Image Credit: Haidee Malkin/WireImage.comEx-Smallville shutterbug Aaron Ashmore has landed a recurring role on USA Network’s In Plain Sight, sources confirm to me exclusively.
The erstwhile Jimmy Olsen will play the smart yet rough-around-the-edges long-lost half brother to Mary (Mary McCormack) and Brandi (Nichole Hiltz). He attempts to reconnect with his sibs and discuss their shared father.
Ashmore will debut during the latter half of Sight‘s current third season.

“Ex-Smallville shutterbug” made me sad. I miss our Daily Planet photographer.
I’m so happy that Aaron is finding work, though!
Aaron deserves! I loved his “Jimmy”. I cannot believe that he isn´t in the show anymore! I miss so much the Team Lane-Olsen-Kent! *sigh*
love him on the show
Man, it still hurts seeing a picture of Aaron Ashmore. He was such a good Jimmy Olsen and will always be Jimmy Olsen in my heart. I loved when he was working with Clark and Lois last year in “Stilletto.” It was heart warming to see the 3 of them together finally working together. Made me sad it was so short lived. Best of luck to Aaron Ashmore! I wish him the absolute best in his career. He is still missed on Smallville.
Awww I miss him on Smallville, he was a great Jimmy (even though he turned out ti be a faux Jimmy). Glad Aaron’s finding gigs elsewhere though.
Alright, Aaron! That’s great news.
YAY! I love Aaron Ashmore (aka Troy Vandegraff) and I love In Plain Sight!
I sure hope he is integrated better than Brandi and Jinx were in the first season.
AGREED. I love Mary and Marshall and the whole marshal aspect of the show, but I had to quit because I couldn’t stand Brandi and Jinx.
How many kids did this guy have? Didn’t they introduce an unknown half-sister last season?
2 kids isn’t that many. I hope we get to see the sister again
I miss Jimmy so much!!
So that’s what Brandi’s big secret is.
Too bad Chloe Sullivan got Jimmy killed. I seriously doubt that Chloe will ever have to pay a price for anything that she’s ever done. It’s good to know that Aaron has moved onto other things.
She didn’t get Jimmy killed genius, that was Clark, who refused to believe that Davis’ dark side was Doomsday, and not Davis himself. Because of his poor judgement, Jimmy got killed.
You clearly didn’t understand a single thing about last season. Until you get a grasp on what’s actually happening on this show, you might better refrain from public comments. You embarass yourself. Compared to you? Absolutely, I’m a genius. It was CHLOE SULLIVAN whose choices resulted in Jimmy being murdered. Go back and rewatch season 8, ya genius. Chloe has blood on her hands. If you had been watching the current season to connect the logic, you would’ve gotten it by now.
VERONICA MARS
Aaron’s been pretty busy. He’s doing a movie too. I’m glad his talent is being put to good use elsewhere. Because he was just wasting his time on Smallville. And so is Allison Mack. I cant wait until she starts branching out.
your every word, frank, AA has talent unlike some cast on SV, who will rot in Suckville coz they just dont have the talent & the drive to do anything else. AA has been doing movies & branching out in primetime and films, i not sorry anymore that they killed jimmy, i can see aaron is in a better place since leaving the show. As for Allison, i just hope those SV boss losers wont con and trick her again into staying in their loser of a show…..
I am really glad that Aaron found something new. Even though he wasnt the real Jimmy Olsen (just his older brother) he brought the “Jimmy”-element into the show that I am missing today. As great as Lois and Clark are it just aint the same without a Jimmy in the mix. Maybe they bring the real Jimmy onboard in Season 10 (and hopefully more of Perry White as well). And well honestly Aaron wasnt exactly a very good Jimmy. Dont get me wrong, he was a really GREAT and wonderful character he just wasnt a good Jimmy. Jimmy is supposed to be much younger than Lois and Clark, wear a bow-tie, adress Clark and Lois as Mr.Kent and Ms.Lane and be a character that is not angry and not moody. Who is just the goodhearted, cheerful best pal of Superman. Thats what the real Jimmy Olsen is supposed to be and quite frankly Aarons Jimmy just wasnt. So I was actually really glad when they revealed he wasnt the real Jimmy Olsen and was never supposed to be from day one. It makes a lot more sense to a superman-fan like me this way. That said I can say that Aaron Ashmore was a wonderful and amazing Henry-James Olsen who was a joy to watch and whom I do really miss on the show (His departure has especially been very bad for Chloes character developement). But I am surprised at the hypocrisy here. When he was on the show so MANY people bashed Aaron for being whiny and annoying. Now where he is gone suddenly you all loved him and miss him? At least I know I always loved his character. Even more so because he wasnt the real Jimmy Olsen.
@Domenique: look at your comment. you mixed it up. You wrote that Clark refused to believe that Doomsday was Davis´s dark side but thats exactly what Clark believed, love.
That said I strongly believe that Davis wasnt a person on his own. Its not like he and Doomsday were two characters sharing the same body. Davis wasnt even a person. He was nothing but Doomsdays shell made of flesh. A mere hull. All the emotions he expressed werent real. They were just a genetic programming in his DNA so Doomsday could hide better among humans while he wasnt ready to break out of his shell permanently yet. Brainiac himself also said in “Legion” that Davis has no real feelings. That it was all just a genetic program running inside Davis to adapt him to the human world. To make him blend in. And his feelings for Chloe were just to connect Brainiacs vessel to him. So after all the entire “character” of Davis Bloome never was a person or a character, just a shell of meat and bones, acting like he has a soul and human feelings (not even knowing himself they were just a genetic program running inside of him)to make him blend in, to make him survive. Causer thats all that Doomsday does. Every one of his actions is based on it: Survival.
Once Doomsday and Davis were split in two, the actual character was Doomsday and Davis himself was just an empty shell of flesh and bones, having the illusion of human emotions because the genetic program in his DNA was still running. But he was never a human, never a person and never a character of his own. Davis Bloome was just a flesh-shell with illusions of human emotions.
LOL yeah I just re-read it and you’re right. I meant to say that Clark always thought of Doomsday as Davis’ dark side, while really, it was Davis himself, – espcially split from Doomsday – who was really dangerous. Because of that, Jimmy died.
You’re ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. The reason JO died was because Chloe had fallen for Davis and spared him the Phantom Zone in the episode Beast. The Zone was Clark’s choice. Keeping Davis here was CHLOE’S choice, and she chose to spare him for her own reasons. Chloe’s fans aren’t real bright.
