Makes total sense on paper: They’re both pretty, they spend long hours together at work, they’re each coming off difficult breakups, and….did I mention they’re both really pretty?
“It’s so cool that people are saying that,” responds executive producer Katie Jacobs. “Chase and Thirteen have had an opportunity to do more scenes together alone than they have before, [but] if there’s something between them, [the fans] are out in front of it.”
That said, Jacobs acknowledges that a “certain chemistry” exists between Jesse Spencer and Olivia Wilde. “We like their work together,” she adds. “But we haven’t discussed whether that’s something we’re going to [do] next season.”
Should they decide to pull the trigger on a relationship, Jacobs & Co. already have a potential complication lined up: Jennifer Morrison may return as Chase’s ex Cameron for a handful of episodes. “The space that Cameron occupies in House‘s world is completely unique,” Jacobs says, “and it’s one that I hope to see more of.”

Not crazy about the potential matchup between Thirteen and Chase. I have always liked the Cameron character (unlike some commentators) but don’t necessarily see her back with Chase. However, TVland being what it is, the combo 13/Chase will likely happen. Too bad.

Totally agree with that! It seems that as soon as one of them gets single in the show, they automatically have to hook up with someone straight away. No amount of couple switch ups will make me like 13 any more. It wouldn’t make her any more exciting and it wouldn’t change her facial expressions either!
House has veered so far off its once great status as being a MEDICAL drama that it has turned into a cheap soap opera with absolutely terrible storylines. They are predictable, characters are written badly and the show has just become a shadow of what it used to be. Seasons 1-3 were the best hands down! There was hardly any hooking up and it was actually focused on medicine.
Now look at it! It’s laughable the amount of effort that went into the show to make it different and unique – ever since season 4 it’s just been the same dribble that’s been on TV before. Maybe the writers and producers should focus more on trying to make the show better rather than making another pairing because, look how well that worked out for Huddy? Ugh that’s all I have to say.

unless it’s Huddy stuff, the POTW are messing with us,trying to fool us. They kept saying all through season 4 and then season 5 that Cameron and Chase are going to get more screentime and good stuff but they were marginalized and turned into just the Chameron pair,pulled away from House (probably so nothing takes away from huddy) and now they can’t have Huddy cause someone thinks (maybe Fox execs.) that it would kill the show for good so they brought Lucas(who was a fun character until he just became Cuddy’s boy toy and all the life was sucked out of him).

There are no storylines about to lead characters with HIV in Grey’s or House. Disagree with the multiple pairings if you like (I certainly do!) but equating HIV with promiscuity isn’t funny.

I think one of the most soap-operaish episodes of House was the season finale of season ONE. The show has always been like this! I’d rather see Chase dealing with his issues post the Dibala arc. This season started off brilliantly with that plotline and they seem to have dropped the ball on it. So much build up to telling Cameron only for that storyline to go out like a squib. There was foreshadowing of a drink problem, of ‘only psychopaths can kill another human being without having a breakdown’and ‘help didn’t help’. I know it’s House’s show not Chase’s but as he’s a side character surely they could have had the stones to really deal with his problems in a serious and ongoing way.

Pairing 13 and Chase together is just another step for Shore to push his beloved 13/Olivia Wilde into our faces once again. What a whole season or 2 wasn’t enough for him?
Not only does it reflect badly on the writing of the show in general, but it creates such discontinuity with the characters. Chase supposedly loved Cameron for so long and they got married. But as soon as Cameron’s out of the picture, he’ll just jump into another woman’s bed without a second thought…all because “they’re both pretty”?! Please. That’s such a poor and lame excuse and shows that all the hell that Chase gave Cameron regarding the relationship shows how much of a hypocrite he is.

The conflict between House and Cuddy is central to what has always driven the show. I believe that conflict would exist more than ever if they hooked up. But I wouldn’t get rid of it.
Huddy is what drove me away from House for awhile. While I’m not opposed to romance on House entirely, it shouldn’t be the main focus.

I’m a regular, long time fan (I’ve watched every episode from day one and own all 5 seasons on DVD) and I’m ALSO a House/Cuddy fangirl. Please, I’m SO SICK of people lamenting how the “Huddy” focus has somehow destroyed the show. About 90% of the time that comment is followed by “Cameron was my favorite character on the show.” I’ve said it before and I will say it again; stop whining because what you wanted to happen DIDN’T happen. For crying out loud. And as far as people “hooking” up go – have none of you ever worked with the same group of people for over a year? There are always hook-ups and unrequited feelings/unresolved tension in said groups. It’s like being in a fish bowl. House M.D. isn’t that far off the mark on this point, although being a drama on TV it is somewhat exaggerated. At any rate, people, quit whining, quit watching the show and quit lamenting the loss of Cameron. I didn’t stop watching when she had more screen time that Cuddy, or when she was throwing herself at House, nor did I complain that the writers were ruining EVERYTHING (insert foot stomp here). Instead, I continued to watch the CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT and DYNAMIC between the central characters, whilst being entertained. If you don’t think it’s entertaining, go write your Hameron fanfiction. For crying out loud.
I’m a longtime fan, too, and honestly, I don’t think it’s just Huddy that’s ruining the show — it’s all of the pairing up going on. The TPTB are going to do whatever they want, obviously, but adding another freaking pairing — especially with both having just ended relationships — is ridiculous to me. However, stranger things have happened in real life, so who am I to complain?
That said, I’m a House fan above all else, and I wish he’d just remain single for the entirety of the show. That whole bit of him falling in love with what’s-her-ass during “Broken” and this Cuddy fascination are coming off as forced. I’m not saying that it’s impossible for him to ever love someone, but he still has mental issues that haven’t quite been resolved. While I don’t mind the flirting, having him in love with someone on a long-term basis (without realizing that he’s doing it for all the wrong reasons) is wrong.
I’ve been a longtime fan too, and I am also a Huddy/”silly FANGIRL” or whatever I’m being labeled. I don’t think they should be the focus of the show, but I like their chemistry, I think it’s entertaining, and I want to see the banter/relationship grow. I have enjoyed all of the characters on the show at one time or another, enjoyed the mysteries, and like the general tone of the show. Do I see faults in it? Well, yes, and no show is perfect, but if I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t still be watching it (and subsequently, talking about it.) Honestly, the most unrealistic plotline I have seen to date on the show was the dumb cop plotline in season three. Seriously, if anyone other than someone with the power of attorney over you EVER freezes your credit cards, contact the FBI and your bank immediately. You would think genius doctors would know that.
What I don’t agree with is the revisionist history that seems to be going on in these boards. Cameron, although a very sympathetic and well-rounded character, was NEVER the focus of the show. She was NEVER a House love interest beyond a crush and a forced date. To say that she belongs with House and only House completely ignores seasons 2-6 (you know, the majority of the series) where she was involved with Chase. And what’s LAUGHABLE is the whole “it’s turning into a soap opera” thing. Seriously?! If you watch more than two episodes in a row, in any season, you know how soapy it can get. Sela Ward’s Stacy was an extremely soapy character, and she was in seasons one and two.
Exactly. You may say that ‘you can’t blame the crappiness of House now because of Huddy’but you can’t really say that it made House any better! I’ve read many reviews from critics who were absolutely bored out of their minds because of the Huddy storyline. It was childish, juvenile and no woman like Cuddy would have made it to Dean of a hospital with the way she acts and dresses. They turned Cuddy into a desperate woman who constantly gets walked all over, all because she think she loves House.
In fact, apart from Amber, all the women in House are written disastrously! And not to mention, no matter how much TPTB try to push what they call romance, it always falls flat. It’s either forced, boring and just plain annoying. TPTB need to work on character development and better storylines. House is going downhill fast and if it doesn’t step up, it’s going to end soon.

I think the two of them make an interesting counter point to each other; they solicit unique things from the other. I can see each of them becoming involved in order to learn more about themselves and what they really want from life. In other words, become intimate to learn more about WHAT they really want, rather than because it IS what they really want.
The show has built some strong relationships over time that make sense. Cameron/Chase traces back to the first season. They should focus on that. Anything with Chase/13 would feel like a watered down imitation of the same.

That’s not to say it’s not nice to see some “romance” (in a Housian sense of course), but let’s not start pairing off characters just because they’re in the same room together.. In any case, I love the show and I will trust the writers… if they can make it interesting, then I’ll be on board.
