Sources confirm to me exclusively that Alan Cumming — who joined the hit CBS drama last month as Eli Gold, a sharp-tongued reputation rehabilitator working with Chris Noth’s disgraced politician — will return in season 2 as a full-fledged series regular.
I may be a mistaken, but I think this marks Cumming’s first full-time TV gig. If I’m wrong I’m sure I’ll hear about it in the comments section. Speaking of which, head there now to weigh in on whether keeping Eli around is a Good thing (see what I did there?).

well he was full time on british series The High Life.
I love him!!!
I was just going to comment that he was full time on the high life…beat me too it. I LOVED that show.
He was the Devil on God the Devil and Bob but I think no one but me remembers that show. It was kinda awesome.
I remember that show Katie I loved it!!!

YES! Loved that show; I actually own the DVD.
I really enjoy the character and like the idea of seeing more of him (and Alan). I just worry that having him around in every episode may be too much of a good thing, and eventually wear thin.
Does that mean Noth will actually be full time as well?
I love Alan Cumming! I am glad I get to see more of him, but I hope his character gets more to do. Maybe he is part of the scandal? That would be GREAT!
That is the best news!! I LOVE him on The Good Wife, and was hoping he’d stick around for awhile!
But what about the Spiderman musical?!?!?!
I believe that show is DOA. They keep canceling performances & offering refunds. I still don’t have my ordered tickets for 7-3 performance & you can’t buy them on line any longer.
A great addition to an already great show!
And bring on Martha Plimpton full time while you’re at it!
Amen, J.G.!
Yes! Yes! Yes!
Absolutely!
Am I the only one that finds her grating? If everyone is positive, I’ll keep an open mind!
She’s a bit grating but remember what a smarmy little jerk Matt Czuchry was on Gimore Girls? And here he seems to be growing on me. I too will keep an open mind.
I can’t stand this character..don’t mess up a wonderful show with too many additional characters.
She is annoying but that’s the character. I would like her being a series regular. It would be like on the Law & Order shows when there are recognizable defense attorneys. It helps b/c you don’t have to introduce new people and you kind of understand their style.
Oooh, wouldn’t it be fun if she was the third partner?
Although, I don’t know. She’s so deliciously nasty and over the top. Maybe she’s better in concentrated doses.
Love her on the show! She’s over the top, but in a good way. And I’m happy for Alan Cumming.
Awesome! The Good Wife is a really good show, and Alan Cumming is an extraordinary actor. Can’t wait to see what happens next on this show!
Hell yeah! Keep ‘em Cumming
He’s great as Eli and his Rahm Emanuel-esque lines are hilarious. Very good decision; now when will Alicia and Will finally go to dinner?? They’ve brought it up like 3 times already!
Just as long as they don’t reduce Kalinda’s role. Next to Alicia, she is the most interesting character in
this fine show.
Agreed. I need more Kalinda. I love her and her interactions with the whole cast.
Kalinda is THE best thing about the show. She adds a bit of humor. (gotta love Diane Lockheart’s laugh tho)
i agree with you. i love kalinda, she’s great.
Love him on the show. I 2nd the addition of Martha Plimpton to the show as the new partner with Will and Diane…
Ohhh. I hadn’t thought of her but she would be the perfect foil in the new partner! Good idea…
I hope I see more Will and Alica action. For some reason that kiss last week was hot and very sexy!
agreed! i just hope they dont do too much too soon
Yay! He’s been an absolutely fantastic addition to the show so far, so I’m excited that he’s sticking around!
I totally agree that Martha Plimpton should be around more– I love her and also love her character on this great show. This show keeps getting better!
