Men saw 11 million viewers with a repeat of fellow comedy The Big Bang Theory also scoring with 10 million. Please NBC don’t cancel Community. It’s been the most solid Thursday night sitcom this season.

How anyone can choose Two and a Half Men over Community boggles my mind.

Maybe Community should find one joke and just repeat it over and over. That spells longevity!

    • whatevs

LOL. That comment made me laugh out loud. No truer words have been spoken.

    • Chris

It doesn’t surprise me at all. The average viewer will always choose average shows.

I think TWO AND A HALF MEN scores for one reason and one reason only. It has a laugh track. Apparently, people like being told what’s funny and when to laugh. Personally, I am not a fan of COMMUNITY. That being said, all non-laugh track comedies score well lower than those with laugh tracks. Yet the trend is moving towards shows without. If that continues, no comedy will be a hit.

You might be right. All the cbs comedies have laugh tracks i believe. Dont know about all the NBC and ABC comedies but I know 30 Rock, Office, and Modern Family do not. How sad if that is the real reason why people like certain comedies over another.

    • davey

That’s quite interesting – and actually does explain things to a certain degree. I never thought about it before – but the only comedies I watch DO NOT have a laugh track.

I think they shoudl bring back Friends

I’ve never heard of Community, nor do I care to.

Congratulations for winning the “stupidest post of the day” award.

I find it hard to believe that a laugh track has that much impact. I don’t even really notice until I read it on here that certain shows have one. Funny is funny to me whether other people are laughing are not. BBT and Modern Family are probably my two favs right now.

  • whatevs

If you remove the laugh track from Two and a Half Men, it would just be embarrassing to watch. I think only then people would realize how unfunny it is.

Shows that don’t have laugh tracks thrive on awkward moments, so it’s absolutely esssential to keep that sense of realism.

  • Yes

The appeal of Two and Half Men is beyond me. Community is a much smarter show – you have to pay attention to catch the jokes. Two and a Half Men spoon feeds you the same junk over and over. All I hear in support of that show is that a lot of people watch it but I want to know WHY? Seriously, why do people watch it?

  • Tomm

“2.5 Men” is the “3′s Company” of today. A dopey show with silly sex jokes. Is there a fan website? Message boards? No.

It’s the lowest common denominator show. And the common people say: only sexy looks count, smart people are nerds, and older women are annoying.

    • Dave

Three’s Company, while silly, was still funny and charming, whereas Two and a Half Men is just embarrassingly stupid.

Two and a Half Men is the funniest show on TV other than BBT and HIMYM.

  • LaTisha

2.5 Men and BBT is the best hour on TV. NBC’s Community and Parks programs are just Gawd-Awful. They need a laugh track just so someone, even a taped group would laugh during it. They are embarassments. Along with 30-Rock which deserves no mention at awards show time. It’s truly unfunny. Baldwin and Fey must have slept around with a lot of people in LA to earn those awards

  • dave

No 2 1/2 is not funny, it uses the same old jokes that any other cookie cutter sitcom uses, it’s pathetically unfunny. The other thing that show has going for it is Charlie Sheen who I like personally even though he’s a scumbag, but other than that I might as well be watching any other crappy sitcom on tv.
