Sources confirm to me exclusively that the ex-Charmed one is joining ABC Family’s upcoming drama, Pretty Little Liars, as the mother of Lucy Hale’s Aria.
Liars, based on the popular series of young adult novels from Alloy (which is producing the series), follows four teen girls — Aria (Hale), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Hanna (Ashley Benson), and Spencer (Troian Bellisario) — who have been hiding a deep, dark secret since the sixth grade.
Chad Lowe was recently tapped to play Aria’s father (and Combs’ TV hubby). The cast also includes Laura Leighton and Bianca Lawson.
Liars is set to debut on June 8 at 8 pm/ET.

Agreed. ABC Family’s shows aren’t always the best because they seem to be on a serious tight budget (i suppose by the look of the shows) which sometimes seem to affect the quality of the shows… but I too will watch the first episode.

Awww – Greek is a hilarious show. If anything, ABC Family shows demonstrate that you don’t always need a huge budget or “stars” to provide entertaining options. Plus they seem to walk the fine line between risque and family comedy, which is a nice niche to fill
I’ve never seen Greek. But I’m still bitter about Kyle XY cancelled. I wouldn’t still be bitter if Secret Life of an American Teenager wasn’t still on. Ugh. I tried to watch the first episode for Molly Ringwald, but I couldn’t do it. But yeah, Greek seems like one of those shows that I’ve never given a chance, but if I did watch it, I’d probably be very impressed with it.
yeah, Greek is their only well written show. All the other ones are terribly written and terribly acted.

Tara was played by Amber Benson, Holly was on Charmed, she played Piper Halliwell.

HMC was brilliant on Charmed, towards the end of that shows run she was the sole reason to tune in. She was always great.
I’m not too optimistic about this, though. Is she just a guest star/heavily in the back like parents on other teen shows?
I wish she would an established show I already love, to be honest. The next bad guy on Damages? Something on Glee? (Yeah, the most random choices ever – but I already know that those shows are entertaining, and just wanna see her on something good).
