News that ABC is looking to transfer Desperate Housewives‘ Dana Delany to a new procedural next season would seem to suggest that her late-in-life-lesbian alter Read the full post.

Ugh, how annoying is this story line? I’m not annoyed at the nature of it, I’m annoyed at how random it is. Delay’s character is like the fly that won’t go away.

Life is random. Late in Life Lesbians (of which there are many) are typically caught by surprise when they find themselves attracted to another woman. So far, the Katherine storyline (all two episodes of it) is getting that part right. I’m expecting a major freakout to follow.

True! I’m a lesbian and my last few relationships were with women who never really liked women in the past. My friends have brought some out too. And it can happen in days jut like a straight couple meeting. Y can’t this happen if a plane can crash, tornadoe comes thru, and murders are everywhere without questions. It’s tv!

Hey, Marc Cherry…If you do let them have a happy ending, make sure that when they leave together, they have a “U-Haul” truck…LOL…Lesbians will REALLY get the joke…

And a home depot gift card!

I love the whole riding into the sunset thing, too. I have a similar storyline in my novel, Seeking Sara Summers. The world is crazy enough. We could use a few happy endings.

I’m not loving this storyline. It happened way too suddenly- in just one episode, Katherine goes from freaking out to sleeping with Robin. It seemed forced, and for dramatic effect. I would have liked to see it happen more slowly- evolved more like an awakening, a pivotal change in Katherine’s mindset. It came off feeling like a mistake and a weird “oops” moment, and I felt that was a disservice to what could have been a good storyline.

but, irl, romance is often fast. especially if it involves two women. (see the U-HAUL comment above…) i personally loved that it mimmicked that. i’m not sure how it could have developed slowly since Robin was already living in Katherine’s house. besides, it’s a 1 hour/week sitcom. if they’d written it to evolve slowly, we’d be another season or two away before they really started exploring the relationship.

I really hope she’s off the show. They gutted her character after she got with Mike, and now has no direction whatsoever. While you’re at it, take a few of the other housewives, and most of the writers with you.

I think Katherine deserves a little happiness. I hope they do get that happy ending and I wish Dana luck on her new pilot. I’m glad ABC offered her her own show. Hope it takes off. She really shouldn’t be on recurring or whatever it is in Desperate Housewives.

  • Scott

Yes! Would love Dana and Julie’s characters to get their happiness and end up together! Happy Ending please!

  • couchPotahtoh

A happy ending for a DH character is a welcome relief. I hope Dana and julie’s respective shows would do quite well.

  • Craig

Don’t forget, Dana Delany is also going to be guest starring in an upcoming episode of Castle. It looks like a real nail-biter, too.

  • LostSoul

Here’s hoping to more Julie and Dana…Not only do they make a cute couple; they’re both just so darn cute in real life!

  • Barbie

I just luv the whole Robin/Kat thing… dunno the look just so hot together!!!

Besides its not that strange a midle age woman explores her sexuality in a different way (it would be disaster if they got togheter in 1 chap but its great they idea of making Kat doubt and then realizing the truth)

I was getting tired of Kat being a stalker/sidekick/weak character but this twist its perfect. She deserves some happines!!

Cant wait 2 see the next chap!!

  • Azdolfan

I was so excited when this storyline started on my favorite show only to read it might be over already. I’m bummed if they go for my own selfish reasons, but wish them luck if they do.
