Johnson/HBO“There is definitely some [sexual] energy between the two of them,” says executive producer Alan Ball of the dynamic between his newest mane attraction, werewolf Alcide (One Tree Hill‘s Joe Manganiello), and Sookie (Anna Paquin), who team up in season 3 (debuting June 12) to track down her kidnapped beau, Bill. “It’s not like either one of them is looking for romance, but they’re thrown into several intense situations [and] it’s hard not to bond on a deeper level.”
It probably isn’t too tough for Sookie to bond with her animal sidekick on a superficial level, too. “The first shirtless scene [Joe] had I was like, “Who has those abs?” Ball recalls. “He’s in crazy peak physical condition. He’s eating nothing but pure protein. And of course, this being True Blood, he’s already shot his first naked scene. Hello, werewolves when they shift — no clothes!”

I’m excited about Alcide and Sookie’s romance, but I still don’t like who they cast for the Alcide role. He’s not cute enough. I pictured someone like Tom Welling.
Book #9 (which came out last May) comes out tomorrow in paperback. Book #10 comes out in May…hope that clears things up

Alex(Eric) naked is the best thing every. This new guy playing Alcide is not that bad looking but lets face it he is just another clone of the many many actors out there today. Dark and dirty looking like he needs a good shower. Alex(Eric) is so exceptionally different than the others and soooo clean looking that he is the ultimate.

True Blood is right up there along with Mad Men in being one of the best shows on tv today. Heck, it’s been nominated for Best Drama at the Golden Globes and Anna Paquin won her 1st year.
True Blood is so not even in the same league as Mad Men. It’s a fun show, but it is a bit overrated. As for the Golden Globe nom, that’s more a combination of the show’s popularity- not quality, and the fact that the Globes aren’t crap anyway

Different strokes for different folks, I found Mad Men to be really boring but if you like it, by all means.
