Last month, I reported that Ugly Betty producers had smartly cast Vanessa Williams’ real-life brother, Chris, to play Willy’s drag queen doppelganger, Wilheldiva Hater. Well, feast your eyes on this exclusive first look at Wilhelmina and Wilheldiva striking a fierce pose in the Jan. 20 episode. “I’m genetically programmed for [this role],” laughs Chris, whose scenes were shot on location at New York’s famed burlesque club, The Box. Also on hand for the all-day shoot was Michael Urie, who stated the obvious: “This side of bursting into flames, this show couldn’t get any gayer.” (Reporting by Tanner Stransky)

Wow, the show’s title is sooooo fitting: That is one UGLY drag queen. Couldn’t they at least cast a man with softer features and a less manly frame? It’s like having Warren Beatty play Shirley McClaine’s drag impersonator…
this makes no sense. the title of the show has nothing to do with the drag queen. and the actor was cast because it’s vanessa william’s actual brother. did you even read the article? and i don’t know any professional drag queens who are trying to pass themselves off as legit women. it’s sheer entertainment, and the fact they DO have many features is what makes it fun.
Why is this show so popular with gay people? The gay representation on the show is all the worst stereotypes about gay men : Shallow, oversexed, obsessed with fashion and looks, etc etc.

are you insane? Ugly Betty is about the total opposite! Its about how while we look at Betty and see how she is “ugly” she is a good person at the end of the day and thats what matters. Whereas the people who work at MODE are awful and mean and they arnt really they beautiful. You dont know what you’re talking about sweetie. And while the whole gay bitchy thing is a stereotype, ugly betty does it good by having a character like Marc who shows he’s smarter than you think and isnt what youd expect at times.

Does anyone even CARE about this show anymore. After the first season it just went down hill and betty had become one of the most annoying characters on TV. Everyone knows it will fail and get cancelled, no matter how much EW ppushes it and promotes it.

Clearly people care — for proof, see the overload of comments on Ausiello’s recent “Exclusive: ‘Ugly Betty’ pretty close to a Betty/Daniel romance.” It appears that people care deeply about the show. And have you even watched any of the recent episodes? The show is fantastic, and it’s only getting better!
If people DO in fact care then how do you explain the AWFUL ratings…around 3 million viewers (OUCH)

I actually used to watch Ugly Betty till it went down the creative drain. Look no matter how good it is this year, trust me this year will be its final. IT WILL GET CANCELLED and you could feel it in your bones.
Unfortunately, I agree with JJ. It will be cancelled. I used to watch it, but the show got old after awhile. I think EW needs to spend their time reviewing shows people actually watch.

I love Vanessa, I love Chris, this is going to be one of the best epis of the season probably the series. It is sad that UB is getting the time slot run around but hopefully it has found its home and it will begin to pick up ratings.

This episode is gonna be great! Vanessa Williams needs to get nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy, she is so funny, she makes me laugh everytime she is on screen! She gets the best one-liners of anyone on TV and delivers them perfectly. How does that not deserve at least an Emmy nod?! This is the best season since season 1, I guess if it doesnt get another season it will at least go out on top of its game!
Ugly Betty is still the best and most creative comedy on television with a heart that nothing can match. I loved the episode last night and I hope it does better soon. It deserves to be watched.
