I love Alex O, and I loved Hawaii Five-0 but not sure this would be the right thing for him. I think others make a great point. “Remakes” of classic TV not exactly being career boosters. Alex is a tremendous talent. (I was totally floored by his guest appearance on Criminal Minds!). He needs and deserves something worthy of him. I would love a Moonlight resurrection. I disagree with it being a “failure”. If it did fail, it was because of CBS’s short sightedness. They hardly gave a chance before being cancelled. It obviously was developing a core audience and I believe would’ve proved to be a big success given time. Ok, whining over and stepping down from my soap box.

I couldn’t have said it better. After all, the 1st time around, unless you watched Ghost Whisperer, you NEVER saw a trailer for it. With the proper promoting, It could be HUGE!!!!!

  • Overdamoon

If Moonlight cannot be resurrected, I’d prefer Alex getting involved in CBS’s other project PRIVATE, an adaptation from James Patterson’s book.

    • dept.

Now you’re talking. When I read about the James Patterson book and the possibility of making “Private” a tv series, I thought Alex O’Loughlin would be perfect. I’m a big fan of Alex and would pretty much watch anything he’s in, but “Private” would be my first choice (if I had a vote).

  • Joseph

I’d hate to be in the backseat of a car with these CBS execs. They can’t seem to get the hint. No means no. Twice over.

  • eloise

hopefully he’ll say no ! such a bad idea and bringing back Moonlight would be a bad idea too.

    • LadyHawke_2006

It would ONLY be a bad idea if it were not properly promoted & if the behind the scenes DRAMA was allowed to rear it’s UGLY head again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Julie

No, it would just be a bad idea. He needs to move FORWARD in his career.

This updated version of Hawaii Five-O may not bear much resemblance to the original other than being set in Hawaii. It’s been a long time since the original aired. I think with good writing and good character development, this show could be a perfect fit for Alex, and it would get him back on a weekly basis sooner rather than later. I think it is unfair to judge Alex by the failure of 3Rivers. The show didn’t have much going for it, and even with all of Alex’s charisma, it was destined to fail. I want Alex back as soon as possible, so I say yeah! Hawaii Five-O!

    • Natalie

I love Alex O’Loughlin. But a reboot of Hawaii 5-0? The reboot of Knight Rider failed. Remember that? I support Alex in anything that he does, but I think he should pass on this.

      • Tiebaojin

But Knight Rider was stupid — both the original and the remake. Hawaii Five-O could be updated to only resemble the original in that it is set in Hawaii. Alex in an action show set in that beautiful state with good scripts and good promotion could be awesome.

I love Alex and my first choice would be MORE Moonlight – he was fantastic on the show.

I’m glad to see CBS sticking with him, he’s very talented and super gorgeous.

They should give him something with a bit of an off-beat-ness to it. He’s got a comedic timing in him that should be used.

Everyone should check out The Incredible Journey of Mary Bryant… he gets to use his real accent in it. Plus its an excellent miniseries.

    • Mandy

Um, that wasn’t his real accent at all. That was an English accent and the entire cast had English accents because all the characters were from England.

  • Snarf

    Sold.

  • K

I want to see him back on TV but hope he doesn’t not choose a remake. A new show would be better. Remakes on tv are generally big time fails.

  • Viv

I agree that Moonlight should be brought back. It was a good show and deserved at least three seasons. Why do networks take these shows off so early. It takes time to find an audience. I didn’t discover Veronica Mars or Moonlight until after they were canceled. Give the shows a chance. Alex would be a great lead for a movie adapted from an old romance novel written in 1908 that I’ve loved since I was a child. Think Pride and Prejudice, but I don’t know how to contact his agent. I hope they find some wonderful show for him, but Hawaii Five-O isn’t it.

  • Sparky

What are the serious chances of Moonlight been picked up again??

    • Linda

      Remote and not at all.

  • M

I wish this guy would move back to Australia and take all of his deranged fans with him.

    • Viv

I find your comment very humorous, but I still like Alex and would like to see Moonlight brought back. Besides I wouldn’t mind moving to Australia, but it’s too expensive! I would also like to move to France. Perhaps I am deranged, but at least I have a sense of humor.

    • Lisa

Hmmm. What exactly do you have against him, M?

  • Em

As I type, my DVR is currently recording chiller’s Moonlight marathon. I like O’Loughlin, I do. If Moonlight came back on though, I couldn’t watch it with that nut Sophia Myles. But Jason Dohring and him– priceless. I look forward to his new show.

    • Julie

I agree she is hard to watch! They guys were great though and THEY had chemistry to spare.

  • LEMOR DAVIDOVICI

i think it will better if alex o’ loughlin will be back in moonlight or in any other vampire tv show like true blood or vampire diaries alex o’ loughlin will not be good for the tv show hawill five o.

    • Julie

He has said he probably will NOT be playing a vampire again and doesn’t want to keep playing the same character. Please.

  • Lucia

The only thing I want from CBS is more Moonlight. Vampires are hot and CBS knows it , then, Why not bringing it back?. CBS tried to make us swallow Three Rivers and it didn’t work. Now they want to try again with this silly remake of a really old show. Won’t work either. This Moonlight fan didn’t watch Three Rivers and won’t watch this either.

    • Julie

      Bye-bye then.

  • michael butts

At least HAWAII FIVE-O was a good show–remaking it might be fun. KNIGHT RIDER was a rotten show the first time around. We definitely don’t need any more vampire shows. Only teenybopper girls with hormonal imbalances care about vampires.
