Pilot Intel: Kristin Kreuk and Jack Carpenter get 'Hitched'

Smallville alum Kristin Kreuk and Jack Carpenter (The Return of Jezebel James) are set to star in CBS’ Josh Schwartz-produced comedy pilot, Hitched, sources confirm. The half-hour sitcom revolves around — yep, you guessed it — a newly-married couple who return from their honeymoon only to discover that their relationship has only just begun. Kreuk is currently recurring on Chuck, which is also produced by Schwartz. It’s all starting to make sense!

What an original and refreshing idea for a sitcom. Yawn.

    • Stephanie Tanner

They should remake All in the Family – a politically incorrect show – now that would be a change.

      • websnap

        they already have, Family Guy.

      • LogopolisMike

Yeah, All in the Family was TOTALLY like Family Guy.**rolls eyes** Remember when Edith got raped by a chicken in a scene that went on and on forever.

(just kidding, I love both shows, and think it’s actually really interesting to see how our ideas of politically incorrect and confrontational TV have changed over the years)

    Great News!!!!!!!!

  • lime

It might be good…schwartz is known for good shows and I like kruek. There’s probably more to the show.

  • Tarc

Kreuk is utterly charming on Chuck, so I’ll check out Hitched.

    • Josh

Kreuk is on fire on Chuck,so hawt.and pretty talented too, can`t wait for it.should be good.

  • Kyle

A sitcom, unlike a drama, doesn’t need a great premise. It just needs a great writing staff and actors with good timing. Though it could certainly use a better name… Hitched sounds like a Fox show.

    • Jose

The key phrase of your statement is “doesn’t need.” Yes, while a sitcom does not necessarily need to be utterly original, it also doesn’t need to be the same-old, same-old. The premise doesn’t need to be one we seem to get every new season.

  • Ben

I love Kristin Kreuk and Josh Schwartz!
    Good for her!
    I’ll be watching!

  • CC

How is this unoriginal? At least it’s about newlyweds instead of families or friends who haven’t hooked up yet but will!

  • Don J

I hate the sitcoms that CBS produces, but I like Kristin Kreuk alot and like Schwartz, so if this gets ordered to series, I’ll check it out. Again, this is just a Pilot, it’s not guaranteed to get ordered to series yet.

  • Justme

It should be pointed out Eugene Levy is also casted for the show, so that gives me hope.

Good for Kristin though, I feel she will definantly come off better doing comedy then angst(as she does in Chuck compared to Smallville)

    • RLS

CAST. Eugene Levy is CAST in the show.

  • Doug

Paging Kristin Chenowyth to play a friend of the couple!

    • Momo

I love her, too, but she’s pretty old compared to those two. Maybe the crazy cat lady neighbor?

      • m.

She looks a lot younger than she is! Just watch “Pushing Daisies”…

  • Dee

    Awesome news!

  • Aly

    I’ll watch for her…

  • Lucas

I LOVE Kristin!! I’ll definitely check it out!

  • Thank god.

    Thank god!

Now the Clana fans can stop crying knowing that KK won’t be back for Smallville.

I will watch this. I love KK, but I am sick of her fans whining about Clark & Lana and spamming the SV_Writers on Twitter. I feel sorry for the writers, I really do.

    • mishka

      Clanaaaaaaaaaaa !!!!

    • Joon D

Actually, most of her fans don’t want her to come back on to visit a show on the graveyard shift on one of the lowest networks on TV. A show which can barely rake in 2.5 million viewers a week.

Perhaps you’re just jealous that the actress we root has a future outside the CW and doing Lifetime movies (Below the belt? Sorry to hit you with the truth).

    • Sama

you are one pathetic loser who can’t get past the idea that CLARK AND LANA are the couple of Smallville… you haters can’t help but spew your venom whenever the name “Kristin Kreuk” just comes up.. wow, this shows the power of CLANA because they are still chasing you apparently…

for “other posters’” information, the spamming of the writer’s twitter is a petition to preserve the CLANA love from being retconed or tarnished , is that too much to ask for the fandom that has been there and carried the show for all these years?

      grow up!

      • Mark

If you wanted to preserve the Clana relationship you should have petitioned the show end somewhere in mid season 5. I don’t think the writers could do anything in this season or next to make it look any worse then the relationship post Reckoning. lol

As for Kristin, good for her and her career. As much as I didn’t care for her character in Smallville, I always thought she seems like a nice person and hope the best in her career away from the show.

I am not a real big fan of “couples” comedies, but with Schwartz producing it I might give it a chance.

      • Josh

smallville is dying postKK departure.Let it end Jeez,Lana Lang was the one who brought most viewers to the show.Shame on sv writers if they try to make her memory look bad to pimp Lois.

      • Nerwen Aldarion

Do you guys even WATCH the show???? Since Lana left the show has recieved high praise, has still done very well in the ratings even though they moved it to the Friday death spot and season 9 is considered by majority to be the best season of Smallville in a long time. After the mess that LAna made in her return of season 8 very few Smallville fans miss her, she was voted the worst character of season 8 and season 7 at Kryptonsite.

I used to love Lana but after Power, I’m not sorry at all that she left. The show became a lot more interesting and now Clark has finally started to embrace his destiny and unfortunately for all Clana shippers, Lois is a part of his destiny. The comics even said it, Lana was his past before he became Superman. Now that the show is certainly going to end if not this year (hopefully not) then next year, it is time that he looked towards his future.

      • Decoo

Online fans are only small minority of general viewers,Lana has more fans and it showed on the ratings for those lanacentered episodes,AlMiles once said that.

      • Mark

If ratings are an indication of how popular Lana was, the show had nearly 8M viewers in S2 and when Lana Left it went all the way down to about 4M in S7. It seems like Lana fans fail to mention how the show has slowly been losing fans since S2(where Lana/Clana was a huge part of the storylines) and act like S9 it magically lost every fan it had since S2.

This conversation is ridiculous on all levels. Krisin Kreuk is a lovely woman and I wish her the absolute best. Her time on Smallville had come to a natural close. I liked her when she was on the show but I have not missed her and I do think that the show has been better now that she’s gone. Is that a reflection on Kristin? No. She’s lovely. It was just time for the show to grow up and in order for Clark to do that it was time for Lana to leave. The show has been doing extremely well on a Friday night and frankly the sheer fact that Smallville can STILL get a steady audience to tune in in it’s 9th season on a Friday night is a pretty huge accomplishment. The 9th season has been very well received by fans and critics alike. I don’t understand why it needs to be a competition. Clark and Lana had a beautiful first love type of relationship. But it was time for them both to move on as so often happens in real life. The show has now established a more mature and realistic relationship between Clark and Lois that I personally enjoy very very much and I feel is a nice tesement to the Superman story—which was always what this show was supposed to be about. There is no need to be so nasty on either side nor to be so competitive about it. I wish Kristin the best of luck on her new show. And I am enjoying Smallville this season with it’s more mature focus.

I’ve really enjoyed KK on Chuck and can definitely see her doing something light and fun. Will check this out for sure.
