    Damages must go on…

    Mind you, I want to point out that The Wire was only SUPPOSED to be five seasons long, and after fulfilling that it wasn’t renewed because that’s just the way the writers wanted it.

    It is a sad comment on the average IQ of tv-watching Americans that this elegant series appeals to such a relatively small segment of viewers. I am reminded of that dark day when HBO pulled the plug on the planned fourth season of “Deadwood” to air one sad thrown-together season of “John from Cincinnati”. Thank God for 20 more episodes to come of a truly intelligent and thrilling series. I have hopes for American TV. Thank you DirecTV!
