If you’re one of the (many) True Blood viewers who suspected there might be fallout from Bill “donating” blood to save Sam’s life in the finale last September, go ahead and give yourself a gold star. The show’s boss, Alan Ball, tells me that in season 3, the hunks will forge “not just any connection, an erotic connection.”
How erotic? Ball wouldn’t say. But at least he was more forthcoming with regard to another upcoming same-sex couple-to-be: Lafayette and his new love interest Jesus (played by Southland‘s Kevin Alejandro). Bon Temps’ resident V peddler “is very guarded, and Jesus is a guy who is willing to knock down some of those guards,” he says. “[Though] it’s not an easy relationship, they have a lot in common. They’re both shamans of sorts, healers, so there’s a reason they get brought together.
“But,” he emphasizes again, “it’s not going to be easy.”
So, thoughts on a Bill/Sam flirtation? Too far-out or not far enough? And do you even care, so long as the subplot leaves Sookie free to explore her attraction to Eric?

I have to agree. I think it is a stupid idea. Why can’t the blood bill donated just enhance sam’s “power” or something like that? Why does everything have to be about sex? idiotic.
I know it doesn’t really go with the books… but just imagine the look on Sam’s face when he has an erotic dream about Bill and tell me that won’t be worth seeing it.

Agreed! I almost think Ball makes these changes to the storyline just for the “gasp” factor. Yes, we know True Blood is one of the more racier shows on television, but can we stick just a bit closer to actual story-lines?
I don’t know all of the Ann Rice novels showed those vampires having erotic thoughts of both men and women. Vampires are very sexual beings and that was part of their lure. They could capture their prey due to their sexual desire, they hypnotized victims. So since Ann Rice wrote it along with novelist like Bram Stoker surely it is part of the overall characteristics of vampires. When will they have Adam Lambert do a guest appearance? I would like to see what they do with him for one show.
.. They’re not following them 100% already, there’s quite a few things that are different.. for instance, Lafyette died in the 2nd book.. (aka Season 2) an Eric’s maker wasn’t really Godric.. So getcha facts straight, an calm down.. this is going to be fun
because no one would watch the show if it weren’t interesting, and sex is interesting. Also sex between bill and sam is interesting. Not only because they are two men, but because they don’t like each other. I love it personally. I can’t wait to see more of it.

Exactly! The people that say it is idiotic, need to remember what happen to Sookie after she fed off Eric’s blood. Why would it be any different, just because it is two men. They now have a connection. In vampire mythology, they equally feed and turn both men and women. The feeding is actually an erotic metaphor. They are bisexual creatures, the same as all species in nature, including us. That is if we were not so intensely homophobic and able to admit our same sex feelings.
As long it’s only dreams otherwise, that breaks character with Sam. He doesn’t like Vampires.
I see Sam as the guy who would protect others from Vampires. But now I wonder if he won’t be also starring at their neck veins and find himself drawn to others for no explainable reason only to smell their blood. Ha! Like he has to start stopping himself from being a vampire in spirit.

I find Eric to be the distraction – a pretty distraction – but one nonetheless. Bill and Sam are my favorite characters so any interaction between them make me a happy, happy camper.

Well…I’m trying to be polite here. It would be different but if it is done artistically I guess they could do something. If I could suggest that the cop be caught with his “pants down” and Sam jump out and be the hero in it then sounds okay with me. It would be funnier to catch Andy in an Awkward situation by Sam and Sookie or another and then have Sam and Sookie fix the infraction. Andy naked isn’t really my cup of tea. Next!
No, not weird at all. I mean, the character of Andy doesn’t appeal to me, sexually, but the actor does. Loved him on “The Wire”. As far as perfect future hookups though…how about Eric and Alcide? Wouldn’t mind seeing that scenario !!!
