ATV exclusives: 'Chuck' fight, 'Castle' reunion, and a 'House'/'Glee' mystery!

If this week’s Ausiello TV is to be believed, it’s gonna be a long (very long), hot (very hot) winter (very winter). Wait, “very winter”? What does that even mean?

Anyway, not only does the episode feature a short film best described as Mike and Annie Make a Porno, it includes scoop on an X-rated plot twist involving one of the guys from one of the shows you’re obsessed with.

Also, there’s the at-least-somewhat-less-salacious live-action (as opposed to photographic) first look at Alyssa Milano’s guest stint on Castle, and my not-at-all-sexually-titillating (or maybe it is… ) exclusive first look at Chuck showing off his new endowment. Of powers, I mean.

Whatever floats your boat, climb aboard by pressing play… READ FULL STORY »

Comedy Central gives Daniel Tosh a second season of 'Tosh.O,' stand-up special

Categories: Television, TV Biz

Tosh.0 is getting an upgrade: Comedy Central has renewed Daniel Tosh’s viral video-tweaking series for a second season, EW.com has learned. Debuting Jan. 13 at 10:30 p.m., season 2 of Tosh.0 will offer up 25 weekly episodes (which is nine more than the season 1 order). “Twenty-five episodes seems like a lot,” Tosh tells EW.com via email, “so I had them work a one-way ticket to Africa into my contract in the event things got overwhelming.” The comedian will also shoot a one-hour stand-up special for Comedy Central that will air later in 2010; it will be released with extended material on DVD and on CD. In addition, the network will sponsor Tosh’s stand-up tour.

Golden Globes 2010: 'Glee' star Lea Michele on her nomination

Among Glee’s TV-pack-leading four Golden Globe nominations this morning were actor nods for stars Matthew Morrison, who plays William McKinley High School’s glee club coach Will Schuester, Lea Michele, who plays glee club’s obnoxious-yet-talented singer Rachel Berry, and Jane Lynch, who plays Will’s nemesis, the bare-knuckle-competitive coach of the Cheerios (WMHS’s championship-winning cheerleading squad), Sue Sylvester.

We got the three stars on the phone today to ask about their red-hot new show and find out what it was like to be nominated for Globes just halfway through its first season. Read the Q&A with Michele below, then check out our interviews with Lynch and Morrison.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: You got up at 5 a.m. to hear the nominations?
LEA MICHELE: I was just looking on my computer, and I couldn’t find anything. So then I decided to turn the TV on, and the minute I turned the TV on, the first name I heard was my name. It was crazy. I just couldn’t believe — and I still can’t believe — that I was nominated in the category that I’m in, with the caliber of actresses I’m amongst. It’s such an out-of-body experience, really. Golden Globes 2010: 'Glee' star Jane Lynch on her nomination

Among Glee‘s TV-pack-leading four Golden Globe nominations this morning were actor nods for stars Matthew Morrison, who plays William McKinley High School’s glee club coach Will Schuester, Lea Michele, who plays glee club’s obnoxious-yet-talented singer Rachel Berry, and Jane Lynch, who plays Will’s nemesis, the bare-knuckle-competitive coach of the Cheerios (WMHS’s championship-winning cheerleading squad), Sue Sylvester.

We got the three stars on the phone today to ask about their red-hot new show and find out what it was like to be nominated for Globes just halfway through its first season. Read the Q&A with Lynch below, then check out our interviews with Michele and Morrison.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How did you find out about your nomination?
JANE LYNCH: I woke up to several messages — when I saw the volume of them, I knew it was probably good news. My agent called me three times and was like ‘get up, get up!’ and, you know, I was kind of playing too-cool-for-school and slept through it because I didn’t want to get too excited about anything. But this is really a lovely dream. It was so fun to come to work this morning. The kids are beside themselves with excitement. It’s great.

We talked to Matthew Morrison, and he said he found out about his nomination from a voicemail you left him. I was hoping you might have left him that voicemail in character as Sue…
Oh, I did, actually! I called him a little you-know-what — a little FU-know-what.

Considering their rivalry, I’m sure Sue wouldn’t want Will to win anything.
That would probably be the truth for Sue. And maybe a little bit for me! Just a little bit. A slight dusting of that.

Were you surprised that the Hollywood Foreign Press appreciated the character of Sue and her demeanor?
Well, I wasn’t surprised so much. I think they kind of like those types out there, across the pond. I think there’s a love for that kind of extreme character, you know?

Doesn’t it seem like the Hollywood Foreign Press would be something Sue would lash out at in a segment of “Sue’s Corner”?
Yeah, right! “Who are these foreign people commenting on our work?”

'Castle' first look: Alyssa Milano makes out with Nathan Fillion!

Categories: Castle, First Look

Let’s hope Beckett isn’t investigating The Ausiello Files today. My guess is she probably wouldn’t be thrilled with this exclusive first look of special guest star Alyssa Milano macking on her guy, Castle, in the Jan. 11 episode of the ABC dramedy. But it’s not really about her. It’s about you. Does the sight of a Fillion-Milano merger on Castle leave you breathless? Bothered? A little of both? Sound off below!

Golden Globes 2010: 'Glee' star Matthew Morrison talks about his nomination

Among Glee‘s TV-pack-leading four Golden Globe nominations this morning were actor nods for stars Matthew Morrison, who plays William McKinley High School’s glee club coach Will Schuester, Lea Michele, who plays glee club’s obnoxious-yet-talented singer Rachel Berry, and Jane Lynch, who plays Will’s nemesis, the bare-knuckle-competitive coach of the Cheerios (WMHS’s championship-winning chearleading squad), Sue Sylvester.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Have you had time to celebrate?
MATTHEW MORRISON: It’s really just talking to friends and family and responding to emails. It’s just been a nonstop morning.

Did you wake up early to watch the nominations?
No. I didn’t. My agent called me, but I was kinda tossing and turning all night because I knew it was happening. But I didn’t wanna watch it.

It’s been such a great year for you guys, and this must be such a great kind of reward after the first 13 aired.
Yeah, well, I’ve had a lot of perspective this morning, just kind of thinking back to when we started this thing and that feeling of hoping people would catch on to it. And then just watching the show come together and being recognized. This is just extra credit now.

Have you talked to any of the cast yet?
I was doing these interviews and Jane Lynch just called me. But I texted with Lea [Michele] and Dianna [Agron, Quinn] and Jenna [Ushkowitz, Tina] and Chris [Colfer, Kurt].

Have you heard from [Glee creator] Ryan Murphy?
Yeah I texted with Ryan this morning.

Are they psyched?
Ryan said, “You realize you’re a huge star now, right?”

You are! What does it mean to get a Golden Globe nomination?
I haven’t really processed that yet. I actually saw a 30 Rock episode not too long ago. Tracy Morgan had a necklace that said EGOT: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony. It’s kind of part of my introduction now. Everyone says “Tony-nominated actor Matthew Morrison.” So now I have another thing to put on there!

Are you going to celebrate the rest of today?
I’m gonna go play a round of golf with my dad.

Well congrats again and that finale was fantastic. I cried like a baby.
Well, we just won sectionals, and now Glee’s going to the Golden Globes. It’s been a good week for us.

I hope your round of golf is equally as successful.
Oh no, it’s gonna be s—ty.

Ratings: Holiday specials and surging reality fill out week's chart

NBC’s powerhouse franchise Sunday Night Football again ruled the broadcast networks for the week ending Dec. 13. The sports program drew 20.9 million viewers, besting new episodes of CBS’ CSI and The Mentalist, which tied for the No. 2 spot, pulling in 16.4 million viewers. Rounding out the Top 5 for the week—shocker!—were also shows on the strong-performing CBS: No. 4 went to Sunday-night staple 60 Minutes with 16.2 million viewers and a repeat of television’s biggest scripted show NCIS landed at No. 5 with 15.1 million viewers. Not shabby at all for an episode that has already aired!

The rest of the Top 20—while littered with the usual suspects like No. 7 Criminal Minds (14.4 million viewers), No. 11 CSI: NY (13.0 million viewers), and No. 19 Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (10.3 million viewers)—had a few surprises, due mostly to surging reality shows, which are nearly the end of their fall runs, and holiday-related specials. NBC’s The Biggest Loser attracted an astounding (for Biggest Loser) 13.5 million viewers to land at No. 9, while CBS’ Survivor: Samoa came in right behind at No. 10 with 13.3 million viewers. And ABC had a foursome of specials that made the Top 20: Disney Prep & Landing and Oprah’s primetime special Christmas at the White House, which tied at No. 13 with 12.0 million viewers; a repeat of the classic A Charlie Brown Christmas, which, after all these years, still managed 11.2 million viewers, which was good enough for a No. 16 spot on the chart; and Barbara Walters’ annual 10 Most Fascinating People hour, which incensed 10.5 million viewers at No. 18.

The full list of shows in the Top 20—along with viewership totals—is after the jump.
