Press Tour Video: 'Chuck' will get even more awesome

Thought last night’s two-hour Chuck opener was awesome? Just wait. According to Yvonne Strahovski, the best is yet to come. “It [gets] way better,” she told me last night at NBC’s press tour bash. “I personally think that stakes are higher. And things happen [in episodes 6-10] that I’m sure everybody would love to see.” What “things” might she be referring to? The below video may provide a clue…  (BTW, feel free to take me to task for getting my blond heroines mixed up. I deserve it.)

Last nights episode was in fact awesome! I hope they keep it up. Yay Chuck. Did anyonelse think it felt more grown up?

  • Joel

Olivia? Seriously? This is Chuck, not Fringe! Anyways, great interview. Yvonne (as always) looks fantastic!

  • Josh Emerson

Who put this thing together? The nametag thing in the video says they are from Heroes!

    • ed

      HA! That’s so funny.

  • RK

I hate that fake Aussie accent she puts on.

    • GimplyGump ☺

Uh, you realize she fakes the American accent, right? She’s FROM Australia … specifically Maroubra, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

Now will someone please tell this deaf guy what this was about/said??? Triple shame on EW for not giving at least a paragraph summing up the video ‘sound’. :(

      • RK

I knew someone wouldn’t get it.

      • GimplyGump ☺

I wasn’t sure if you were kidding or not. Sorry

GimplyGump, here’s a brief summary for you in case no one else responded:
Yvonne and Adam are really looking forward to episodes 6-10 (the five eps after the ones that Ausiello has seen). They say that they are an improvement, and that the stakes are higher in those. Ausiello was wondering what the scoop with Shaw (Brandon Routh) and Sarah is. Apparently, there will be some “tension” but Adam and Yvonne remained pretty tight-lipped. Adam did say something like “you don’t want to jump the shark-even if it’s a superhuman size. Is that cryptic enough?” Haha. Also, they are thrilled that Scott Bakula is coming back as Chuck’s dad for a few episodes at the end of the season.

All of this sounds exciting. Can’t wait for more “Chuck.”

      I got it!

  • Amber

It’s also not Heroes! Get it together, caption people!

  • Kermonk

They need to get those two together with all the contrived crap to break them up. Good writers could do it.

  • danny6114

Its odd to hear Yvonne speak in her native accent, she does American so well you forget shes from down under as is Anna Torv the Olivia to whom you referred!

  • Mike B

I love Chuck. I am not liking the Brandon Routh thing. Hope Chuck kicks his ass.

    • Kendra

Chuck does punch him in the previwq last night so I’m excited for that

  • Elizabeth

Adam Baldwin (John Casey) looked pretty good during the first two episodes… look liked he worked out a little during the hiatus.

I just started watching during the SyFy mini-marathon last weekend and I’m hooked. Also, I’m cursing myself because I really enjoyed the show.

    • Molly

I uttered very similar words. I think it was “Holy crap. those guns. Casey hit the gym” I mean Adam Baldwin was always jacked, but he looks even more fantastic

      • Mels

Yeah I noticed the same thing. His arms are definitely larger.

  • Kelly

Ausiello, surely, after all these years, you can do a better interview than that? “Do the shows stay as good”- wth are they supposed to say, “No?”

    Jeez.

  • tom

the last 2 ep was so awesome, and i think that Yvonne Strahovski is so hot, the accent is even hotter (aussie not US)

  • t.t

ausiello has someone hidden your diet snapple from you? first you ignore rashida and now you mess up between sarah and olivia. one of whom (Sarah) is way way better! first rashida now yvonne!
    find that diet snapple! :P

  • DW

The endless Chuck/Sarah “will they or won’t they” thing is the worst part of the show. Will the writers ever move this relationship forward or what?

  • maxwell19596

Could Yvonne be any sexier. Yes when she speaks. Yowza. I am really looking forward to this season of Chuck. I think it’s going to be the best yet!

  • jtm

i love chuck and last night eposide was great it is so much better than crappy shows like vampire diaries and 2 and half man that has that woman beater on it. does anyone agree?
