I think that if Conan can be patient and ride this out on NBC, it could be beneficial for him in the long run. A tight half hour lead-in from Leno into Conan’s monolog would probably provide a ratings bump for The Tonight Show. If you feel like I do, that Jay (and Dave) may retire in 2-3 years, Conan would then still be the host of The Tonight Show, which could then be moved back to it’s traditional time. At that point, he would be the undisputed “King of Late Night”.

Instead we’re going to get Jimmy Fallon hosting The Tonight Show? Please no!

  • Cindy

    I love Conan.

  • kapechi

PLEASE let him go to FOX so we don’t have to watch him any more.

    • Alexander Stark

Um, you don’t have to watch if you don’t want, and FOX has more viewers and better leadins

Jay Leno is no where near as entertaing as Conan or Jimmy Fallon….infact Leno should have never been givin the reings of the Tonight Show over Letterman in the first place….jay is a mediocre comic at at best….NBC really took alot of steaps backwards on this one…but than again what do you expect from out of touch Dinosaurs who have no eye for talent…What in the Blue Hell is wrong with these grey haired Jabronis!?!?

to me, Conan vs. Jon Stewart at 11pm is a no-brainer…I’d pick Jon Stewart every time.

      Same.

bergen: “its the younger generation that stays up later and watches these shows”

Bull. If that were true then how could Conan get lapped by Letterman for 7 months (double audience) when Jay left Conan with a number 1 show.

“and leno’s just not cutting it anymore. ”

Ha ha ha! Oh yeah. Her left the Tonight’s Show having been #1 for years. If winning is not cutting it, then what is? Further, his prime time numbers have been almost 3 times better than Conans for the last 4 months.

Stop making stuff up. The fact of the matter is, until the last week, due to this controversy, no one watched Conan’s show.

All you people can jump up and down on the internet about how great Conan is; nobody cares.

Advertisers don’t pay for talk on the internet, they pay for eye balls on the screen. The FACT is that Conan didn’t cut it.

What’s going to happen when Jay does retire though? Which I guess will be in 2-3 years. Johnny Carson retired around the same age that Leno and Letterman are reaching. I mean Leno’s going to keep doing the show into his 80′s?

O’Brien could team up with Palin and be a slam-dunk for mindless comedy.

My favorite man is conan. he is the coolest and I am over 50 years old. Letterman and Leno are out of date in my opinion. I will follow conan to any channel.
