Exclusive: 'Days' star Alison Sweeney rushed to 'Mercy'

Tags: , News

Maybe Alison Sweeney should host The Tonight Show. Lord knows she already works on every other show at NBC.

The next phase of the Days of Our Lives and Biggest Loser star’s quest for complete Peacock domination kicks in this March, when she guests on the network’s freshman medical drama, Mercy.

According to sources, Sweeney will play a bus-crash victim who appears to have only minor injuries. However, the docs and nurses soon discover (spoiler alert!) that she has shrapnel in her brain, causing her to act outĀ of character.

So, what do you think of this whole Sweeney/Tonight Show idea? Maybe not now, but in, say, five years when Leno steps down again. I can kind of see it.

I’ve been a fan Ali Sweeney’s since ’93. Love her! She’s the only one not actively sinking the NBC failboat. Glad to see she’s still doing guest roles. I loved her guest gigs on Friends and Las Vegas.

Which episode of Friends did she guest star in?

      • PJ

She was on the episode where Joey was up for the Soapie.

Allison has always been one of my favorites, even when she was the best, little bad girl in Daytime. The network would be wise to make sure she’s happy, Ali’s a keeper.

I couldn’t agree with you more!!

I love Ali Sweeney, i started to watch her back n 1993 on Days and i still watch her and because of her i am now watching Biggest Losser.

I can’t wait to see her on Mercy.

      Love you Ali :)

I don’t know how she is on her soap, but my wife and I are not fans of her on Biggest Loser at all. Luckily, we don’t watch Mercy, so this won’t impact us, regardless.

      Thanks for sharing nonetheless….?

    Best tv actress!

“Act out of character” You mean Allison might display some credible acting traits rather than the walking cardboard she current flaunts

  • Jessica

I truly think she is the best soap opera actor out there. I love her on Biggest Loser and with rumors that DofOL is headed for the end I would love to see her have a very full and successful career acting in Primetime or even late-night.

I think Days is fine for now, they’re ratings have been up and they are only behind Y&R and B&B

  • Cara

Good idea – it would be nice to see a woman host a prime time late night comedy show.

  • fernando

I love Mercy and happy to see so many good guest stars on this great show.

Mercy is a great show and it have been filling my sadness from the lost of Eastwick.I hope this show gets a second season.

  • Hillary

I love her on Days! I am happy that she’s doing other things, but I sure hope this isn’t a plan to leave Days!

  • Erin

Ali is one of my favorite actresses and she is amazing on Days. I am always happy to see her in other projects as long as she stays on Days as Sami :)

  • Kate

Hmmm. Sounds so very … “ER.”

  • dryedmangoez

    Allison Sweeney is awesome!
Always amazing on Days, and so great to see her hosting Biggest Loser.

Good point though, she’s on two of the most stable shows on the network, Days of our Lives and The Biggest Loser. She deserves all the success she’s enjoying now and then some.

  • Jon

Anyone would be better than Jay as Tonight Show host, even Alison Sweeney.

    go ali!!
