The CW confirmed today that the High School Musical alum is joining the cast of Hellcats, a dramedy in the works for fall from executive producers Kevin Murphy and Tom Welling. (Yep, that Tom Welling from Smallville.) Think Bring it On — the ensemble drama focuses on the world of competitive college cheerleading.
Hellcats is one six dramas the CW is developing for its fall lineup. The others include Betwixt (a thriller based on the novel of the same name), Nikita (an update of La Femme Nikita), Nomads (young backpackers earn money overseas by working for the CIA), an untitled project from Amy Holden Jones (about Harvard Medical School students), and an untitled project that takes place in Wyoming (a sudser about a family living on a horse farm).
Something about her I don’t like. Oh yeah, she’s terrible.

Tisdale is actually quite talented. Give the gal a shot!

I try to reserve judgment about projects until I actually see them or atleast know more than a basic premise. If I recall, “Bring It On” (the first one not the many sequels) was actually a pretty decent movie, so who knows this might be watchable. Who knows if this pilot will ever even see the light of day? They’re not going to pick up all six of these shows. There’s not enough room in their schedule. Although if they cancel “Life Unexpected” I’m going to be pissed!!!
Agreed, if they cancel Life Unexpected for this, I’m going to be ticked. They need to give this show a real shot and do second season pick-up. Like they should have done with Priviledged…

If they are smart, the producers of Hellcats will find a responsible, professional actress to replace Gail O”Grady. O’Grady is a manipulative false assuser who committed perjury in court. Making up sick stories of being stalked and using her innocent son as a prop for a gross heinous publicity stunt. Welling, you can find someone else better than that. O’Grady needs medical help not a tv show basically portraying herself.

Who’d want to watch a show about cheerleaders anyway?! Especially if Tom Welling is behind the cameras. Now if he was in front of them…….that would be totally different! I wonder if he’ll cast Kristin Kreuk too….she was a cheerleader on Smallville! Now that would be Hell(cats) to watch! Lol.

First of all we don’t know the whole story about gail o grady, you can’t believe everything you read. I really don’t think she would make this up. I’ve been stalked by someone I know and dated and church was most likely controlling.gail o grady is a much better actress than ashley, I know, she is my favorite actress.
