Pilot Intel: Scott Porter headed to The CW

scott-porterImage Credit: Albert L. Ortega/PR PhotosThe CW wisely took Entertainment Weekly‘s recent Bullseye suggestion and gave Scott Porter his own show.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that the network has tapped the Friday Night Lights MVP to star in Nomads, an hour-long drama pilot about a group of young backpackers who work odd jobs for the CIA. Porter will play John, a magnetic and forceful college grad who is determined to find his missing brother.

The project hails from Ken Sanzel (Numb3rs).

    Hmmmmm, interesting.

This almost sounds like Supernatural 2.0 and I hope both shows r paired up on the same night. I hope they get a good lookin guy to play the brother. I hope it is Taylor Kitsch (Riggins on FNL).

This is good for a paycheck but he needs to be Captain America….Rex Racer forever !!!

  • Sammi

Awesome! Yet another amazing FNL alum getting a pilot! Hopefully this trend continues after FNL ends and all the rest of the cast get pilots too because I would miss the cast so much if they weren’t on my TV screen every week! Great news for Scott!

    • nic

Yay!!! FNL is my fav show so I’m glad to see the cast who has left get pilots!!

  • Ryan

Too bad that show of his ‘Masterwork’ never got picked up by FOX. Sounded cool

  • Pete

Great news, but I hope he won’t leave Caprica entirely.

  • Mike

*yawn* This show sounds so boring.

  • J

Another FNL’er with another pilot! Outstanding! But I guess he’s not Captain America then? Bummer.

  • K

Does this mean he’s off the Captain America list? Of the jokers on Marvel’s wish list, he was the only legit contender? Darn it all…

  • Anne

Interesting, not sure how much I like the premise of the show but he’s cool.

  • natalie

    YES!! loveeeeeee jason street!

  • Ro-gan

Good job, Scooter!! See, I told you: you can’t keep a good Ninja down. I still think whatever arseclowns that didn’t cast you as pre-Captain America are a bunch of tools who deserve a junk shot to knock some sense into them.

  • Me

Brilliant! Have missed him ever since he left FNL as Jason. Can’t wait.

  • dee

Love, love, love Scott Porter. The CW not so much. I feel like he could do better.

  • Josh

I hope this show gets picked up passed on the sole fact that it sounds different then the stuff on the CW. Seriously I get sick every time I see that new reality show promo. And Claire from Heroes show sounds like Grey’s Anatomy, the college years and the fact that Claire from Heroes is behind it makes it more like The Deep End Medical School. Let’s hope the CW continues to go in directions of Vampire Diaries, Life UneXpected and hopefully Nomads to make it a different type of network then it is now.

  • Aaron

Wait… what?!?! The CW is making a show that isn’t about teens, sex and/or drugs?!?! This has gotta be a sign of the apocalypse!!! Hahahaha.
