Finally. Fed up with the whole passive/aggressive, ungrateful thing. Take your millions and be gone already. Maybe the show will find its balance again without having to deal with all the backstage drama with this woman!

If she woulda died at the end of last season it woulda rocked! Ohh well make more room for Teddy!
I can’t imagine Grey’s lasting much longer either. Yes, there are still some great and original characters on the show. Izzie had so many great story lines, though. Why did they even put Alex & Izzie back together? Get our hopes up for this great relationship only to break all our hearts. I also hate that there won’t be a good send-off for her. I will miss Izzie/Katherine!

Yes, she can be rather blunt and off putting…but she’s one of the best actresses they have. And based on the ratings recently the audience isn’t really liking what they’re seeing with her out of the mix.

Wow, Grey’s has recently hit series lows and now Heigl is supposedly never coming back? They are going to have a lot of pissed off viewers on their hands. The sixth season has already been horrible quality wise. lol
Well, I’m so glad so many loyal fans come on here to voice their opinions…NOT! People who barely watch the show or don’t like it contantly bash the show they don’t care for. As if criticism from that point of view has any real merit. I love this show & have never missed an episode and while I love Katherine, the show is currently kicking butt this season even without her. I’m disappointed she won’t be back, but the hoops that Shonda had to jump through creatively to accomodate TR & Katherine’s abandonment of the show didn’t help. I wish her the best though.
Maybe they can use some old footage of her or a dummy made up to look like her and then blow it up for some reason. I’d be fine with that.
Good Riddance! The more she talks, the more I can’t stand her professionally. She’s done some wonderful things in her personal life, but she hasn’t displayed a single ounce of class in her professional life. From her insulting the Grey’s peeps for her 17 hour work day (when it was to accommodate a movie schedule), to criticizing rom coms like 27 Dresses and saying that Judd Apatow’s movies were sexist, I’m glad that there’s one less place I’ll be seeing her.
I totally agree with your comment. The only thing I’d add is that she’s risking the Shelly Long/David Caruso/Valerie Harper/Maclean Stevenson curse. She’s leaving a quality TV show that really launched her career (I know she did Roswell before GA, but that show didn’t make her as well known as GA did), and she’s risking antagonizing the same fan base she wants to make movies for. I don’t fault her for being ambitious and wanting a career in movies, but I think she should have followed the George Clooney model–work on your TV show until your contract is up, then leave. THAT is how to be professional.

Grey’s hasn’t been quality for a long time. If she’d left after the second, third season, then I would say she was abandoning a great show. Right now she’s just abandoning a sinking ship.
