I bet the life changing decision is going to have his father move in with him!

    • tejas

That would actually be a nice turn of events, as long as they didn’t cripple Jackson at the same time.

  • Chip Ramsey

As you may recall, Ducky’s mother is in a nursing home now (and the actress that played her actually is already dead.) Maybe Ducky has to do something about his mother and realizes he’s not getting any younger. Not obvious, but that’s what this show does!

  • Lori

Gibbs leaves, so do I. I would like to see McGee get a love interest. he seems to be the quiet sassne one and wuld like to see a mature relationship for him.

  • Ariel

No way they’d get rid of him. He IS the show. Everyone else is like his sidekick. I think maybe it might be more like a serious relationship for him that changes his character a bit. We’ve seen his dad have some challenges. We’ve also got Rena Sofer stirring up some chemistry. And wasn’t there a recent episode that stirred up issues with losing his wife and daughter? Can’t remember what it was but I think I remember something about that. Maybe his character is getting ready to move forward rather than be stuck over their deaths because he is most definitely stuck and it would be a great arch for his character.

    • irish

I think the episode with the wife/daughter is the one airing tonight. The mother-in-law from he11. It will be emotional without a doubt.

  • Gina

Just a thought but what if Rena Sofer’s character finds out about the man Gibbs killed (the guy who killed his wife and daughter) and has enough evidence to get charges brought against him. Or someone (Bell maybe) trying to get rid of Gibbs finds evidence that Gibbs committed murder (he did) and gets charges brought and Rena’s character defends him? Having the mother-in-law showing up could be the lead-in to it.

  • DeeDee

I think the bombshell will be that when Gibbs was very young, he got someone pregnant and that Sofer is his daughter. The reason for her hostility is that he was not there and is not acknowledging her now that he has met her as an adult. She will find out that he was never told about her. It is all in the eyes!!

    • Martin

What an interesting theory. That would certainly be in keeping with the “it’s never what the fans think” type of comments with so many of us, including me, thinking it would turn to a romantic relationship.

      • DeeDee

YEP…..look at his blue eyes and then look at hers

      • Ashtrash

Ew, there is no way they would have written in the implied sexual tension if that were the case. They almost kissed for crying out loud, there is no way they’d pull that switcheroo. This is NCIS, not a daytime soap.

  • maryann

Maybe I missed it, but does anyone know what happened with Gibbs’ relationship with Colonel Mann.

    • LisaB

In mid-season 5, Mann retired from the Army. As far as I can remember, there was no real closure to their relationship; she had made hints to Gibbs that she wanted to solidify their relationship, but he never said anything either way, so she left.

    • irish

She was one character that I didn’t like with Gibbs…can’t really say why….

    • Ashtrash

She retired and moved to Hawaii. They showed Jenny reading an article on it in a newspaper. She had a little smirk on her face, in an “I won” sort of way. That’s about as much closer as we’re gonna get with that one.

  • cjacobs5@roadrunner.com

Love Mark, if he leaves not sure I’d continue watching the shows. Have purchased all seasons available and love them all.

  • corbs783@yahoo.com

I can’t believe people don’t like Tony. He has been on the show since day one and is absolutely a key character that without the show would suffer! Gibbs is great and I love him and he is the heart of the show but Gibbs needs Tony and Tony needs Gibbs! In my opinion if they were going to get rid of any team member they could get rid of MaGee and still survive/

    • tejas

Dumping Ziva makes more sense than losing any of the four core characters (Gibbs, Tony, Abby and Ducky). McGee fits in much better than she does.

      • KB

I love Ziva. She and Tony have a”tension” that is intersting and she has a more interesting character than Kate. I also like the “tension” that sometimes shows up with Abby and McGee. They all make the show but not without Gibbs.

      • KB

        Make that typo say “interesting”.

  • chargersangel

They would be crazy to get rid of him I would think the show would not last as he makes the show.

I was thinking that what they may do is have it somehow that his wife and daughter are still alive and they have been in witness protection all these years. They may somehow spin it that way and then he will need to decide if he stays with NCIS or go be with his family.

That would be the best cliffhanger for the season

  • Allison

I was freaking out that Mark would be leaving!
This eases some of the worrying.

    I hate Rena Sofer’s character.
No good can come from her.

  • Dav

OMG people come the h*ll down. Of course Harmon isn’t leaving the show. Use some common sense for gods sake!! The producers do stuff like this all the time. Say “BIG CHANGES” will happen to get the fans all stirred up and talking about the show and then the change ends up being something silly like buying a puppy. For all we know the life changing event will be Gibbs giving up coffee and everyone will be affected because he will be in a bad mood and take it out on them. Just wait…you’ll see….

  • Bill Kraft

Not to worry. Gibbs is not leaving. You don’t remove the linchpin unless you want the show to collapse. The CBS “suits’ can’t be that stupid.

    • tejas

Never underestimate the stupidity of suits. :-)

  • James York

Leave Mark Harmon. The writers forget that we have seen these characters for a long time. The characters do not grow or change and they behave just the same in all the many years of episodes. Ya Think maybe some of them could grow up and act differently??? Maybe??? A little??? They are all boring now… same’ol same’ol same’ol – new is nice.

    • Ashtrash

Have you watch the entire series? Go back and watch some of the earlier episodes. There has definitely been growth from every single character (except maybe Ducky.) They grow and mature, sure, but it doesn’t change who the person ultimately is…

  • Roberta

there is no ncis without mark harmon. I will stop watching it.
