'HIMYM' First Look: JLo crushing on NPH

Here’s your first look at the March 8 episode of How I Met Your Mother, featuring a guest turn by Jennifer Lopez. The actress-singer plays a self-help guru who tries to seduce the Barnster. Or is it his tie she’s after? My lips are sealed!

I so tired of all of the stunt casting on HIMYM. I guess they’re covering up the fact that the last couple of seasons have been weak.

    • Jon

I agree. Time to pull the plug on this dinosaur. Who cares about the who the mother is anymore? Stunt plotline.

      • Michael

What? HIMYM is CBS’ #3 sitcom, behind the beasts that are 2 1/2 Men and BBT. Don’t be ridiculous. It’s great to progress the story but there’s nothing wrong with a fantastically hilarious plotline that this one is sure to be, after all it is a comedy show.

      • MSR

What progress? We’re still at the same point we were 5 years ago… with no clue to the mother.

      • RA

Guys it’s a sitcom not Lost. Enjoy the funny and don’t worry about the “mythology”. And if you think this show has gotten at all weak you clearly have a mental deficiency.

      • Mary

@ MSR. Not true. There have been some clues. Didn’t you see the 100th episode?

      • Nick C

When did this show become Will and Grace? This season has been terrible and i have been a fan since episode #1.I can’t believe it got renewed(it’s all about the #s)They should pick next season as the end date and wrap it up.

      • meetsingledoctors

        JLo has still got it

I just got into this show a few weeks ago, only because I love NPH. And I’m thinking of leaving already, because of the stunt casting. A few shows should just never go there, The Office for one, and HIMYM for another. Will and Grace cheapened itself for it, and was never the same quality show again. More like a cheap cabaret act that you can’t drag off even with extra long canes. Don’t, just don’t.

I think this season has been getting better with every episode. For example the Barney’s phone episode was really great, i think most of the men (and maybe women?!) have been in this situtation where they are not sure if they should commit or wait for someone better and so ruined a good thing…

      • bdoll

i agree that the episodes this season have been getting better and better but i also think that this season started off pretty weak. i am also getting a little tired of the stunt casting because i think it distracts from what made this show good and unique in the first place. bring the focus back to the characters and how they play off one another!

  • Olegas

    Marcos, I second that.

  • Deb

Stop putting Barney in all of these ridiculous situations! HIMYM should be better than that!

    • Mike from Jersey Shore

Did I just hear my name???
      Ahhh, yeahhhhhh!
      Front abs!!!
      Back abs!!
      Face abs!

      • Michael

I don’t know why but I ridiculously laughed out loud.

      • rebecca

        that is hilarious!!

  • KPryde

I think JLO looks hot! HIMYM dosen’t need stunt casting but its always fun to see the HIMYM gang with new characters that always end up resulting in humerous and fun reactions for one and all!

    • OCAMPO

      agreed

      • CC

totally agree! as for no new clues about the mother… didn’t you watch the 100th episode? i’m tired of not knowing who it is and wish they would just tell us and move on, but at least i can acknowledge they’ve given us clues.

      • :P

I know! Damn! Look at that booty!!

    • Mary

Agree! The episodes with Wayne Brady are still some of my favorites!

  • Vanessa

they’ve pushed it too far with the stunt casting this season. I’m tired of it. And can Barney get other stories that doesn’t really involve getting in someone’s pants? I know it’s his character but some stories with Ted or Marshall, just something different. Going around in circles and it’s ridiculous, how ’bout some character growth?

  • eve

I LOVE Jennifer!! Good to see her again, im a big fan of hers x

  • alex

he had some character growth. There’s so much growth of character a guy can deal with in such a small amount of time before his head explodes.

    • Vanessa

I thought he had made some growth after the whole thing with Robin, which was great but then he just came back to what he was. They haven’t shown me any stories to prove me he’s changed so far. Not saying I don’t like his character, I do but I want something else for than trying to bang women. It’s all so been there, done that

  • rebecca

i think it is the tie she is after!!

  • James

I’m tired of this stunt casting too. If they stopped focusing on the big name guest stars, they can come up with some pretty awesome plot lines that the previous seasons had.

  • Eden Lords

i think jennifer lopez is an amazing comidian..she really fits in

  • Tommy

Its not even that we are nowhere closer to finding the mother I mean look at season 2 little to no mother action there but still its the best season. It needs to focus more on its core characters and their development not stupid guest stars

  • Jerry

I’ll take a mediocre HIMYM episode over the best NBC has to offer any day.

    • Sarah

      AMEN!

  • DomeFoam

At least it’s not Britney again.

  • elida

I think it will be a great episode. JLo paired with Patrick it will be interesting. Can’t wait to see it.

  • rj

This season just hasn’t been up to par. Too much stunt casting. Too much NPH. Sacrilege! I can’t believe I just said that. I love him, I do, but the show has lost its center. Barney used to be a supporting character and now he is the star of the show – which is weird bc Ted is narrating this story to his kids. “Kids, I must tell you ab this one time Jlo and her big @$$ were all over Barney…” Weird. I don’t know why I’m ranting.. as someone said a couple of comments before, I too will take any HIMYM episode over anything on NBC anyday!!
