Am I the only one who thinks that she came begging for her old job back because she discovered that she really doesn’t have anything marketable yet in the eyes of Hollywood?
Not that I’m complaining. I think Hollywood is wrong and that she’s a good actress and plays the part well. I did prefer her as a brunette though.
Yes, you’re the only one who thinks that. Actually, she has a job now and so kindly is taking her four days off before rehearsals to film her guest appearance on House. She’s a class act
Do you mean it’s just for a brief appearance?
Not good enough, I want her on the show fulltime. So sick of Foreman, Thirteen and Huddy.
What! did you think that Shore wanted Jennifer Morrison back on House? It’s just a guest appearance.
The woman is being PAID & kept on the contract & allowed to do other projects, while not having to film on set. Its NOT about being a ‘class act’. Its about doing the job she’s paid for, especially when FOX could’ve cut her loose with nothing like other actors have been when their storyline ended. I’m tired of this smug ‘class act’ bull. The producers have been generous.
That was supposed to be a sad face. I want Cameron back permanently, not a kiss-off for her and her fans.
Why shouldn’t Shore want Jennifer Morrison back on House? Great character, good actress, large fanbase. Get rid of Foreman and Thirteen instead, both dead weight at this point.
I’d say that the producers have been stalling her career for three seasons now.
no, you are NOT THE ONLY one who thinks that.
I hope her stay is temporary. Cameron is not an engaging character & always has manufactured drama; be it a contrived fling with meth to holding onto her dead husband’s sperm to spouting off another morally righteous speech. Not interested.
Cameron started getting ridiculous at the point they made Cuddy House’s love interest and brought in Thirteen and deliberately chose to ruin Cameron to make the other two women look good.
She was one of the best characters from the years when the show was still good and has a huge fanbase. Shore was a fool to drop her.
All the characters & plots are great when the show is fresh. Its getting past the first two years where you’ll see a true litmus test of one’s longevity onscreen. By S3, I already found Cam to be annoying in her assumptions about House and the others. Plus, fellowships last only 2 to 3 years. So the old ducks were always going to have to be swapped out. The writers needed a plausible way to write them into the plot. I just think that Cameron is one of the more “creatively dry” characters on the show. Short of her feelings for her ex-boss, what else is driving her actions and personality. And, YES, she has been a great foil for House, but then again, Taub has stepped up to that plate. So she is not essential. Just my opinion…
If fellowships last only 2 to 3 years, what are Taub and 13 or Foreman or Chase doing there?
Fryaafafaf –
Chase, Cameron, & Foreman finished their original fellowships prompted by their respective exits. Foreman comes back as ‘mgmt’, Cam in ER, and Chase a surgeon. Its unclear how long has passed for 13 & Taub since S4 was a shortened season because of the strike & most of that was dominated by the Survivor-style screening of candidates. Nothing indicates that its been more than 2 years for them. As for Chase rejoining, it would have to be regarded as a new fellowship since his previous one terminated at the end of S3.
@ Christopher: Cameron was not creatively tapped out. She’s one of the few who can stand up to House now that Cuddy lost her backbone and Foreman was never smart enough. She’s the only one on the show with any sense of ethics, and along with Wilson the only one who cares about who the patient is first. Thirteen is a clone of Foreman, Taub is pretty darn close and Chase is not much different. Why get rid of the one character who is truly a contrast to the way House practices medicine and also makes him look at the ethics of what he’s doing.
If Foreman can stay on the team for 6 years and Chase is back again in season 6, why get rid of Cameron who at least was different?
There is no dramatic justification for getting rid of Cameron. People like her more than they like Thirteen and that’s why Shore did it. Shore got pissy that we didn’t love his Thirteen and got rid of Thirteen’s competition.
Being “creatively tapped out” is an apt phrase when all you’re brought in for is to have your pedastal pushed around for narrative purposes. To me, her ‘ethics’ became a prison around her characterization, since it made her preachy while also making any drama involving her a reaction to her morality. Not that ethics are bad–but consider how Taub has played that foil to House. The irony of a plastic surgeon being an insightful, skin-deep type of guy is actually very clever, along with giving him some proper failings to keep him real. Now, I couldn’t care less about 13 & don’t think she does much for House, but she is new blood and a better foil for Foreman. As for where Cam stands among the Old Ducks, well like I mentioned about Taub, I feel Chase and Foreman have proper flaws and failings. They each have done ugly things, admitting unfortunate truths about themselves in ways that ‘pine-fresh’ Cam doesn’t have to. I don’t think her storylines have impacted or altered her like they have for the rest of the cast. That brief fling with drugs [like 13] can laughably be forgotten. Now, Im not going to compare Cuddy to Cam. There’s really no point. In the end, Cuddy was in love with House and has did some ridiculous things because of it–JUST LIKE Cameron did when her feelings for House had her doing foolish things.
I’m not saying all the items above make getting rid of her justified, but I can see why the writers chose her as the first to go.
You know, that all sounds really great and all, but tell me how all of this then is not the producers’ fault? Or even the fault of the writers?
It is their job to create characters and then have them go a direction that won’t make the audience hate those characters, or worse, don’t feel anything towards them.
Yes, there is such a thing as an actor’s talent, but all the talent in the world is not gonna help you if you get terrible scripts to work with or no script at all.
Chris, IT’S CAMERON NOT CAM and it’s obviously you haven’t been watching the same show than me. You don’t like Cameron, fine. Her fans love and enjy the character
He didn’t say anything against her. Grow up!
Fryaafafaf–
I type Cam when I have to reference her several times so as to not use up character space in my post. Was that really difficult for you to discern?
Write less and you’ll have more character space. And it’s still Cameron, don’t be lazy.
Fyaafafaf–
You are dictating to me that I should write LESS yet not be lazy. Are you so rabid over a character that its made you ignorant to contradictary statements? Personally I think its more important to get one’s point across verses to nitpick over name presentations. Everyone knows Im talking about Cameron, but may not see my opinion clearly without proper explanation.
In any case, I’ll spell Cameron with an FU next time. It doubles the work by also conveying what I think about your whiny attitude. bye.
I really want to believe it!
I’m afraid of the lies that creators / producers / actors say almost always.
I’m afraid that’s just for making us watch the show.
Just i will watch when she returns definitly!
And I do not want Chaméron which is really annoying!
Hameron please!
sorry my english – I’m brasilian
At this point, I don’t trust David Shore even as far as I can throw him because he’s so untrustworthy.
Unless she’s back permanently, House remains on my Don’t Watch list.
THIS!
Aww man, I was so hoping that she was gone for good.
FUCCCK!!!
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!
Now just let her stay as long as the show last and I’ll be happy as HELL!!!
If she’s back on the show, why wasn’t she invited to join the cast at the People’s Choice Awards? She flew into LA the next day, she could easily have come a day earlier.
It seems fishy to me. At best this is a brief appearance to end Cameron’s role on the show permanently and that’s not what I want. I want her back on the show fulltime.
she’s preggers
Um, isn’t that more like you’ve been trying to claim she’d never be back, dude? I doubt it’s permanent or anything, but it’ll be nice to see her. Maybe get a proper goodbye for Chase and Cameron, because that lousy ep where she left was *not* it.
But Chase is so damn cute without her!! That new haircut makes me want to lick him like an ice cream cone!! lol!!
Maybe to hook up with House. Now that would be fun
After they have done with Huddy, I will be happy for House if he gets hitched with Cameron, or with any other woman, for that matter. FWIW.
Did any of these “yay Cameron’s back” posters read beyond the subject of the article? It’s distincly said she’s will likely have time to “squeeze in” a comeback. It’s only going to be a guest appearance because she won’t have time with the theatre work to be a regular. I doubt a whole show with six other major characters is going to arrange their whole shooting schedule around JM’s sporadic appearance on the set. I say she’ll be brought back for the finale to sign her character out for good. Afterall, it’ll be a good ratings booster if they’re already leaking her return now just after episode 11. A good couple of months of hype under their belts for a ratings boost right there.
Finally, someone who can read!
Not to mention it will basically impossible for Cameron to smoothly return after her little departure speech to House without slaughtering her character in a hypocritcal pile of misguided moral values. Chase still murdered the guy and Cameron still thinks House ruined Chase. Any about turn in opinion she makes in an effort to return her to House’s presence is just going to make her look like an idiot. It’s not going to happen. The writers had Cameron take the moral high ground for one reason – to finally give her a reason to break away from House, and hence the show.
Return permanently, I mean. I never doubted she would be back for a final appearance to tie up loose ends with Chase and let viewers know where she moved on to.
Thanks, L. That’s exactly IT.
*claps* THANK YOU. I don’t know why people are reading into this as being anything more than a guest appearance. She’ll only be filming for ONE day before she has to fly back to NY. We don’t know which episode that will be. We don’t know her plot-line. Most likely she will not be sleeping with House for that one day she is filming.
Who cares? She has a job in Broadway and is coming back for an episode… SO YEAH! I’m a big fan of her and I’m happy to see her again EVEN IF IS JUST ONE EPISODE!
Nothing bad in that my friend!
It’s even more impossible for House to have a functional relationship with Cuddy but that doesn’t stop the show from trying to ram their twu wuv down our throats every chance they get.
If they can write Cameron out-of-character to get her off the show, they can write her back on just as easily.
The show didn’t directly leak this to Ausiello. A fan did.
Personally, I think the show actually likes to keep their big twists as twists. They rely on a lot of gotcha storytelling.
For Gods Sake I hope she is back for good, And with that I mean With Chase lol! I like Chameron.
I bet she is pregnant, Cameron, not Jennifer
Na, that would be too cliche.
I agree!
BRING HER BACK NOW AND FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
