Ratings shmatings. Greg Grunberg says Heroes will be back next fall for a fifth season — and he’s got proof. “We wrapped yesterday and the [final episode] is nowhere near a series finale,” he told us at last night’s People’s Choice Awards. “It is cliffhanger-y and exciting, but it is nowhere near an end to a series that people are so invested in. It does not tie everything up in a neat bow… I don’t have any doubt that the show will be back.”
Grunberg cites Heroes‘ strong DVD sales and international success as two reasons the show will go on. “We will wrap it up properly in the next season and get to 100 episodes,” he maintains. “At least that’s what I would like to see happen. They take so much care in writing the show that I would hope we get the chance to end it right.
“Lost announced an end [date] and I think that helped both the people working on the show and the people watching it,” he continues. “They see the finish line and I think it gives them something tangible to invest in and be excited about. It’s like it’s a movie and they want to see the end of it. That’s what I hope happens with our show.”
Speaking of Lost, Grunberg confirms that his ill-fated Oceanic pilot will play a role in the show’s Feb. 2 season premiere. What’s the context? “Well, with [Lost], they go back and forth in time so you have no idea when and where the last season will take place,” he says. “I may get eaten all over again!” (Reporting by Carrie Bell)

Even Xena was better than that lol It’s a ridiculous bad comedy imitation of 007, I prefer sitting on my balcony watching the sunset than this. Heroes is an overproduction!

I hope you’re wrong Mr. Grunberg! I haven’t been able to tolerate Heroes in a while. I turned it on Monday, by accident and the same big fat guy that controls things was messing around with Claire… I remember that from two or three years ago! The writers are crap, the acting is worse and the show caused Chuck to not be on for five extra months! Time to put an end to Heroes… I don’t even care that people will be out of work, the show bothers me so freaking much!

Actually, you can blame that awful Leno for Chuck’s delay. If not for him wasting 5 hours a week there would be plenty of primtime slots for Chuck, Heroes, and all the other great dramas that NBC WAS known for.
That scene your talking about with Doyle(fat man) happened last year. He was a new character last year so please dont exaggerate with the 2 to 3 years ago. Also we havnt seen Doyle do that in a while. oh and the acting isnt bad at all. Even if it does get cancelled and they are out of work they will still find better jobs than you will ever get. Doyle was not a new character last year. He came into the picture when Claire met her biological mother for the first time. That was in season two if I am not mistaken. So if I where you I would check before you get into telling someone they are exaggerating.

Woah Dawn! First of all Claire met her biological mother in season one . Next Doyle was most definitely introduced in season three. Maybe you should check if you have all your facts strait? And of course: Long Live Heroes!

He was hardly comparing it to Lost. He was simply stating the he saw how the Lost creators/ABC execs choosing an end date for the show was extremely beneficial for the show, otherwise it would have likely gone the same way Heroes has. I agree with him in the hope that NBC will choose an end date for Heroes well ahead of time so that the writers can tell a complete, book like story. It started with a comic book feel, it should end that way.
I quit watching Heroes a couple of years ago and think Greg Grunberg is a bit… unstable, but I don’t think he was comparing Heroes to Lost. He was commenting on the positive effect of Lost having a set end date, which is a valid point, and how he hopes that Heroes will also have that kind of anticipation and resolution.
This is the same guy who thinks his show is awesome. So I don’t take anything he says seriously.
