'Bones' scoop: Emily Deschanel says Booth/Brennan twist a 'good' thing

Bones fans, go ahead and relax. The “different trajectory” that exec producer Stephen Nathan teased was coming up for Booth and Brennan on Bones will not involve any kind of relationship setback. On the contrary. According to Emily Deschanel, the events of the upcoming 100th episode “changes things in a good way” between B&B. For more on that, as well as new intel on the identity of the bride and groom tying the knot later this season, check out my Q&A with Deschanel from Fox’s press tour party last night…

this is good news! And wow does Emily look fantastic. I am still very curious about this “different trajectory” business, but I don’t think it’ll will be anything shark-jumping.

  • naya

    ok im relieved

  • HAH

Thanks Ausiello! Good news indeed. Can’t wait for Bones to return this Thursday.

  • Eames

Thanks Ausiello for the Bones scoop! Love Emily, made me smile, the way she just couldn’t answer ‘yes’ or ‘no’ about B&B being together by end of the season

  • Niki_Netherlands

Yeeeh Lots of Bones scoops this week! Can’t wait for the 100ste episode!

  • Penelope

    Thnks Mike

  • Liz

Thank you Ausiello! I thought for sure this “new journey” thing would just separate them, so thanks for asking Emily! Doesn’t she look great btw? But where was David?

  • Leia

I’m so relieved! I was worried too. And yes, Emily is amazing at those interviews. SO beautiful too!

  • AuntieMM

Good news…. As to the wedding, since a pregnancy was mentioned previously, my money is on Sweets and his girlfriend.

    • furiousk

It has to be those two. I feel like it’s been leading to that all season. I mean, every episode Sweets and Daisy are in together, he faces some obstacle when it comes to their relationship (i.e. her constant thing of correcting people and proving how smart she is; the hot chick at the Avatar premiere) and comes out realizing that she really truly is the person he loves. They may as well just put a ring on it and get married already (especially since a Hodgela wedding will never happen at this rate…or will it?)

      • nat

I think you’re right. Sweets and Daisy, which should be cute! Can you imagine Sweets with a baby? He’ll so awkward…lol.

    • bethanymae

Yeah, I think Sweets and Daisy are very possible options for the wedding. Since Brennan is her idol, she’d probably want her in the wedding party, but it’s questionable, which is why ED may not know–were it Angela, it’d be kind of a “duh.”

  • Mells

Ok good, now i can relax a little bit…

  • elr

Big SIGH of relief. I like the line about kisses, meaning more than one set of characters locking lips?????

    • Penelope

I think it means that there will be one kiss in the flashback and a one in the present storyline

      • Robert

Lord I hope so – multiple B&B kisses would be awesome. Of course any B&B would be awesome. It’s been two years since the Christmas Kiss and I mean, C’mon already!

      • Liz

You forget the “dream/coma” sequence in the finale where they make love (so great btw, but not long enough and not really Booth & Brenn, but still..).

  • mallory

YAY! Changes in a good way! love to hear that! :) oh and yes, Emily looked fantastic!

  • Jaymii

    Ooooh, Emily! Nice interview.

  • Lee

I take all this stuff with a grain of salt given that ED was also saying before the finale last year that the winding up in bed thing was “real” blah blah blah.

All this is just PR just like last year’s misdirection from HH and the cast.

    • Ryan

      calm down.

      • Amber

Lee’s just speaking the truth. ED could mean “a good thing” in various ways. One could mean, if there is a step back in the NON- relationship, or if Booth backs off from his apparent feelings for Brennan, it could be a “good” thing for BB. So, I would take everything she says with a grain of salt. I believe Lee was just throwing that out there :) The job of actors and showrunners are to misdirect us when it comes to spoilers and upcoming episodes. So, we’ll all just have to wait and see.

      • Kara

I love this show such romance in every sense! So I may calm down but not for long

  • Cara

Thanks for the very reassuring scoop!!
