Pilot Intel: Taryn Manning heads to 'Hawaii Five-0'

Actress-designer-singer Taryn Manning is joining Alex O’Loughlin and Lost‘s Daniel Dae Kim in CBS’ remake of Hawaii Five-0, sources confirm. She’ll play the series regular role of Mary Ann, the younger sis of O’Loughlin’s Det. Steve McGarrett.

    I don’t like her =/

But very tappable. Just put her in a metal bikini.

    Ugh. Not a fan.

Taryn Manning? Awful choice! Now your going to give McGarrett an annoying younger sister! C’Mon CBS, use some common sense.

    • Mitch Logan

She was pretty annoying in the original series.

    • Hillary

it’s like CBS wants it to fail.

I don’t like it, no sir i don’t like it!

  • Rose

I’m a little disappointed but at least she won’t be a love interest or anything like that…

  • Yes

Hopefully this is one of those characters that’s only in the pilot. Why do we want to see the character’s sister? That makes it sound more like a soap opera.

Taryn Manning? Who lost their bloody mind? Poor Alex O’Loughlin… another series doomed from the start.

  • Alex

Oh god. All excitement for this show has just died. Poor Alex.

Thank you Matt. This is exciting news! I can hardly wait to hear more casting news for Hawaii Five-O.

  • Pete

For a reboot of a show I wasn’t really interested in, they’re getting me more interested with their casting choices. Kudos!

  • Davidsask

This is not a good fit, I think there will be recast asap!

I see the publicists have arrived.

My initial reaction is feh. What terrible writing AND casting! McGarrett doesn’t need a baby sister. That’s just stupid. And I bet she’s a rebel too and he ends up having to save her half the time too. What genius @ is casting with his privates rather than common sense?

I am hugely disappointed by this casting choice, I love Alex O’Laughlin, but I find Taryn Manning to be so irritating as an actress that I can’t watch anything that she is in. If Taryn is in, count me out as a viewer.

Remakes are always lame. And in this one the cast is a bad choice too. :(

  • Cookiep

Never heard of her. Who is she? And ditto to why does he need a sister????? They are losing me. Kim was brilliant casting but the other two? Adios.
