I’d like to add another entry to EW.com’s 12 Reasons We’re Psyched for Caprica list: James Marsters joins the cast on March 5! As previously reported, the Buffy vet plays Barnabus Greely, an enigmatic and dangerous leader in the monotheist world. In other words, he’s Spike minus the fangs — hence the reason I’m psyched.
Caprica premieres tonight at 9 pm/ET on Syfy.

I didn’t watch BSG, but I’ve been thinking about giving this show a shot. This casting has just pushed me over the edge. I’m psyched too, now.
I love Battlestar, but I think you may be in a good spot. Watch Caprica first and when the show is completely over then start Battlestar! That would be perfect viewing since Caprica is a sequel.

Cripes! With all the Caprica hype going on lately, I completely forgot that I read that he was going to be part of the series. I was getting a little overloaded with the Caprica ads (ahem, enough with the pop-ups EW!), but this posting has completely re-ignited my enthusiasm for the show.
I tried to watch the Caprica premeir because I knew James Marsters was going to be on it but I found it very boring. O.K., not VERY boring, just boring. I just have so much to read – including fan fiction starring Spike. But I will try again for James.
