Marc Blucas has joined the cast of True Blue, ABC’s drama pilot about six San Francisco homicide detectives who set out to solve the murder of one of their own. The Buffy alum will play JD, a divorced father of two who’s still hung up on his ex.

Yeah I was hoping for someone who was a little more relevant in the Buffy alum…not Buffy’s rebound guy who served no other purpose other than the rebound guy. His stint of a season and a half was a little too long.
Wasn’t “Stupid Parker” the history major the “rebound guy”? He romanced Buffy, slept with her, then dumped her and she debated the morality of leaving him as a gift for Vamps. (Is it bad that I know this off the top of my head)

Actually, Maggie, she didn’t debate leaving him for dead as a gift for vamps, she considered leaving him for dead in a bar that was on fire. She dragged him out and then knocked him on the head.

She still clubbed him in the head. Pretty sweet.. he deserved it. Then again Buffy needed to learn how to just have a hook up lol
His character may not have worked in Buffy AT ALL…but he’s still a good actor. He might be very good in this role!
Uh yea I feel the same way. I was so hoping it was someone good and instead it was the lamest person ever to be on Buffy.
I have to agree with Michelle. I had exact same reaction. I was hoping for Nicholas Brendon, Juliet Landau, or Anthony Stewart Head and got Captain Boring. Lol

I felt the same way. So hoping it was someone like Nicholas Brendon or even Andrew Wells.
You can see Brendon every now and then on Criminal Minds. He’s not hot anymore, but hey, we all have issues, don’t weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?
God he’s super geeky on Criminal Minds…and round in the middle lol.
Where’s Emma Caufield?
She had the best comic timing of anyone on Buffy and was prettier then Sarah. I kinda got the impression the crazy outfits she got stuck in was a Lucile/Ethel thing.
I liked Riley on Buffy and I like Marc Blucas so this will be a reason to check out this show.
Didn’t they already do a show like this? Like about a group of high school students coming back to figure out who was murdered by whom?

Samantha was killed by her Grown up daughter. The creators revealed that.
Reunion was AMAZING but it got effing axed so they had to scramble to make up who killed her.
I love Marc Blucas, it’ll be nice to see him back on TV. I know most people don’t share this opinion, but I think Buffy should’ve ended up with Riley

I don’t do comics, but I follow Buffy “season 8″ and SPOILER ALERT Riley’s in it and he’s not so nice anymore.
Yeah I know All her boyfriends go evil except for the one that started out evil, he went good.
I liked Riley too and I hope the new series works out for Marc Blucas.
Oh yay! I’m so happy to find other people who liked Riley. I started watching in Season 5 (and then rapidly caught up on reruns, courtesy of FX) but I have to say that I always liked Riley much better than Angel and thought he was a much better boyfriend for Buffy. Angel was far too mopey.
I thought it was the healthiest and most normal relationship she had. I was sad when she screwed it up.
This would be news if it was about a “Buffy” alumnus who could actually act. Or one whose character was so worthless that the only bright spot of his tenure on the show was when Angel beat him up.

I never loved him on Buffy but he did a guest spot on an episode of Castle a couple of months back and was really pretty good. I’ll check out his new show just for that.
ITA. His Castle ep with Annie Dudek (“The Third Bullet”) was awesome. I think he’ll do well in a cop show.
“The Fifth Bullet” was the name of the epi.
And I agree he sucked on Buffy, but I’ve seen him in other things and he’s actually a good actor.
I’m not going to judge this show until I know who his fellow cast mates are.
He also did a movie called Thr3e that was pretty good. I saw it on Netflix instant view and really enjoyed it.
He was also on Lie To Me and apart from the funny beard, he was quite good. I liked him when he was on House, but I think his best guesting was in Castle.
He did a good job in The Jane Austen Book Club too.
Didn’t like him on House but that was more to do with the bad writing. Liked him a lot of Castle and Lie To Me.
I like Mr. Blucas. Good for him to be getting some work.
You all hate him because Buffy loved him…for awhile at least. She can’t always pine away for Angel. He surely wasn’t waiting around for her (Darla, Cordelia, whoever). Blucas is awesome when he’s not romancing Buffy.
That’s not at all it. I wasn’t even really a Buffy/Angel shipper. I just think he’s a wooden actor… When I saw Ausiello’s headline on Twitter, I really hoped he’d be talking about Alexis Denisof (though I guess he probably would have said Angel before Buffy) or James Marsters..
As a Spike/Buffy fan myself (“Spuffy” I suppose) I certainly wasn’t against the actor, so kudos to Marc Blucas! You deserve a great role!

Nice to see Marc working on TV again. I loved him on Buffy, not because I am a shipper but because all the components of the Buffy saga made it as great as it was, including Riley and S4. Now if they would just cast him as Captain America!
Great…ANOTHER cop show. There aren’t enough of those. Maybe we can get David Kelley to do another lawyer show while we’re at it.

And he was on an episode of Lie to Me earlier in the season and I didn’t recognize him until the very end shot of his screen time.
I saw that episode..i was like ohhh loookie SPIKE!! lol. Is he on Caprica? Must pay more attention to that show now.

Nevermind. It was called “Dark Blue”.
I saw Buffy A lum and I thought it was one of the Scoobies. My first thought was Nick or Emma. But its Marc instead. Not a favorite character of mine at all. But he is a good actor at least. The show sounds intriguing. Remember, other posters, that the actor is not their character. He played rigid and boring, that doesn’t mean he is those things.
I have been waiting and waiting for James Marsters to show on Caprica. I swear fans of his have to suffer long waits to see him onscreen again. HE needs his own show!
