'Chuck' finale mystery solved: Find out what the [bleep] is going on in this photo!

chuck-first-look-1Here’s a second exclusive photo from Chuck‘s May 24 season finale featuring — major spoiler alert — the first-ever music video by Jeffster! (The first image can be viewed here.) If you guessed correctly, pat yourself on the back and then read on for more scoop on the video and the pivotal role it plays in Chuck‘s two-hour season finale.

“It’s the worst music video of all time,” declares executive producer Josh Schwartz, who declines to reveal the title of the song. He does, however, offer these two clues: The track was once featured in a horror Western-themed movie, and it ties into the episode’s big climax. “The way the original song was used in the movie is the way we’re using it here,” hints Schwartz. Adds fellow exec producer Chris Fedak: “The song narrates the action.”

What’s the song? What’s the horror movie? Speculate away in the comments section. And then pick up the new issue of Entertainment Weekly for more scoop on Chuck‘s sure-to-be-legendary May 24 season-ender!

    Chuck is still on?

    • Jim

You wouldn’t really know from NBC’s terrible marketing (I’m guessing. I TiVo everything and skip all commercials).

    • Hope

      Amazing isn’t it? =)

    • Harris

      What’s Chuck?

      • Hope

        Uh…It’s a show.

      • Mandy

If you dont know what Chuck is, then why the hell are you here? Geez, Chuck is the best show ever.

      • Shadow Step

The best two season show you’ll ever find.

      • steve

sorry shadow step but i believe this is currently its third season.

      • Billiam

I assume Shadow Step meant his comment to be a bash on season 3.
Personally, I’ve really been enjoying season 3, though some don’t like its slightly darker tone (which I am on board with), and other fans are getting mad about the fact that Sarah and Chuck still haven’t gotten together.

      • Mary

        you are stupid

      • whiny dancer

it finally happened so suck it shaw and all u who gave up on the show’s terrible plotting abilities in mid-season 3.

    • Sam

Yes it is still on! It is really good too.

    • eRIC

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WHERE THE HELL YOU BEEN!!!!!!!

    • GG

Of course Chuck is still on. Where the hell have you been? But ya, NBC does do terrible marketing.

      • bigfatgob

I believe the word you are looking for is YEAH. Ya is pronounced just like it looks, you know, like the YaYa Sisterhood. There is also the frequently misused YEA, which is another way of writing YAY. Get it right, get it tight.

      • CriminalMind

I don’t know where you got your grammar education, but “Yea” has two definitions – neither are the one you gave. Yea means either “Yes (especially in voting terms)” or “Yes, but also…”.

If you’re going to be giving lessons to people, you should at least “get it right” first.

    • Butterfly

of course it is silly!! what would make you think it wasn’t?

    • Matt

The music video has to be “Blaze of Glory” by Bon Jovi and the movie would be Young Guns II.

    • MarieKiki

Yep! And You have no idea what you are missing Joe!

  • GimplyGump

I’m an early poster .. I’m shocked. I have no idea what the song could be, but it should be a fun ride

  • Dave

    LOL nice

  • Andy

    FIRST!!!, I’m never first!!!

    • Andy

      dang

      • Hope

Sorry Andy you have to be pretty quick to be first on this board.

      • bigfatgob

What I want to know is why anyone cares? I can understand if you have something interesting to say, and want to make sure as many people as possible get to see it. Then I would totally get the desire to comment first. But to comment, “First!”, simply for the sake of beating other people to it is ridiculous, and really kind of sad. It’s bad enough that we all spend our time commenting on these threads, when we could obviously be doing better things with our time. But to take that elementary school attitude, and have such a weird desire to be the first commenter is just plain stupid.

    • ry

      wow, pretty lame andy.

      • Melinda65

What’s more lame: to post “First!” and actually be first, or to post “First!” and not be first? Trick question–it’s neither…or both.

  • Bastian

    Movie: Ghost Rider,
    Song: Highway to hell :P

    • KS

That movie WAS horrible, so I guess we can classify it as Horror.

      • B.Davis

Ghost Rider was amazing, I guess you think Avatar sucked too, and even Iron Man too?

      • steve

Um, you just compared two movies that were critically popular and box office hits with ghost riders which was neither.

      • whiny dancer

hahaha, hell ya steve thats what im sayin… lol and avatar’s plot sucked on balls so hard for being so unoriginal

  • bob

i am guessing something from the rocky horror picture show
    First Comment again

    • bob

crap i wait 2 minutes and i am not the first that stinks

      • KS

the funny thing is, you’re not even the first one to yell “FIRST!” and not be first (poor Andy swooped in ahead of you…) This teaches me to never do that first thing.

  • Aileen

I can’t wait for the finale!!! Im Chucked LOL

  • Tim G. (@rural_juror)

From the first picture, I was hoping it would be “Wanted: Dead or Alive” but I’m not so sure now… More Jeffster is always welcome though, I’m still humming “Fortunate Son.”

    • Steve

I think you are RIGHT ON! He says the music fits the scene, and the lyrics to this song make all the sense in the world:

It’s all the same, only the names will change
Everyday it seems we’re waisting away
Another place, where the faces are so cold
I’d drive all night just to get back home!

      I’m a cowboy
On a steel horse I ride
I’m wanted (WANTED) dead or alive
      Wanted dead or alive

C’mon can’t you just see Jeffster singing this with all their hearts?

    • Tim G. (@rural_juror)

Western! Maybe it IS some Bon Jovi!

    • LisaB

It could be “Blaze of Glory” from Young Guns II! I think you’re onto something, Tim G.

      • Gale

That was my first thought too. Perhaps it was the huge ball of fire. That is if it’s from a Western and not a Horror flick. The article seems to flip flop a bit on that point.

      • pop

my first thought too! it would be amazing!

      • Luca

well some say that young guns 2 was quite a horror for a western, soooooo

  • Philippa

    Ghost JEFFSTER in the sky….

I call ‘Ghost Rider’ tribute for this picture.

  • Peter

Can it please be the Rocky Horror Picture Shows sweet transvestite? That would be so awesome

  • Christine

dream warriors-dokken- they were casting for a young ellie and chuck

    • Matt

      That would be AWESOME!

    • Pete

Dream Warriors is exactly what I was thinking. Kudos.

    • Zaphod

What the hell Horror Western was that used in? I know it was in one of the Elm Street movies, but those are just plain Horror.

  • Tobey Cook

The only thing I can think of from looking at those screens you posted is Dokken’s “Dream Warriors” from Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. It goes right in line with the whole 80s vibe of the show.

  • skibum

Was lesbian seagull ever in a horror movie? Braaahahhahahah!

  • melissa

Haha this is so awesome! Jeffster rocks.

  • savetheoc

LOL it looks hilarious! can’t wait!
