Another Friday Night Lights alum has scored a pilot.
Sources confirm that Minka Kelly has landed a role in the prospective CBS comedy, True Love.
The project — produced by Matt Tarses of Scrubs and Worst Week fame — focuses on four friends looking for love in New York. Kelly will play Kate, who’s described as sweet, strong-willed, and Midwestern.
The news comes a day after Kelly’s former FNL co-star, Zach Gilford, joined the ABC pilot Matadors.

YES! Now all it needs is to not have a laugh track and it’s golden.
What an original idea for a TV show. I can’t wait to see Friends, I mean How I Met Your Mother, I mean True Love this fall.
FNL’ers still on my TV is a good thing. Here’s hoping both shows get picked up.
I wonder if all the pilots mean those FNL cast members are completely done? I’m okay with her Lyla and Saracen not being primary cast members, but a part of me hopes they both pop in now and then…
Good news! I love FNL so I really hope this works out for Minka and that Zach’s pilot works out! Although, I still hope that both can do at least one episode of FNL next season since it’s supposed to be the last season of the show.
Sounds blah but shes hot and I love FNL so I may tune in if it gets picked up.
I hope it’s good… she’s too cute not to be on television.
TRUE Blood and Big LOVE.
I love her! I hope the show is good.
The problem with Friday Night Lights is it pretty much ruined all other television for me. How can I not watch Gilford or Kelly and not think of them in Dillon, Texas?
I missed the Gilford news, which makes me happier than this does (she’s likable and cute, but wasn’t the best actress on FNL, and this show’s description sounds generic).
I do have to say that I loved her single scene in “(500) Days of Summer.”
Wow, she is gorgeous!
Smash needs a show!
Minka mania!
Love her, so hoping this is a good show, even though the premise is a rehash of a rehash of a rehash. Hmph.
