Charlie Sheen back at work today

Filed under: News, Television and tagged: , ,

It seems a little odd when a production company issues a simple one-line press release saying a star is back on the set, but when your star is Charlie Sheen — and he’s spent some time in rehab while fighting felony, menacing, and assault charges — then an update on his status is more than just a little newsworthy. Warner Bros. TV announced today that Two and A Half Men’s biggest and highest paid star returned to the Burbank, Calif. set today to resume production on the sitcom, which remains TV’s most watched comedy at 14.96 million. Sheen’s off-screen antics haven’t impacted the veteran series; Men, in fact, posted its highest adults 18-49 rating (5.8/15) in three years on March 8.

Sheen’s time off didn’t have a huge impact on the show’s run; CBS already had three episodes in the can when the actor announced plans to enter rehab. Though a rerun aired last night, the next original episode is scheduled for March 22. CBS ordered 24 episodes of Men this season.

    thank god.

Ugh, I was hoping he’d never return. We could insert a monkey into his role and no one would know. It’s just the same, tired, used jokes anyway.

What’s that? The kid said something he shouldn’t know at that age?? Noooo waaaaaaay

wow, these numbers seem a bit high, 14.96 million ??? try again . Honestly, I have never heard of the show till i just went and googled it , the real figure is 6.7 million. not even HALF of what was in the article……. Man where do they get these figures from ?

  • Brian

something amazing about the figures is: if you add up the millions of watchers each show boasts ….. how many people do we have in america now ??? so what they are saying in terms of figures is 1 in 30 watches this show. I SERIOUSLY DOUBT THAT. how about the fact that in california (especially the central valley) most people dont have cable or dish , but over the air. how are those figures gathered. Keep circling back to the same thing again , dont i ?

    What a horrible sitcom.
Easy entertainment for the easily entertained.

I hope he got some new bowling shirts to wear.

People watch this show loved Charlie and wanted it back on air. It’s a funny show that millions watch. The other people who post negative things they haven’t really watched

Love this show….it has a huge audience from many age groups….While Charlie has his own personal demons, he is a funny, funny actor and the show is great!

  • gmoore

I still watch it, but not because I think Mr. Sheen all that entertaining. It is the character of ” Jake” who makes the show so funny.

  • K-Chan

Charlie Sheen is perfect for the role. I find the show hit and miss at times but I mostly enjoy it. Glad he is returning and hope things work out for him.

  • Jeff

The show is very funny & origianl with no apologies & sappy morals at the end of each episode like so many sit coms. I also have a feeling Sheen’s character is not a far stretch from his real life. Just my 2 cents!

Brian is a paparrazzi who lost a law suit to Charlie, probably. Yes, those of us in the central valley of California do have cable. We’re not hillbillies. Sacrameeto, the state capital (which Brian probably doesn’t know) is in the central valley. In reality, I think Brian is an old woman who wants more nanny state.

TV is just mental masturbation anyway.

    • bob

moving ever so slowly to porn, do u agree?

  • tim

nope- sorry for those who like it. it IS easy entertainment for those easily entertained. a load of corny, predictable one liners and canned laughs. completely cringe worthy. im not surprised alot of people in the US (and other countries for that matter) watch it though- if CSI can get as many viewers as it does.

  • Tim

Brian, just because you don’t watch doesn’t mean nobody else does. Head on over to http://en-us.nielsen.com/rankings/insights/rankings/television and you will see that for the week of 3/1/10 the show had 16,864,000 viewers.
