This is great news. I enjoy the interns, but loved Zach and his interactions with the cast. The way his story ‘ended’, I expected to see him occasionally, this will do.

  • Greg

Why did he leave the show in the first place?

    • sluggo

I apparently had something to do with Gargamel from the Smurfs.

  • Emily

Yay! That’s on my birthday! Best birthday present EVER!! :D

  • Levi

Totally awesome news!!! Have really missed Zack.

  • Tee

It’ll be nice to see Zack again. I wish they’d settle on one lab person though. It kind of seems to throw off the dynamic with a revolving door of people.

    • koker

I think they will settle with Wendel, because he’s kinda cute, friends with Hoggins, almost involved with Angela and hockeying with Booth.

  • koker

I just wish flashback doesn’t take the whole episode.

  • Kim

    So excited for this episode!

Regarding the comments about bringing him back, it would never happen. You don’t get to go criminally insane, take part in cult like murder, and then get your security clearance back. While the whole Gormogon-Zack story was handled about as deftly as my 2 y.o. would handle a FabergĂ© egg, what’s done is done. As badly as his departure was handled, the rotating interns and their little nods that the chemistry between Zack and Hodgins is missing and missed have been handled well. I don’t want to see some completely unbelievable excuse for why Zack would be back in the lab permanently, the show already stretches credulity often enough as is without breaking it so utterly.

I thought the Gormogon story was awesome. It made that season 2nd best. Plus Zack never killed or ate anyone. He told Sweets that when he took him back to prison.

The problem I have is, I thought in the pilot, Booth acted like who is this kid?

      • Sue1

By bringing him back as a consultant I meant how he might have continued being part of the show after the Gormogon incident, the same as he did in “The Perfect Pieces in the Purple Pond”. Of course the upcoming show is a flashback…

    • Sue1

It seemed that he might be used as a ‘consultant’, helping them out occasionally. That’s the only believable scenario, but there were probably too many things to work out.

      • Mike B

The episode is set back when Booth and Bones first met up. Zack was Bones’ assistant from way back. It is not present day.

The rest of the revolving interns are good; Zack is no longer necessary in the lab and yes – NO WAY would he get security clearance again!! I thought his character was interesting but there’s been a lot of water under the bridge. He would no longer fit in. Too many changes in the lab now.

  • Jenny

    ZACKERONI!!!!!

  • superso

this is best news i’ve heard all day! can’t wait to see zack-a-roni back in the lab =P

  • Jackie

    ZACK-ARONI !!!!! Yay!!

  • dancing phalanges

i am really glad zack will be back, a flashback episode would not be the same without him. that said i am fine with the fact that he left the show and i like the rotating interns. mr. nigel-murray is my fave.

  • chrissy

Someone please refresh my memory, why did he leave?

  • Dewey

Will they also bring back the Chinese Restaurant, Dr. Goodman and Heavy-D for the 100th since this is a flashback episode?

    • Mary

That’s a good question. I heard they stopped using the Chinese Restaurant because they lost the location, so I wouldn’t count on that.

  • Courtney

    Yay!!!!!
