A spokesman for Charlie Sheen announced today that the Two and A Half Men star will take time off to enter a rehabilitation facility “as a preventative measure.” “He has asked that his privacy be honored,” the spokesman said. “No further statements are planned.” It’s unclear how Sheen’s unexpected absence will impact production of CBS’ most-watched comedy. On Feb. 8, Sheen was charged in Colorado with felony menacing, third degree assault, and criminal mischief. The charges are connected to the alleged Christmas Day argument between Sheen and his wife Brooke Mueller. Sheen will return to court for further proceedings on March 15.
UPDATE: CBS and Warner Bros. TV, together with Men executive producer Chuck Lorre, released this joint statement: “CBS, Warner Bros. TV and Chuck Lorre support Charlie Sheen in his decision today to begin voluntary in-patient care at a treatment center. We wish him nothing but the best as he deals with this personal matter. Production on Two and A Half Men will be temporarily suspended.” Men has already taped 18 episodes this season, three of which have yet to air. CBS ordered 24 episodes from Warner Bros. TV.
I stopped watching a few seasons back, so I can’t say anything about the quality, but is it about time for the show to wrap up maybe?

No Jim it is not time to wrap it up. This is still a good quality and fun show to watch and I hope Charlie gets the help he needs and comes back to this wonderful show.
It went downhill for a couple of seasons but recently it has had some of its best episodes ever. CBS has ordered three more seasons after this one, so it will be on for a while yet.
I’m glad to see he is getting help, I hate to see him leave the show for awhile. I hope he is better soon and 1 and a half men won’t be as funny.
Well, if he were to leave they could just drop the “half” and call it “2 Men” cuz little jake aint that little anymore. or just call it “no men”,cuz id rather watch an empty screen than any of these charcters!!!!!

I am a terrible person. I read this and immediately thought about the possibility of this ending the “comedy” that just won’t end, Two and a Half Men.

Her love of the TV show doesn’t really raise a red flag as much as her comments about how everyone has problems. Last time I checked, no one I knew tried to call their spouse or had repeated problems with alcohol and illegal substances. Charlie Sheen is a train wreck! It’s not the media’s fault he’s a tool.

It isn’t funny to you. Remember, humor is very subjective and differs greatly from one person to another. 14 million people a week apparently find the show to be funny.

Isn’t entering rehab ALWAYS a “preventative” measure? That is, it prevents…..your untimely death, death of others, etc. Isn’t it always to prevent future bad things from happening? (since, after all, you can’t change the past….)
