Image Credit: Virginia Sherwood/NBCSharon Stone joins Law & Order: SVU on April 28 as assistant district attorney Jo Marlowe, a former cop who shares a history with Stabler. “She trained him when he was a rookie,” explains executive producer Neal Baer. “He finds out she’s the new ADA and goes, ‘Oh, man.’” In addition to possessing a wry sense of humor, Stone’s prosecutor — who will stick around for four episodes — has a knack for saying “the right wrong things,” notes Baer. “She asks Benson if she’s ever slept with Stabler. Benson’s like, ‘What? He’s married.’ Her response is, ‘Yeah…so?’”

Can’t wait!!!! I hope this becomes a permanent gig for Stone!
Yeah…umm…it’s not…
LOL! A question I would have asked her myself! No, I get it. I wouldn’t want Benson and Stabler to get together while he was still married that would be wrong and not how it should be.
That means she likes him!!!
It is interesting that Benson’s answer is “What? He’s married.” and not “No, we are not like that.” or “He is just my partner.”
Completely disagree. I asked Matt Roush a while back about this and he agreed with me. I’ve felt like they’re close friends, maybe best friends, but never like they have romantic feelings for each other. And as cops, they shouldn’t. It’s pretty much a rule that cops can’t date their partners or have those kinds of feelings for them.
And of course, RULES stop feelings. Yeah, okay.
I’m not even gonna say I want them together, but saying they don’t have feelings for each other because of RULES is just silly.
Well, I personally want to screw all my male friends, particularly if they’re married. Riiight. Elliot and Olivia are grownups and probably feel more like brother and sister at this point. But the post is about Sharon Stone, and she’s definitely a step or two up from Christine Lahti, who I couldn’t bear to look at directly with all that crap injected into her face. But I wish they could get one ADA and stick with her. If Stephanie March wasn’t going to be permanent, I wish they had just kept Diane Neal. I hate the revolving door–which is what ruined Criminal Intent.
I agree too. I don’t deny that they have a great partnership and friendship. Even if Elliot was single, getting in a romantic relationship would ruin that friendship, especially if it doesn’t work out.
I like Sharon Stone and it sounds like a good, snarky role fit! Where’s the short hair though, she looks so hot in short hair, I’m sick of all the long-haired women on tv shows, like they have to pander to a certain male-fantasy look, bleeh. That is not an edgy look. Sharon in short hair rocks it!!
Ok. First off: Benson and Stabler are cops in a TV show. 2nd… We all see the sexual tension, and it is fun to play around in that. 3rd they are best friends, and many lovers are best friends. Oh and again. TV SHOW= Entertainment. If we wanted real life go watch the cops in the streets, ok?
Helena – perfect answer! I agree 100%.
For the first time I totally agree with someone. I love SVU — TV SHOW — If Olivia will sleep with Elliot, great! If they don´t that´s great too! We want those 40 minutes of entertainment, and that´s all!
The sexual tension is from Elliot trying to ignore Olivia’s infatuation with him. She’s interested in him but he’s not interested in her other than as his partner.
Olivia certainly thinks they are best friends. But Elliot never refers to her as his friend, only as his partner. He never go to her to talk about his personal life. She always has to drag it out of him. That’s not friendship.
i know this is a cop show and its against rules and all but we want entertainment. Beside’s its a TV show – why not throw the rule book out the window? – they’ve done it before with other things.
I’m sure this was mentioned somewhere, but why did Stephanie March leave again? I loved having her back as Alex Cabot.
In one of Ask Ausiello’s, it was stated she was done for the season, but not necessarily done with the show itself.
Yeah.. I WANT ALEX CABOT BACK…. PERIOD! UGH
When are they going to wise up and give Sharon the ‘Prime Suspect’ gig? She’d be a perfect fit.
This is gonna be so much fun! But i’m glad she’s not replacing Stephanie March <3
Sharon Stone is so perfect for the DA role. Christine Lahti, who I’ve liked in other stuff, was all wrong. Her face looks plastic-y and Botox-y now, and I just can’t take her seriously. She should stick to her Oil of Olay voiceovers until the effects of whatever she’s done to her face wears off. Viva la Sharon!
I gotta say, even though Sharon Stone is starting to show her age, she’s looks great. More realistic than I’ve see her in a long time. She was, once upon a time, a decent actress. Maybe SVU will give her the opportunity to show that again.
She’s perfect for this part. I’m surprised she hasn’t landed a starring role in her own show; maybe she likes the freedom of doing guest parts.
I hope they figure out a permanent ADA. I don’t like having a new person every episode or every few episodes.
I think Ms. Davis had it right. Buckle up your seatbelts. It*s going to be a bumby ride.
Not a Sharon Stone fan. I don’t know if Stephanie March didn’t want to do the whole season or if it was Neal Baer decision to only use March for 10 episodes, whichever, I hate it. I want Stephanie March back permanently. I hope she comes back next season.
I also hate the constant use of guest stars. The show doesn’t need them. I wish they would just get back to telling stories.
you’re right! all these guest stars are coming in and they’re not even that great. when i first saw SVU, it was all about the cases, the stories, and the characters. those are what made the show interesting.
Agreed! Word for word.
I’m curious to see if Stephanie will be back this season—I know the Ausiello article a while back said Stephanie was suppose to be on for 10, but I swear she only did 8 episodes this season.
She won’t. She is done for the season. Isn’t anyone reading what’s actually going on?
super excited ab this + love that she’ll get into Benson/Stabler dynamics
DDDD
