'Glee' spoiler alert: Major scoop on this season's final episodes

Categories: Glee, Scoop

Entertainment Weekly intern Vlada Gelman is covering PaleyFest ’10 for The Ausiello Files. Here’s her report from last night’s Glee panel.

You Say “Hello”: The audience was treated to a screening of the April 13 episode, “Hello,” which finds Sue back at work and back to terrorizing Will. She charges Brittany and Santana with seducing Finn, who’s now sort of dating Rachel even though he isn’t quite over Quinn. Meanwhile, Rachel catches the eye of Vocal Adrenaline’s lead singer Jesse St. James, played by Lea Michele’s former Spring Awakening costar Jonathan Groff. Will and Emma continue to be adorable as they try to start dating, but a couple of things stand in their way, including Vocal Adrenaline’s coach (Idina Menzel) and an admission from Emma. Sources confirm to me exclusively that series creator Shonda Rhimes has agreed to release the fast-rising movie star from her contract. It’s now up to ABC Studios and Heigl’s reps to hash out a final exit agreement. (A rep for ABC Studios declined to comment. Coincidentally, as of today Heigl is without a publicist.) Why is this all coming down now? That’s where things get interesting… READ FULL STORY »

'House' video: Robert Sean Leonard unplugged!

Categories: Ausiello TV, House, Scoop

Did you hear? Those tricksters at Fox are trying to bait us into watching House reruns on Friday night by incorporating exclusive new content into the episodes. Sneaky bastards. To their credit, the bonus material doesn’t suck. In fact, the inaugural segment — which debuted last Friday and featured the always-entertaining Robert Sean Leonard — is actually a lot of fun. Unfortunately, due to a technical glitch the piece only ran on the West Coast. Fortunately, I convinced Fox to let me embed the clip after the jump so the rest of the country could see what they missed. Yes, I am awesome. READ FULL STORY »

Jay Leno returns 'The Tonight Show' to No. 1

It was a good first week back for Jay Leno. For the week ending March 5, The Tonight Show dominated in adults 18-49 and total viewers, outranking Late Show with David Letterman and ABC’s combination of Nightline and Jimmy Kimmel Live, according to final ratings released by NBC. For the week, Leno averaged 1.94 million adults in the 18-49 demo and 5.58 million total viewers; Letterman, in comparison, averaged 1.30 million adults and 3.66 million total viewers. Leno also outranked Letterman among adults 18-34.

Leno also gave a big boost to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, which also out-delivered CBS’ Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Fallon attracted 916,000 adults in the 18-49 demo versus for 754,000 for Ferguson. He also beat his CBS rival in total viewers (1.949 million versus 1.802 million).

Before Leno’s return, Letterman was consistently dominating the 11:30 p.m. timeslot in viewers and occasionally among adults 18-49. Leno is already well ahead of what he was doing last season on The Tonight Show; he was averaging 5.1 million viewers before he left the franchise. Once Conan O’Brien took over in the fourth quarter, the show averaged 2.5 million.

Ask Ausiello: Spoilers on 'Smallville,' 'Good Wife,' 'Glee,' 'Grey's,' Fringe,' and more!

ausiello-greys-ncisGot a scoop request? An anonymous tip you’re dying to share? Just want to say hi? You can send any/all of the above to ausielloscoop@ew.com

Question: Will anything ever happen between Will and Alicia on The Good Wife? —Stef
Ausiello:
Maybe. Eventually. Perhaps. Exec producer Robert King explains: “[They have] one of the most complicated relationships… because it really is a friendship that doesn’t want to lose its friendship by going to the next step. There’s an episode [coming up in April] that’s all about not knowing what a jury is thinking and it’s a metaphor for how Alicia and Will can’t get into each other’s heads. During this trial, they have to make moves, guessing where the jury is headed. Sometimes we see that they’re just completely wrong.”

Question: I could probably be persuaded to send you a case of your favorite flavor of Snapple if you’ll give me some Good Wife scoop. —Brooke
Ausiello:
I could probably be persuaded to accept those terms. The rivalry between Alicia and Cary will come to a head in May. According to exec producer Robert King, the season will feature two big climaxes — one of which we’ve already witnessed. “The first was ‘Hi,’ the episode where Peter gets out,” he explains. “[The second] will play into [the rivalry].” READ FULL STORY »
