Pick a branch of the entertainment industry, any branch, and you’ll find stars who are as inextricably linked as is their animosity toward one another. Joan Crawford and Bette Davis. David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen. Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd. Gargamel and Papa Smurf. The list goes on and on but curiously does not include the pair who are the subject of today’s blind item.
Who are they? And how have they kept their mutual hatred a secret?
That’s for you to figure out. But what I can tell you is that when they worked together years ago, it was to great acclaim — so great that a lotta folks have been hoping they’d reteam ever since. Recently, a small-screen opportunity arose that would’ve allowed for exactly that to happen, only the ex-castmates said, and in no uncertain terms, hell to the no. They both still took the gig, mind you, they just insisted on never being made to act opposite one another.
I’d try to build in an extra clue or two, but frankly, the thought of them hating me half as much as they do each other terrifies me. And I’m not sure I could learn to sleep with one eye literally open. But you guys feel free to guess away. Though I won’t tell you if you’re right, I might let at least a few of you know if you’re wrong.

I don’t think it’s too random. The clues are: 1. They used to work together, and 2. they worked together again recently in TV project BUT had no scenes together. that’s got to narrow the field.

These blind items are more like a glimpse into Mike’s high school girl mentality, complete with an inability to keep juicy gossip to himself. Even though he’s not dumb enough to divulge what exactly the gossip his, he still can’t resist the urge to run around giggling “I’ve got a seeeee-cret. Tee hee hee!”

Nope, they just appeared together at a fan autograph show this weekend. They were very friendly and chummy with each other, even in the VIP room when “fans” weren’t around.

Actually Gillian does TV and won great acclaim for her performance in Bleak House.
But in any event, it’s not them, while I’m sure they’ve had their moments, they’ve worked together since the series ended and have both indicated they would do so again.
I think they got along a lot better on the second movie than they did during the series. I don’t think there was ever any outright hatred. Although, if they hadn’t made that second movie, they would totally be my guess!
He is doing Californication-and Gillian is now i England with her family. But the buzz was that they never got along on the set, but when they transformed into Mulder and Scully, their chemistry was amazing. I’d love to see them only on Xfiles movies again.

i heard the reason why the reunion didn’t happen was because tiffani amber thiessen didn’t want to do the reunion because she wasn’t really working and didn’t want america to focus on that.
Thiessen is a regular on USA’s White Collar, so i doubt thats the reason for any non-reunion.

Kristin is just pissed that Idina/Elphaba got all the attention in Wicked (and the Tony) when Stephen Schwartz told Kristin it was her vehicle. These two do hate each other.

Oh, they SO hate each other. Wicked was delayed a half an hour once because they were apparently in some screaming fight backstage. Rumors, of course…but probably true. They’re SO different.
It may not be common knowledge to everyone but in the theatre world everyone pretty much knows that they aren’t the best of friends, so i’m not sure its them, but it could be!

Has to be. It’s one of the biggest shows on Broadway ever. Idina won a Tony. When the Wicked opened to London, Idina was in it and Kristin wasn’t. I’m sure they offered her a ton to open it there.
Kristen wasn’t part of Wicked anymore long before it opened in London. And wasn’t she even shooting Pushing Daisies by that time? That might be the reason why she wasn’t in the London production. So she shouldn’t hate Idina because of *that*…

Aw, crap, I think you nailed this one. I remember seeing Kristin on “Bonnie Hunt” promoting something last year and she was asked about those rumors. She looked really uncomfortable, but she absolutely denied it. She didn’t say, “No! I love her, she’s my BFF!” But she denied it. Still though, great actresses, both. You can fake anything… It’s strange that they hate each other so much though. Both ladies have had tons of castmates that they’ve re-teamed with, or former co-stars who sing their praises. So it doesn’t seem like either one of them is a stand-out b.tch or something. So weird to not get along, neither has a bad reputation. (Vs. Bette Davis and Joan Crawford– both were nutty hotheads, it’s easy to see them hating each other.)
I have to say…that’s exactly what I read in the National Enquirer (my grandma buys it..he he he!). A lot of their stories actually turn out to be true…just saying…

Wicked = easily by far my favorite musical. Idina & Kristin = two of my favorites. I pull for them in whatever they are in and Glee = my favorite new show. I love.

I’ve always heard rumours about Kristin Chenoweth & Idina Menzel having serious issues with each other – and they’re each appearing on Glee this spring – and any gay worth his weight in designer salt would HATE the idea of either one of them Wicked ladies being mad at him.

Nope. All the old cast members who are back on MP are doing a scene together in upcoming episode (Heather, Josie, Thomas Calabro, and Daphne Zuniga), unless it’s either Josie and Laura Leighton (whose character is dead and only seen in flashbacks) and I think people would love to see Jane and Syd together again…
