The spoiler’s a foiler! That’s the word from Vampire Dairies producers in response to a report that Elena will transition into a vampire when the hit drama returns on Jan. 21.
“It’s fake,” maintained exec producer Julie Plec. “It’s completely not even close to what the episode is.”
So what is happening in the first episode back? Exec producer Kevin Williamson reveals that Damon and Elena will go on an adventure. “[They will] have some alone time,” he said. “There’s no Stefan, so we’re going to explore how their relationship develops on its own terms without Stefan there to guide it or get in the middle of it.”
Other spoilery highlights from the VD panel at Winter Press Tour:
* Williamson confirmed that Vicki is really dead. Jeremy, meanwhile, will begin to learn the truth about the circumstances surrounding her murder.
* An upcoming flashback will feature a first-ever kiss between Damon and Katherine.
* Later in the season, Damon will have to “step up” and act like a big brother to Stefan. “We’re going to explore the flip-flop of the dynamic between the brothers,” said Plec, “because, for the first half of the season, it’s been very much about Stefan managing Damon and dealing with Damon, and Stefan is going to go through something that is going to put Damon in a situation where he suddenly has to finally step up and act like a big brother and take care of Stefan.”
* Elena and Bonnie’s relationship “will be tested,” said Williamson. “[Bonnie] has to decide whether she’s down with vampires or not.”
Ausiello, ily and thanks for the spoilers, but dude. Fact check already. Jeremy is not Vicki’s brother. They were lovers. He’s Elena’s brother.

I’m still scared about how they’re just rushing through all these story lines, it feels like I’ve gone through several seasons in these last episodes. But it’s still exciting and they seem to have many of them, so…
i love vampire diaries specially when i see the sexy hunk damon he looks so much better with elena than stefan with elena.

So true. Stefan is a snooze. He’s too damn broody and angsty, and Elena and Stefan are boring together. Damon makes the show and he’s got much more exciting chemistry with Elena.

Why does this show remind me so much of that show Roswell?

Because Nina Dobrev (Elena) has a resemblance (IMO) to Shiri Appleby (Liz Parker) from Roswell. At least that was my initial feeling as well when I saw the first VD ep.
Because both shows use the diary thing. And both leading ladies are annoying and boring as hell
What adventure could they be going on? That hasn’t happen yet in the books.
They’ve deviated greatly from the books, so don’t rely on them to help you predict what will happen.
I know, I do wish they had followed them a little more as far as Elana’s friends go anyway.

Oh man, I love Stefan. He is so hot and sexy!! I guess I like the brooding vampires (love Bill Compton from True Blood as well). I really hope Elena and Stefan end up together. I think they sizzle as a couple.
They are the reason I don’t watch the show. Good for you, because they are those couples that are going to end up together not matter (bummer. I think they suck together).
Just started reading the books and as much as I like the show, the pace of the books is actually alot better. However I will watch it to see how they are going to develop the show…
I am all about Damon. But I am a bad-boy vamp lover (Eric from TrueBlood…sigh!) Just wish they hadn’t changed so much from the books…
I don’t mind who she gets together with as long as she gets with Stefan at the end.
However i’m so sick of all these will-they wont-they relationships on tv ann i think that it would be interesting to see Stefan and Elena trying to make it as a couple – to really explore how they would go about that as there are a lot of obstructions in the way.
I like the idea of a Damon-Caroline-Bonnie-Matt triangle square thingy. We need Matt-Damon scene
I so ship Damon-Elena as a reader of the books AND watcher of the show. Stefan…Stefan is just, well…BORING.
Oh, and I have to add, Damon-Elena shippers, don’t lose all hope for them! Look at Dawson’s Creek with Dawson and Joey—one of those god-awful but supposedly “meant to be” couples like Stefan/Elena, but Joey ended up with the more interesting Pacey.
yea thats so true about the joey and pacey thing. Dawson is like stefan the first love thing but pacey is like damon the forever couple. TEAM DAMON.
