More Mad Men

Exclusive: 'Desperate Housewives' lands 'Mad' man Sam Page

Sam Page is going toe-to-toe with another fiery redhead.

The actor, who plays the wayward husband of Christina Hendricks’ Joan on Mad Men, is joining Desperate Housewives for a multi-episode arc as Jeremy, a well-trained cook who idolizes Bree (Marcia Cross) and her old-fashioned values.

Page’s first episode is slated to air in late February. Coincidentally, that’s right around the time the in-demand Shark alum kicks off a recurring role on ABC Family’s Greek as a campaign manager and potential spoiler in the Cappie/Casey romance.

    oh wow, he’s in everything!

    • firemendate

      He’s hot!

  • brynna

    yay for Sam!

  • Cece

Cool! I <3 him. Ever since he was Trey on All My Children. He's pretty …

  • Taylor

He will always be the guy from Point Pleasant to me.

    • Sam

Me too. With his shirt off and whistle backwards.

    • Wayne

      LOVED him in Point Pleasant.

  • M

HATE his character on Mad Men, but he is really hot.

    • erin

I’m seriously waiting for Joan to kill him. Bashing his head with the lamp was a good start. :)

      • Amarantha

        Does wayward mean rapist?

      • hoganbcmj

It was a vase, but, yes, it was a good start. I’m thinking they’re going to send him off to war and have him die …

      • Cheery

@hoganbcmj, Actually (and unfortunately) post finale Matt Weiner pretty much squashed that idea, stating things usually don’t happen the way we want, and bastard weasels somehow manage to escape war unscathed.

      • M

ARE YOU SERIOUS! Joan doesn’t deserve to be treated the way he treats her. At least she’s at Sterling Cooper Draper Price.

  • LAnewbie99

This is the first time I’ve seen him, but as far as I’m concerned, he should be in everything because he is GORGEOUS!

    • Jen E.

Same here! Damn. Where has this guy been all my life?

  • Gabby

And people get mad at women who trade on their sex appeal to get jobs in entertainment. A reversal of that scenario is what’s happening in TV land (but with considerably less backlash): Mehcad Brooks, Gilles Marini, Chace Crawford, Jesse Williams, Paul Wesley, this guy, etc. The only reason they seem to get these roles is not because they’ve made their mark as actors, but because they’re studs.

    • Cece

And I’m OK with that :)

    • LAnewbie99

      And the problem is…?

      • John

LOL, I think her point was that horrible actors that are famous because of their looks get considerably less hate than their female counterparts.

    • Mandy

Wow, only 100 years into the film industry and you’ve ALREADY FIGURED OUT that attractive people are more likely to get parts. This revelation is earth-shattering.

      • Jeff

You’re so wrong! This is a totally new phenomenon! I say bring back the days when only ugly master thespians won roles, true geniuses such as Tom Selleck, Tab Hunter and Erik Estrada.

  • Banana

I just hope he doesn’t become some love interest for Bree. That would be stupid.

  • Rose

So happy Sam Page is getting lots of work. Too bad I don’t watch Desperate Housewives. I may have to start watching Greek however…

    • Heidi

Please do. It’s an amazing show, and it desperately needs more viewers. It’s right on the verge of being canceled, so the show needs as many viewers as it can get.

  • chuckrdh

good casting..love desperate housewives…always amazed how they get great actors to join jane leeves..julie benz..drea de matteo wow

  • zoe

    He’s hot!

  • Mike

Sam Page was on The CW’s reboot of “melrose place” in the fourth epiosde “Vine” (which coincidentally was Josie Bissett’s return to Melrose as Jane Andrews Mancini) … he played the guy Lauren met at the hotel who roughed her up after sex

  • Treasure Trail

Smokin’ hot. Looks gay to me. A good thing!

    • RyRyNYC

      I KNOW!!! LOL.

  • Crystal Diane Stevens

Mehcad Brooks is a stud? LMFAO! He looks like something that fell out of my ass!

  • Gerald

On the contrary. Bree could make a wonderful cougar. Anything to get her away from Orson. It would be nice to see him and Bree together, and then bring in Andrew to disapprove.

    • LOL

“Anything to get her away from Orson”–PREACH! I could not agree more.

Bree the cougar would be more than slightly out of character, but it would be hilarious. Bree from goody two shoes to adulteress to cougar all in one season? Love it!
