Pilot Intel: 'Nip/Tuck' vets Walsh and Richardson join new pilots

Dylan Walsh has been tapped to headline CBS’ Untitled Michael Dinner Pilot, while Joely Richardson has joined ABC’s The Whole Truth.

The Untitled Michael Dinner Pilot, originally titled ATF, centers on an ATF agent (Walsh) who’s struggling to balance career and family.

The Whole Truth, meanwhile, chronicles the building of a case from the perspective of both the defense and prosecution. Richardson will play the prosecuting attorney.

The Whole Truth equals L&O. If it equaled ‘Boomtown’, which should never have had its dreadful season 2 (That was not like season 1), then I’d watch.

You win most convoluted sentence of the year! It would read better thusly, “I’d watch if it equaled ‘Boomtown,” which should have never had the dreadful second season that was unlike its first.”

      • Mandy

Ryan’s sentence structure, while clunky, is not incorrect, grammar fairy wannabee. If you were the REAL grammar fairy, you’d know that. But I think the real grammar fairy is off working on those in greater need, which are in high supply on the internet.

      • grammar fairy

I never said it was incorrect. I said it was convoluted.

Yay. So what’s the next project for Julian? Loved him as Cole on Charmed, loved him as Christian, now…?

  • lorna

this season of nip tuck is horrible. best of luck to the men and kelly carlson, i love them. dylan was great on everwood.

    • jack bauer

this season is really the worst nip/tuck season…very disappointed

  • lorna

and they have made matt a very, very unlikable character.

    • jared4ever

      They are all unlikeable.

    • reb

Yes, but Matt has always been unlikable.

    • Lyn

Yes, and remember the flash-forward episode they did, in which Matt turned out to be a doctor? How the heck does he get there from here???

      • S

that turned out to be a dream…i’m assuming to cover their bums since NO WAY would matt amount to anything except Crazy Eyebrow Dude.

  • KRibbons

man, i just couldn’t tolerate nip/tuck anymore after matt started robbing places dressed like a mime. Before that I absolutely adored it. I hope their future endeavors are great.

  • Buzz

IAt first I was kinda excited by Untitled Michael Dinner Project (aka ATF). That was because I’d confused Michael Dinner with someone else…. but no matter, Dylan Walsh is stellar and delivers the goods. I hope the writers do the same, cause that’s the whole of it…usually.

Julian McMahon is starring in the upcoming movie RED, with Bruce Willis.

  • William L. Connelly

Nip/Tuck has always had great twists and shocks, expected and unexpected. Good acting, great stars and guest stars. Ground breaking and an amazing show.

  • GG

I’m glad that they are all able to move. While Nip/Tuck started off great, the writing went down hill after season two. I’m glad it’s ending because it became a bit campy and silly.

  • Anya

Mmm.. interesting. Joely’s also going to play “Catherine Parr” on the last season of The Tudors.

  • Wendy

CBS co-owns The CW, right? Maybe to get some buzz about him, Dylan Walsh might guest star as Caroline’s estranged dad on “The Vampire Diaries.” That would be awesome.

  • Lyn

Good grief: More lawyers and law enforcement! Doesn’t ANYone in Hollywood have a fresh idea for a show?!

    • Shannon

Right??? Are there NO other jobs they can make a show about? Enough lawyers, doctors, and cop shows already! How about some good shows about interesting people.

  • Sarah O

LOVE Dylan Walsh! I’ve always thought he was better looking and a better actor than anyone else on that show. I don’t usually watch NCIS or procedural-type shows, but I’ll make an exception for him. Think Richardson is miscast as a prosecutor — not enough of a hard edge.

  • Brie

Glad that N/T is ending this year. It went from being a provocative series to a ridiculous soap opera. If they killed off Matt in the finale, I seriously wouldn’t care.

I don’t know about these new pilots, but in any case, I’m glad that Dylan and Joely are being snapped up for them. They’re pretty good actors. Hope Julian can find the same, and not some mess like Fantastic Four. He’s better than that.

    • Lala

Agreed. The campy soap opera-ishness of it all became a turnoff. It definitely has its moments, though, but I just can’t watch a whole season anymore. I think all of the actors are really great though, and I hope Julian McMahon and Kelly Carlson get on pilots/do movies soon too!

  • Don J

I’m happy to see Dylan and Joely get jobs so soon after Nip/Tuck ending. Pilots are 50/50 on whether they will get picked, so hope that one of them gets regular work next season.
