'Lost' actors: What will be next for Terry O'Quinn and Josh Holloway?

The true sign of an ending show is when its stars book other gigs — but it’s unlikely fans will see a flurry of casting headlines involving the highly-sought after actors of ABC’s Lost. Though it was reported today that Daniel Dae Kim will play one of the leads in the CBS pilot Hawaii Five-0, it may be months before we hear whether the Emmy-winning Terry O’Quinn (Locke) or Josh Holloway (Sawyer) has been recruited to play the leads in other fall projects. Laments one Hollywood talent agent, “They all shoot through April, so doing a pilot will be difficult for all of them. These producers make it difficult on everyone in working out conflicts.” CBS was able to snag Kim (Jin) because Five-0 will film on the big island, where Lost is shot. He’ll play Detective Chin Ho Kelly in the update of the ’60s cop drama (the role of Detective Steve McGarrett has not yet been cast).

But there are at least two Lost actors who won’t be sending out resume photos this spring – if ever. Matthew Fox (Jack) told reporters at the show’s annual Sunset on the Beach premiere last month that he either wants to do film or “something else entirely.” Evangeline Lilly (Kate) also told E Online that she wants to bug out of TV and do charity work in Rwanda. “I’m not passionate about acting the way you probably should be to call yourself an actor,” she told E Online’s Kristin Dos Santos. “I want to have some quiet space … drop off the radar a little bit and enjoy a little bit of normalcy again.”

Sawyer (josh Holloway) should join the cast of true blood while Ben (michael Emerson) should be the next batman villain or the next villain on dexter. OOO how sweet would it be to see Michael C.Hall and Michael Emerson acting together.

    • Trish

That’s such a great idea, I love Dexter and True Blood. Hopefully someone in Hollywood is already working on this!

    • mario

i am drooling at the mouth right now!

      • Bill

Drooling at the mouth, eh? Is there another orifice you can drool from?

      • dustin

        Shut up Bill, you dumb@ss

    • Andy Toutant

Agreed, Michael and Michael would make some emmy winning tv for sure

  • Mells

@Moe – hmmm, as menacing as Michael Emerson can be I vote for Terry O’Quinn to be the next Dexter villian. I think he’d be fantastic and has more of the physical presence needed to overtake his victims. How about Michael Emerson as a new baddie on 24? He certainly knows how to play a master manipulator!!

    • mario

an idea im drooling at the mouth even MORE!!

      • vincey

as opposed to drooling at the…?

    • Anne

OMG… either one of them would be fantastic on Dexter; man… why did you have to get my hopes up like this????

  • hugo

Michael Emerson could do anything he wants, I’d watch, with no reservation. He could even be on House, as the new Head of the Hospital, I’d love that too. I also vote for both him and Terry O’Quinn on Dexter. Josh Holloway should have a crime procedural of his own, along with a hot intelligent female lead. Or he could end up on V or FlashForward, as both are on ABC.

The idea of either Terry O’Quinn or Michael Emerson appearing on Dexter would be amazing. Sawyer on True Blood seems a little bit of an obvious choice. I think Hurly would be a good fit for the Big Bang Theory, even if its only for an episode.

    • lefty

Seems like Hurley should get out of acting.

    • psyche

i hadn’t thought of that! hurley on the big bang theory would be great (he could play himself, a la wil wheaton/summer glau), and get dragged into a time-travel discussion with sheldon. miles could come too!

      • Sarah

        Love it.

  • gob

    stop drooling

  • Jacob

I like what Evangeline has planned; after a run like that, I’d want a break too.
I’d love to see Michael Emerson do something NOT like Ben. He’s a talented actor, and no doubt one of the show’s greatest assets, but let him spread his wings. Maybe now he’ll join his wife on True Blood, but as a good guy…

  • Sarah

I’d love to see Hurley on Chuck as an employee at the Buy More. As for Josh Holloway…something that requires he be shirtless. A lot.

    • lefty

His body leaves a lot to be desired…

      • Krys

        Jealous much?

  • Corey

I need more Terry O’Quinn. He needs to get a gig (film, television, whatever) soon because I don’t want to go a year without seeing him on the screen.

  • Yes

I respect Evangeline Lilly’s decision. Maybe Fahey (plays Lapidus) had some influence on that decision? Didn’t he take years off to do work in third world areas?

  • Big D

I’m really psyched for Hawaii Five-0!! Good to know that Daniel Day Kim will be on TV. He is over-shadowed on Lost but I think he could carry a show as half of a leading pair.

  • mark in nyc

Terry O’Quinn as the Vulture in the next Spider-man film.
Michael Emerson as the Riddler in the next Batman film.
Josh Halloway to replace Gerard Butler in any movie he is cast in cause he is not good.

  • Rebecca

Evangaline Lilly is a cool chick. I love that she doesn’t just fall over to be an actress… she sets a good example for our young girls. Becoming an actress isn’t the ‘ultimate’ … helping others is. This mom says … “Thanks Evangeline !”

  • Josh

    Hey Lynette,

LOST isn’t shot on The Big Island (aka HawaiĘ»i). It’s shot on Oahu.

    • charli

yes but Daniel popping over to the Big Island for a couple of days is a lot easier than him having to come back to LA or NYC etc.

      • Josh

Right… I’m not questioning the relatively short flight over to The Big Island. Lynette just got her facts wrong: LOST isn’t shot on The Big Island.
