Great. January Jones can do it alone but not Betty White. What’s wrong w/SNL.

    • A

      January Jones is not 80

      • jzp

so? A 7 year old can do it alone and January who prove she has no timing, but not Betty.

    • Jessica

Betty said she wouldn’t want to host the whole show. It was an article on this site. Sheesh, you could try reading.

      • jzp

In her interview w/Diane Sawyer she didn’t mention that. And one thing is she would’t do it and another to dismiss her because she is 88.

      • jzp

u need to wacht more vid with the actual people involve.

    • 4rocket

Most 7 year-olds have energy for days. So do most 32 year-olds. 88 year-olds, I’m not so sure. This is about taking into consideration an elderly person’s physical limits, it’s not about preferring January Jones over Betty White. Use some logic.

      • 4rocket

Ugh, my comment went to the wrong person. I meant to reply to jzp’s comment where he/she complained about January Jones getting to host a show on her own.

      • jzp

Logic: January has no talent for comedy and Betty do. Has nothing to do with age just talent. Betty is an improment for SNL. SNL hasn’t been funny since the mid 90′s

      • anna

Logic: Betty White is an old lady and doesn’t have the energy to host the entire show by herself. Why is it so hard for you to get this?

      • Jewell

People have your forgotten Cloris Leechman did Dancing With The Stars? She is her 80′s that is harder to do then host. I don’t have a problem if that was Betty’s choice lets not just assume she just can’t handle it.

  • Katie

If the whole betty white deal does go through, they should bring Sandra Bullock in to help her out instead of all the others mentioned. They are hilarious together. When Sandra gave Betty her Lifetime Achievement award…it was just great!

Why all the Katharine McPhee hate? Just because you dont like her doesnt give you the right to make fun of her. I thought you had more respect than that EW.

    • Me

I disagree. They have all the right to make fun of whoever they want. And considering how much she sucks, she deserves every bit of it.

      • Mike the Janitor

Just because you don’t like that he doesn’t like her doesn’t give you the right to tell him he shouldn’t make fun of her.

      • Anonymous

Ausiello i am completely sorry i commented on the wrong EW article! i lik your articles it was Ken Tucker’s that was making fun of McPhee, im REALLY sorry about that mistake. my fault.

    • Are you for Real?

@Anonymous–you are being pretty ridiculous. You hated all over this board and then you apologize sounding like you are a fan! Just ridiculous!

      • Are you for Real?

Oh, and it wasn’t your hate that got to me ( I am a Catherine McPhee semi-fan) it was your off-topic nonsense.

      • Anonymous

I didnt hate on this board purposely. I meant to hate on the Ken Tucker article (there are 2 articles about Betty White & Ken Tucker mentions how bad McPhee is), and so i clicked on this one without reading the title and it turned out to be the wrong one. i AM a fan of Ausiello i love his spoilers. It was a careless mistake on my part.

  • Mickel

Sooo excited for this to happen!!

  • Buzz

too many in-house former SNL /NBC stars… sure cameos by Amy and Tina, but not cohosting…and what has Molly Shannon done Lately that was any good ?seriously . Molly funny but hasn’t had a hit in a while so it would be weird/unwarranted to have her co-host.

  • Me

Count me in with the folks that wish they would just let Betty host it alone. She already said she would do it. Making her do it with other women is just lame.

  • james

Jane Lynch has a Bea Arthur vibe and her improv roots will serve her well. Awesome idea!

    • MaryJaneWatson

Yes, yes, yes. Great call- she would kill as our dearly missed Bea. Especially as Dorothy Zbornak!

  • Patukka

Old School Plea … How about bring in Rue McClanahan if she is healthy enough for a Golden Girls sketch and have Mary Tyler Moore and Cloris Leachman to handle Bea Arthur and Estelle Getty roles! And just for fun have Valerie Harper (who is working on Broadway right now)!

  • laurie

I’d rather see an entire episode for White. If SNL wants to bring back Fey, Poehler, Shannon et al, they should do it — each for their own show. Not a fan of the idea that none of these hilarious women can carry an episode on their own. With SNL’s track record, though, I shouldn’t be surprised that they’d want to devote as few episodes as possible to these hilarious women.

  • Mike the Janitor

Nonsense. Any of the women mentioned in the post has the chops to handle hosting alone. All this means in Lorne Michaels doesn’t believe in letting women host the show very often, unless its a trendy actress or young singer. (January Jones? Horrible.) SNL was on for decades before a single former female cast member got to host. Michaels just doesn’t think his desired demographic will tune in for any woman over 40, so he’s packing the stage and calling it “Ladies Night.” But it’s really just a ghetto.

  • Marv

How cool would it be to see Betty White retort…”Jane you ignorant slut!” !?!?!?! Count me on board!!!

  • Zoe

Awesome. I’d actually watch this SNL episode.

  • Fiore

Betty White does NOT need any co-hosts. She created television comedy, and these contemporary “women of comedy”, though funny, are not yet in her league. She deserves the full 90 minutes devoted to her, just as so many far less deserving hosts have received in the past. She can and WILL pull it off. Say NO to the crap offer, Betty. Just say NO.

    • A

      She’s 80 years old.

    • johnny

People! it is not about Betty white’s ability to host the show acting wise. Doing SNL is physically demanding. You pretty much have to work for a week straight, staying up all night, even as the host, Betty White does not need that physical toll on her pretty little shoulders!!!

  • Sharlin

That is LAME. It should just be Betty White.

  • jaime

Add jane lynch & vannesa williams!!!!

    If not just her alone!!!
