Ratings: Everybody loves a 'Loser'

CBS earned the most total viewers Tuesday night, but NBC pulled in big numbers with a two-hour season premiere of The Biggest Loser: Couples — it scored the highest Adults 18-49 rating for the night and saw its audience increase by 15 percent from beginning to end. ABC will be burning off new episodes of Scrubs and Better Off Ted all month; so far, not many people have seemed to notice.

I guess I will have to resign myself that ABC will cancel one of my favorite shows Better Off Ted

    • Emma

If ABC would advertise it’s Tuesday night shows they way they’ve been selling Modern Family and Cougar Town, Scrubs would not be on its last breath. The shows is still funny and good. please watch people!!

  • Aaron

    Bye Better off Ted :(

  • Jay

Seriously?!?!?!?!? Biggest loser beats Better Off Ted????

    I just dont get it.
Who the hell are these people watching this garbage?

    • mike

My cousins wife loves to watch people who are fatter, have more unruly kids, and have messier houses than her. Sad, isnt it.

  • Stephanie

Better off Ted is soooo funny! I just started watching it and its so funny and sweet! I almost don’t want to continue watching it because its probably going to be canceled soon. which sucks…

  • pauch

So AfterScrubs was a mistake..who didn’t see that one coming? I always want to watch the Biggest Loser and used to watch in the beginning but I hate the 2 hour format.

    • Emma

Have you seen the new Scrubs? It’s funny.

  • Sarah

    Poor Ted :(

  • Mike

Enjoy your ratings while you can… Next week Idol is back and will destroy the competition.

From a die-hard Scrubs fan for 8 years (even though the show took a dive right around season 6), this new season is horrible. Like the thousands before me, I will say that it should have ended on the high note that was last season’s finale. I keep checking EW regularly waiting to see the official headline, “ABC pulls the plug, takes Scrubs off life-support” :(

  • Amiee

It is just further proof that ABC never really cared about BOT. Who the heck puts a show up against NCIS *and* The biggest loser?!? They never wanted or expected it to succeed. They just needed something to burn off on Tuesday nights.

  • Ted Schekler

Love Ted. Really hate to see it treated like this. Stupid ABC. It’s no surprise that they have no patience with anything. Their track record is littered with shows they never gave a shot to find an audience. Glad that 30 Rock is on NBC or it would be dead by now.

And contrary to everyone’s opinion, I find myself enjoying Scrubs: Med School. Now that Zach Braff has left, the show has calmed down and it’s not bad. It’s a shame we won’t have a chance to see how this show could’ve worked out. It takes longer than 13 episodes to build up decent characters and stories.

  • Kay

I guess I should just be thankful they gave it a second season. More DVDs for me to watch instead of the crap on TV.

  • RJ

Big Bang Theory and How I met your Mother were both in trouble for the first couple of seasons. HIMYM in particular was on the cancelation bubble for a while. Now they are two of the most watched comedies. ABC just needs to be patient and actually give the show some support. The viewers will come if they give it a chance.

Ok, the Biggest Loser is good for maybe 30 Minutes, but TWO HOURS? When NBC is already screwing up with Leno five nights a week, they sacrifice two other hours for fat reality. I can read their minds, “Ooga ooga, must please god of fat people.”
Better Off Ted is amazing, but unfortunately we all know where it will end up. Let’s enjoy the shows final episodes like Dollhouse.
does anyone notice how the forgotten had 4.4 million viewers? ABC chose to pick that boring Slater drama (slater will never be amazing in a TV show, sorry) up for more episodes and turned Eastwick down when they had averaged 4.8 million viewers? I don’t get it.

    • Dave

Yup, ABC is a bunch of morons. They didn’t realize that the only reason The Forgotten was previously averaging slightly higher ratings than Eastwick was because The Forgotten aired right after the ratings juggernaut Dancing with the Stars. But DWTS is not on now, and no one really cares about The Forgotten because it is so forgettable and dull and uninspired. Not to mention that ABC’s entire Tuesday lineup is not advertised at all. And poor Better Off Ted deserves some love. But foolish ABC execs sandwiched it between two struggling shows, intent on making sure no one finds out about it.

PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO SAVE BETTER OFF TED!!!!!

  • cordy

Brad, savebetteroffted.com, we have a petition, a facebook page, and an idea of what to send to ABC
