oprah-gleeImage Credit: Fox; Adam Larkey/ABCOkay, now Glee has arrived: The cast of the Fox phenom is heading to Chicago next month to appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show!

According to an Oprah insider, the talk show titan’s April 7 show will be devoted to all things Glee. Highlights will include interviews with the entire cast and series creator Ryan Murphy, never-before-seen backstage video, and, natch, a show-stopping performance.

To further hype the episode, Oprah.com is launching a “destination page” for Gleeks. Beginning the week of March 29, fans will find character guides, Glee I.Q. tests, behind the scenes photo galleries, and more.

The Oprah episode airs the day after the Glee cast is slated to appear at the White House for the annual Easter egg roll. And then Glee itself returns the following Tuesday with the first of nine new episodes.

It’ll be wall-to-wall Gleemania!

    • mishka

Now that’s achievement !!! Kudos Glee!

  • Sam

    Glee + Oprah = WIN!
Now just get them on Ellen and my life will be complete!

    • Maria

yes! i would rather see them on Ellen

  • Kenbud

I hope it’s the ENTIRE CAST … and not the alleged core characters … there’s some love out there for the other characters too.

    • Cheery

Agreed. I don’t know how much more spotlight-hogging I can take from Lea Michele.

      • Jim

Please…enough with that. She is the lead so she is bound to get more press. She doesn’t do allot of event and so forth so she isn’t out there trying to take up the spot light. get over it.

      • Jim

I;m tired of perole getting made that the LEADS get more press. Get over it. The others know they are supporting characters and they get thier time too. But sorry the lead character are going to get more just the way of life. I do wnat everyone to be there but I’m jsut tired of people be silly aobut who get more of what.

      • Heather

Stop watching all together then. She Is a lead, and grow up. The show wouldn’t be nearly as good as it is with out her. And as stated she isn’t always out at clubs or out doing press so I don’t know where the spotlight hugging is at?

      • sam

yeah..she totally hogs the spotlight.NOT!! she is the lead of the show, what do you expect?? it’s not like she is out there all the time asking for it, it’s just part of what being the lead is. get over yourself.

      • Dave

Honestly without Lea Michele or Jane Lynch i would not be watching Glee. Not to say i don;t appreciate the other characters/actors, but, Lea and Jane simply make that show. I’m tired of people getting upset with her for receiving attention that rightfully belongs to her. She is the lead actress on the show…and also the strongest!

  • Megan

    Woot.

Not much on Oprah, but I’ll be tuning in.

  • Bea

This needs to be the WHOLE cast. Cause I’m kinda getting mad that for certain things only a certain few get to go.

  • BlatantURLPimpingMustDie

The overkill is official. RIP “Glee” :-(

    • Chelsea

Don’t know what you’re talking about. What overkill? Anyways, I’m excited for the cast!

    • chris

I agree. They are all over the place and people are going to get tired of seeing them. They are about even with the cast of Jersey Shore when it comes to random appearances.

    • Sam

I dont think its over kill. As a cast they don’t do that much. Everything they have done is because they were invited. It was only a matter of time that oprah would want them on. But honestly they havent even done that many talk shows.

      • Leslie

Agreed, definitely starting to look like overkill. I love glee, but this is getting to be a little much. They should start watching out for backlash

    • Amy

Of course they are going to promote the back 9. What are they suppose to do say no thanks Oprah.

    • Sally

I disagree actually. There are still a lot of people who haven’t watched Glee. The more promotion, the more interest for people to tune in.

This won’t really affect the people who have no interest in watching in the first place, and will only make people who ARE watching happy.

      • Marianne

I half agree. I realize that the media puts them out there a lot, including EW, who seems to have Glee spoilers everyday, or whatever, but thats out of the casts hand. They haven’t done a lot of talk shows. And since the new season is premiering, they are going to be doing more publicity, because they want you to watch. That’s how it works. Movie actors are the same way.

    • jenn

Agreed. Oprah has a way of ruining everything. When shows/books/movies have less promotion they are more special to me–it’s like they’re my secret, or something. When everybody starts liking the same thing, there are some people who only like it because Oprah said it was good or because it was popular so that must mean it’s good. When the craze gets bigger in relation to how good the show actually is, that’s when I bail. Good shows burn-out quicker that way, and then there are the superior shows that could soar with 1/10 of the attention Glee gets, but don’t, because it doesn’t have a dreamy cast that sings.

  • Maria

I don’t like Oprah but for Glee I’ll put my feelings aside and watch the show

  • UGH

    Oprah: Queen of America.
    Puh-lease.

    • HA!

Sounds like a lil’ jealousy to me…and what, exactly, does THAT have to do with Glee?

      • jenn

Of course he’s jealous, because it’s impossible to not like someone for any other reason than jealousy, unless it’s you doing the disliking, right?

  • Jenna

I think it’s great. I just hope EVERYONE will be there. Dijon, Heather, Naya and Harry deserve to be there too!!!

Yay for Glee.. I can’t wait until it is on my screen again!

    • Danielle

they are all going to be there because Harry and Dijon have already talked about it on their twitter pages

  • Molly

I’m pumped!! I only care about Jane, Lea, Cory and Matt haha but I hope they’re all there! I can’t wait to hear the show stopping performance!

  • Jenny

When you have abig cast no everyone is going to get the same amount of attention. I do hope the whole cast is there but don’t be surprise if the leads get more air time. Also if they sing I hope it is agroup number but don’t get pissed it Lea and/or Cory are the leads to that group number.

  • vmg

How exciting!!! I will absolutely be tuning in.

  • Joe

Wow, they’ll be on Oprah. Who cares…

  • Sue

Don’t like glee or some of the cast don’t watch and just go away, why spend you time on something you don’t like. Why even comment, sick of this stuff.

    • Tom

Totally agree! Oh, wait, I’m commenting on not commenting on stuff I’m sick of…how stupid is that? :S

  • Marianne

    Awesome!!
