I would pay for any girl to be with Tony. I don’t have a problem with Ziva but I hate TIVA; I don’t know why but I hate that pairing.

Fainori, I can tell you why you, along with many fans such as myself, have a problem with Ziva and hate the idea of Tiva.

I have to admit that I loved Tony and Ziva flirting with each other in Season 3. I thought it was funny. However, when Ziva got jealous of Jeanne in Season 4 and then Tony got jealous in Season 6, I decided that was enough. Still, it is going on because Brennan seems to think he is fulfilling every NCIS fan’s dream with this teasing thing. Instead, he is making many people not want to watch the show. These little tidbits such as Ziva and Tony watching a movie together used to be fun because it was two co-workers who like one another sharing some time together. Instead, I watch the scene and think, “Oh, God, not another Tiva moment.” Even if it isn’t meant to be like that, I know that every forum where I discuss NCIS will be full of Tiva fans making more out of Ziva saying they are friends than should be made.

Anyone who has said that NCIS has not done this during season 7 has not been watching the same show I have. First, I had to watch Tony be upset and everyone defend him to Ziva. Then, when everything seemed to be going right, they threw “Jetlag” at us. Now there are the small moments of recurring Tony jealousy every time Ziva talks to another man. First, Damon Werth (who I think Ziva should date) and then Officer McCadden (the same man that will be in the next episode making trouble with Tony and McGee). As if that weren’t enough, even a small mention of Ziva having leftover candy makes Tony do a double take. Come on! This isn’t a high school drama, Brennan! Even Michael Weatherly says that any Tiva that might have been has long since passed.

Brennan should never have started this crap up in TOC. Tony saying he couldn’t live without Ziva has made this entire season a forum for Tiva fans to point at each moment and say, “See they love each other, they just won’t admit it,” while non-Tiva fans cringe and then say it was just a friendship moment and where is all the relationship stuff between Gibbs/Tony or Tony/McGee? Brennan should have let Tiva die when Michael Rivkin was killed.

As I said, I used to think, “Tiva, huh, maybe.” Then after the end of season 6 I was like, no way. Not possible. There is no way that Tony would want to be with Ziva after she attacked him when he was hurt. Pushed him to the ground and stuck a gun to his chest and then his leg. And worse than that, she told Gibbs that she didn’t trust Tony and could not work with him any longer. Since Abby knows what was said, it is pretty much a given that Tony knows what went on with Gibbs and Ziva. If the gun thing didn’t put a kibosh on the potential romance between these two, then this would. And even though Ziva apologized to Tony, she only did it after Gibbs told her he wasn’t the only one she should talk to, McGee questioned why she was avoiding Tony and Abby was very vocal about how it was Tony 1, Ziva 0. I don’t know about Tony, but I personally don’t believe an apology is heartfelt if someone is talked into it by several other people instead of figuring it out for themselves.

Any Tony DiNozzo fan knows that the one major thing that will really hurt Tony is people not trusting or believing in him. I have never seen such a hurt expression on Tony’s face as the time that McGee told him the only reason he was team leader was because Gibbs was gone and that he didn’t believe Tony was ready for his own team. Or when Tony found out that the bogus mission was Gibbs’ plan in “Dagger.” How about Tony’s reaction to Lee, even though she had been one of his agents during his tenure as boss. The hostility in his voice when he talked to her stemmed from the fact that she had been dishonest with him when he had trusted her. In the end, he felt sorry for her and went with Ziva to get her “daughter,” but Tony hates disloyalty and lies.

It takes a lot for Tony to trust someone and he gives his unconditional loyalty to those he does. When they don’t believe in him or they break his trust, it is bad. Ziva did both of these. She lied to his face about Michael, whatever her reasons, and then said she did not trust him. And before someone points out that Tony did not tell Gibbs about being undercover, that is true. Still, it is not the same. Gibbs was gone to Mexico when Tony agreed to take on the undercover operation. He promised Jenny he wouldn’t tell anyone else about it. When Gibbs came back, he kept that promise even though it killed him to do so (his apology to Gibbs in the bathroom said it all). As for Ziva and McGee, Tony was the leader at the time. The undercover operation was something they couldn’t know because of the “need to know” thing.

I think this Rivkin stuff is also the reason that everyone is down on Ziva. I know it’s the reason that I do not like her as much as I used to. Sure, I know that everyone makes mistakes…that’s not the problem. What is the problem is that Ziva, as I mentioned before, only talked to Tony after everyone called her on her behavior. Even after Tony basically talked everyone into the mission, since they all thought she was dead and went through that hell to get the man who had killed her only to find her alive, Ziva had the nerve to insult Tony many times.

A lot of fans, like myself, enjoy the Tony/Gibbs relationship or Tony/McGee friendship. However, these have been put on the backburner by scenes of Tony and Ziva. As if this weren’t bad enough, Ducky has even said that Gibbs took to Ziva faster than any other agent, even DiNozzo. I don’t see it. When Ziva first came there, sure they shared the Ari thing but Gibbs was not happy about having Ziva on the team. He told Jenny that and there were several episodes where he and Ziva clashed about chain of command. Now given, we never saw the first few years with Tony and Gibbs but from what a lot of people on the show have pointed out, Gibbs was a lot like Tony when he was Tony’s age. I understand that Gibbs is more protective of the women (he is a male chauvenist as Ducky said) but I have always felt that he and Tony were the closest (other than Abby) because they can read each other’s minds before the other one says a word. Tony knows how to handle Gibbs when he is pissed and often deflects Gibbs anger from his co-workers because he knows they can’t handle it like he can (think McGee in Bloodboth). Gibbs sees through Tony’s “clown” mask, even when the others don’t.

They are beginning to show more Gibbs/Tony scenes and this next episode is supposed to deal with the Tony/McGee bromance so maybe the writers are realizing that the fans want more of these and are coming around.

One more thing….I have enjoyed the episodes with Gibbs’ and Tony’s fathers and seeing back story, however, I feel that the cases have been lame this season. I used to spend the entire episode wondering who did it and now I can figure it out in the first few minutes. The writers need to find an equal balance between relationships and getting to know the characters while still enjoying the crime procedure part of the show.

Half the people on this post think they mean “killing off ZIVA”. But the title says killing off TIVA. That doesn’t mean ziva herself will actually die but tiva (the relationship between “T”ony and zI”VA”) will be killed.

Someone should make a “Do you like Tiva?” poll. 8D ohwhut.

  • M.

IM GONNA HAFTA SMACK A BITCH.
Hahaha. I mean okay, Tiva is a little over the top, but I like it. It would be fine if they threw a chick in there for Tony, but CANT THEY PLEASE PICK SOMEONE PRETTY. Her & Jeanne kind of have the same look about them & it’s weird.
    P.S. Ziva haters, leave.
I want to be her when I grow up.
