'FlashForward' returns to ABC, but attracts small audience

Though sci-fi geeks were treated to a new two-hour episode of FlashForward last night, not many chose to watch: The freshman drama on ABC only Read the full post.

I’m surprised to read some of the comments here about bad writing and acting. My opinion is just the opposite. This series has been a class act. First TV series I’ve actually made a point of watching in many years. The entire family feels the same–including my wife, who is about as far from a sci-fi geek as you can get.

there’s also the distinct possibility that people just noticed it kind of sucks! if a show is awesome, I”LL FIND IT. I had high hopes for this, hoping it would fill the “LOST VOID” that’s coming soon :( But this sure is no Lost, that’s for sure.

The only show that has been able to survive a long (and I mean long) hiatus is Lost, and that’s because the show is very addictive. By the way, I can’t believe how good this final season of Lost is–it’s awesome! I watched the first episode of Flash Forward and while it showed promise, I just didn’t have enough time to devote to the show, especially with Lost in its final season. That’s the biggest mistake ABC made. They should have waited til Lost was over and then premiered Flash Forward. All of us are pressed for time and to devote time each week to a show is a lot to ask for, especially in today’s age.

Bad move on ABC’s part! Didn’t they know that CBS has their hours of NCAA basketball tournament coverage on the same time slot? They should have put it on Wednesday night AWAY from a heavily watched night as CBS’ and Flashforward would have gotten those much needed numbers and ratings.

I was just discussing this issue of the long breaks earlier. When will the network honchos learn that taking off a series for such a long break mostly ruins the show. As for FF specifically, I gave up on the show about a month after it premiered–just didn’t keep my interest at all and the characters were not at all worthy of time-investment on my part.

Dumb question, since the last time I did the Nielsens, it was a little booklet you filled out. Do Nielsens take into consideration both shows that are watched, and the ones that are recorded/DVR’d?

I try very hard to find good sci fi to watch, but FF reminds me very much of Twin Peaks, which I still think was a total put-on, with it’s absolutely impossible-to-follow story line. It’s no fun to watch a show when you’re only getting angry at the convoluted writing.

i think that people arent liking it and because of the hiatus. everyone has been saying that its the next LOST, and you can NEVER compare a show like flashforward to LOST. ever. its just not as good. as for V, i stopped watching that show before the third episode! i gave flashforward another try though, and it was pretty good, i guess. just not as good as LOST. :D

Maybe they should go back to a regular 8 or 9 month season without huge breaks and viewers might stay interested. I did like Flashforward but decided it was too complicated to follow after a 4 month break!!!

Keep Flashforward. I want to see whats next!

Sorry but this show is just awful. They missed the opportunity to make this into something with a grand, epic feel to it. I finally deleted it the episodes I had. The real name of the show should be call “fast forward” – because that is what I am forced to do most of the time.

Also it is way too politically correct for my tastes. The PC moralizing is very tiring – I want to be entertained, not preached to. It feels like the whole show is some sort of “social justice” after school special. Snore!

Wow!! I could not believe that the show Flash Foward is gettin canceled , As a english major i grew to appreciate the dialog and the plot line i believe if this show was allowed to progress we could get some great stuff. I just wish it was given a chance because it is quite amazing and artisticly beautiful.
