I am one of the many who are glad that Matt is gone, but if they wanted a blue collar love interest for her, why not bring back Gio? The chemistry of Gio and Betty was astounding. He really loved her and she broke his heart. He was way more appealing than Matt ever was. He was a grown-up with ambition who knew what he wanted out of life and did all he could to help Betty get what she wanted, too. When she hurt him, he walked away out of self-protection but never tried to get petty revenge. Gio and Betty make way more sense than any other pairing.

While I am not glad that Matt is gone, I do agree that they could have brought Gio back as the “blue collar” guy vs add a new person. I actually won’t mind Betty with Gio (I want Matt first) but they would need to bring him back now since Betty never seemed to like him the way he liked her, not later and that doesn’t seem like it is going to happen.

Yes how does this below average bridge and tunnel gal keep getting good looking guys? This is not a comedy, it’s science fiction.

I don’t know how this fat irritating limp of ugliness keeps getting a MAN period.

Matt better come back before the season ends. I dislike all the other pairings and this guy just sounds like another few episodes rebound (Remember Jesse?). I love Matt. Both him and Betty had a relationship of ups and downs but they stick through all of it and Betty was devastated and jealous when Matt goes for Amanda. Matt has passion and love for Betty, even hoping for her to be pregnant so that they can be a family. Where can you find such guy? I’ll be really mad and quitting the show if they go for Daniel/Betty and Matt doesn’t come back for Betty and propose to her :(

Daniel and Betty will be the perfect ending. This casting is a non issue. Its a bad date.

it scares me that seth rogan-esque is considered a term now

Gosh. Is this Ugly Betty or Gossip Girl?

Rich could be a good bridge between Matt and Daniel. Matt was annoyingly cute, Rich is charmingly so, and Daniel is Eric Mabius. This way, Daniel and Betty can have the cliffhanger kiss we have all been waiting for, or many of us who haven’t gotten on board for her other whiny relationships.

Well she surely does get all these cheeseball guys… that dentist was really weirdo. She needs to go back to Gio the deli guy. Sheesh at least Matt looked good but that was doomed to fail since Matt was so fickle.

I love Rich Sommer on Mad Men –I still loved Henry with Betty the best. His storyline last season with his dippy girlfriend left him kind of open for Betty, even though they kissed goodbye before they went back to Matt. I just didn’t see the sparks between Betty and Matt as there was between Betty and Henry. Betty and Daniel? I really hope NOT! Bring back Henry!!

How about Betty and NOBODY since that’s who she’d be with in real life.

  • Sana

I want Matt back!He was the best out of all Betty’s boyfriends!

  • Jason

For the love of Pete, why can’t Betty just be single for a little while? Or better yet, why can’t Gio come back?????

  • shaz10

Betty belongs with Daniel.End of story and really of it end of story if that is what we got.I’d be happy with that. The two of them together make each other complete.

    • gatorwk

I respectfully disagree that Betty belongs with Daniel, I prefer Matt, especially if they have him more directed once his tour is over (he has loved Betty for who she is regardless of external appearances). Anyway, most everyone has their preferences for who Betty should end up with. If this is the last season, introducing a new love interest, even if brief, seems silly to me. I do feel somewhat bad for those who want the Betty/Daniel pairing if is is not even entertained. With that said, whomever will end up with Betty, or maybe no one at all, needs to have the relationship developed and not just pieced together if this is the last season.

  • Mandy

If they are seriously thinking about Betty/Daniel, they should start building it now. If they aren’t, then they should let Betty finish her show independent, on her terms. While a single episode with a “date from hell” could be funny, I think nobody is in the mood for a new love interest right now.

And for the record, I LOVED Gio and thought the show’s biggest blunder was writing him off. That said, at this point, bringing him back into Betty’s life would be even more cumbersome than creating a new love-interest character. That ship has sailed.

  • Elphie

Daniel and Betty? Gross. Unlikely to happen in reality. Enough with the “Inner beauty” crap, a man like Daniel DOESN’T fall for one like Betty. They’re friends, best friends, anything more would be GROSS and highly surreal.

  • dettyfan

I’m all for Detty now. I think friends can become lovers too and no one is actually better suited for Daniel than Betty.Bring us Detty now !
