“At the Founder’s Day Gala, Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Caroline (Candice Accola) compete for the title of “Miss Mystic Falls” against other girls from town, including Tina Fell (guest star Autumn Dial) and Amber Bradley (guest star Spencer Locke). Elena is happy to have Bonnie (Katerina Graham) back in town, but Bonnie still has issues to work through. John Gilbert (guest star David Anders) attempts to intimidate Damon, but his plan doesn’t have the desired effect. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) discovers that Stefan (Paul Wesley) is hiding a dangerous secret that could impact everyone in town.”

Um, how is Stefan anything like Edward? I mean Edward is a 2-dimensional, card board cut out, who is a controling jerk. Stefan dances and jokes around with Elena, he goes on double dates for fun, he calls himself a dick, he allows Elena to actually be by herself and knows she’s not just a damsel in distress, and he has an extremely dark side to him based on how easily he tortures and kills other vampires. I mean he lets lose and has fun a lot of the time, like with Lexi. He smiles multiple times. And I’d be pretty serious too if my brother was out to ruin my life. He’s actually turning out to be a lot more 3-dimensional than Damon, who is repetative at best. Like loving katherine is any excuse for the things he did….especially considering how horrible Katherine was. Plus, Elena/Damon makes Elena look like a heartless idiot. Damon tortured Stefan, killed Zack and Lexi, tried to rip out Bonnie’s throat, turned Isobel, and watched heartlessly as Alaric bled to death on the floor. He also mind raped Caroline, and turned Vicki after killing her friends. He blames Stefan for something silly, and was willing to watch Katherine kill innocent people even when he was a human. A relationship with Elena may humanize Damon, but it’s character assassination for Elena.
I love Damon and Elena and they have a great chemistry
really??! some of u ppl are really short sighted and i’m guessing very young. it’s like if something isnt blatant then u cant appreciate it. stefan is a complex character he hates being a vampire but at the same time doesnt want to die so he has this internal struggle w/ his dark nature. that is why he is always so serious b/c under it all he is unhappy. u guys cant read b/w the lines. UNDERCURRENT. look it up. secondly, damon is hot but he is evil and narcissistic. ne one who pursues a rel w/ him deserves wat they get. i find stefan to be compelling and he really touches me. few ppl take damon’s route of destruction most of us have the internal struggles that we deal w/ we just have someone to help us out. who does stefan have? no one so he has to work it out himself. try living a century alone and in misery and then tell me about always being serious.

haha! i completely agree!! we barely see stefan do anything but try to keep Elena from harms way when Damon is usually the harm that is in teh way. I’m super excited about this wks ep,though, because we see like a Damon-Stefan relationship that we normally wouldn’t see.
Lara & lex totally nailed it! Stefan is complex and has multiple of emotions unlike Damon’s one shade of evil. I love Damon’s character and what he brings to the show but Im totally on team Stefan all the way!
Also, cant wait to see Stefan struggle even more when his darkest side begins to come out.

stefan does “Possess” a personality and he has something called a heart that we haven’t seen from damon in a while(1864). Plus Stefan protects elena cause he loves her, when did that become a crime. Unlike Damon who freaking kills everybody.Thats why Stefan protects Elena. DUH!!!
Stefan is trying to be a good Vamp people… The only reson you like Damon is because he walks as a vampire… but his changing he hasn’t killed anyone for blood latley lol… he might turn in Stefan

I agree with Angie. Damon is a murderer. He turned Elena’s mother into a vampire. Gross. I just don’t understand why people want to see this nice girl w/ a guy who doesn’t think twice about killing someone, when she already has a hot bf who is smart and kind.
I agree with Kalie. I like Damon dont get wrong. Damon is cool but I just dont like him with Elena cuz I still dont see the chemistry. just like how some of you dont like Stefan and Elena together.
Kalie, we do not know all of the circumstances regarding the death of Elena’s mother yet, and Damon most likely didn’t have any idea it was her mother (though I know that doesn’t make up for him killing people). But Damon is damaged. He’s impulsive and vicious, yes – he’s a vampire. But did he kill Elena? No. There’s been some subtle, but nice character development there. Underneath, there is still humanity and heart. Elena being the only person he’s slowly befriending out of care, she may be the only person capable of bringing out that humanity and healing his heart. And that is why I would like to see more interaction between the two of them. Kind of like Beauty and the Beast, I guess. BTW, it’s only a matter of time before we start to see Stefan’s dark side.

Damon is very enjoyable to watch but should not be romantically linked to ANYBODY, especially not Elena. That would be really sick of her considering her mother (though she MIGHT have asked for it), Lexi, Vicki, he tried to kill Bonnie and Caroline, tortured the latter frequentley. I hope they don’t write the character of Elena stupid and self-destructive enough to let her seriousley go for Damon.

I agree with you, but Stefan right now is having a relapse and Damon is taking that to his full advantage. His not stupid he is seeing an opportunity open and he is going for it. Guys in general will go for a girl when they are heart broken and can depend on their guy. Hence Elena is thinking twice about Stefan she may love him, but as his behavior escalates he might push her away and into Damons arm. Guess what Damon will be waiting
Great first comment. I definitely agree. Damon might have a bit more personality than they’ve showed for Stefan so far but, dude, Damon is a cold blooded murderer. I wouldn’t want the main character with a psychotic killer. Even if he is clever and funny and attractive. He’s also a huge dick while her boyfriend is nice and sweet and considerate. He abused one of her best friends, killed Stefan’s, and turned her mother into a vampire. Even the idea of a relationship between them is ridiculous. No thanks.
If you read the booksDamon is not as bad as he is in the show. In the book he axcually cares about elena and tells her his feeling (unlike in the show) but still has his “bad guy” act down. He’s waaaay beter in the book but of course way sexier in the show =D
anyone who has any familiarity with the books knows that the Damen/Elena storyline is too huge not address in the TV series.

Well, I haven’t read the books but, if Damon turned Elena’s mother in the original story too, then their relationship is truly sick. I would lose all respect for Elena. What kind of a girl falls for her mother’s killer? Yes, he’s smoldering hot, but really, that is just wrong!
Well, i think Damon/Elena would fit but Stefan/Elena fit too. I would like to see Damon/Elena, because i love Damon and he’s so sexy because he’s soo bad, but it could be that the story is better with Stefan/Elena.
The connection she has with both brothers is different and just as special as the other. With Stephan she is the pure, good girl that can do no wrong. With Damon I think she is more true to herself. She has faults, she is not miss perfect. She is more Human. There is a fire between her and Damon. What the funny thing is; is that Stephan knows they have a connection and hopes she can pull the humanity out of HIM! They clearly complement each other.I read the book that just came out. Any one who wants to know what kind of relationship they really have should READ them!!!!

I agreed with most of what Astrid said. Damon is fun and enjoyable to watch, but I don’t see how the writers can make her character that stupid after everything he’s done either. I’m not the biggest fan of the actress who plays Elena. I watch the show for everyone else because of everyone else on there. I wanted Elena and Stephan together because that’s how it was written in the books, but if they are trying to put her with Damon on this show I say get Stephan with someone else who is worthy of being with him since they’re already ruining Elena’s character anyway. I liked having Damon and Bonnie in the books together too. He wasn’t quite as evil as his on the show.
Oh I forgot to mention Damon’s 3 other transgressions . Killing Zach and Bree and threatening to kill Elena himself when she and Stephan had the journal. Oh yeah, there’s so many redeeming qualities about him.

I’m actually really starting to like them. They do have amazing chemistry. But Elena/Stefan are good, too.
However, Jeremy & Anna are steadily becoming my favorite pairing on that show.

This series is based on books written long before twilight, where the “good boy” vampire brother vs “bad boy” vampire brother romance was at the core of the story.
Plus in Twilight, it’s not really a question of good boy versus bad boy.
I have to disagree Stefan/Elena is way way way worst that Damon/Elena BTW No one messes with Edward Cullen he is HOT and so is Damon

I loooove Damon. He is the show. I would be thrilled to see Damon and Elena get together. Stefan is a total snooze. I nearly fall asleep whenever he’s on screen.
The S/E lovemaking scene was a big yawn for me but the D/E dance scene just drove me nuts. D/E have such chemistry as I never seen before, they are amazing together. Team Damon FTW.

Yeah Elena and Damon would be just so wrong. Which is just why I can’t wait for it to happen. Stefan is just so blaah….He has this need of protecting that Elena doesn’t need because she’s a strong person. Sure she doesn’t have super powers but she is a strong woman and that doesn’t always come up to the surfice when she’s around Stefan. He kinda kills that quality and buries it deep deep down where noone can find it. Damon on the other hand might have his problem but at least he treats her more like his equal than a toy he is afraigh to break
