'Drop Dead' exclusive: 'Gilmore' guy guilty of big love

drop-dead-divaImage Credit: Bob Charlotte/PR Photos; Glenn Harris/Photorazzi/PR Photos; Tina Gill/PR PhotosHis name is David Sutcliffe and he’s a love triangle-aholic. The actor, who found himself immersed in major LT drama while on Gilmore Girls and Private Practice, is being sucked into another romantic kerfuffle on Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva.

In a season 2 episode of the Lifetime hit slated to air in June, Sutcliffe will play a man who’s married to two women (played by Vivica A. Fox and Bellamy Young). The twist? His wives have no clue their hubby is a real-life Bill Henrickson!

In other Drop Dead casting news, ER alum Kellie Martin will guest-star in episode 5 as a victim of a Ponzi scheme. The episode also features appearances by Rosie O’Donnell and Faith Prince, who reprise their season 1 roles as Judge Summers and Jane’s mom, Elaine, respectively.

DDD kicks off its second season on June 6.

Ugh! I was going to start watching this show, but if he’s on it as a series regular, I won’t. Me makes me sick to my stomach still to this day!! I can’t stand him!

    • Richard Cypher

Watch Legend of the Seeker instead good sir, rally against the keeper!

    • Tarc

He’s one case – so likely one episode. Mostly, I think you can’t stand *Christopher*, not David. She’s been charming on a great many other shows.

    • Angie

Don’t believe he is going to be a regular. But the show is DEFINITELY worth watching. I got my bf to watch with me & he is hooked! I think you’ll really like it if you give it a chance :)

    • MAS

Didn’t watch season 1 – premise sounded lame, but I caught a re-run and was hooked. It is worth checking out. Skip the episode he is in, if you don’t care for him.

    • leola

Absolutely worth watching. He’s only on for 1 ep. Clever writing and stellar cast.

    • Lorna

Really guys? I LOVE him. He was amazing on GG and PP.

    • renee

love him, love drop dead diva. can’t wait for june!!

  • Alex

Can’t stand him either! I don’t get his appeal at all. Charmless actor. Never fit in the Gilmore Girls cast.

    • KJ

I love David Sutcliffe! I wish he was in more!

      • Kay

Same here! I thought he was a perfect match for Lorelai, obviously Luke took the cake but in any other circumstance, Chris would have been great for Lorelai. Too bad the writers completely screwed over his character in the 7th season, as well as all other aspects of the show…sorry, still a little bitter.

  • Shannon

I miss Gilmore girls. As for David Sutcliffe, I don’t think he’s going to be a series regular on DDD. Probably more like the case of the week type of thing, imo.

  • bobbianne

    Absolutely love this show!

  • Ginger

LOVE DDD! Can’t wait for S2. I’m with the others that Sutcliffe will probably only be a one week guest star, so if you aren’t a fan, you might be able to just skip that epi. I’m not a big fan of his, but I’ll suck it up and watch it. I agree he didn’t fit the GG cast either. Never really seen him in something I liked him in. Anyway, also wanted to mention Kellie Martin is an alum from Life Goes On too… I’ve loved her acting since she played Becca Thatcher on there. Excited to see her back on the small screen!

  • Mia

LOVE Vivica. This should be good.

  • daveedt

David Sutcliffe is a good actor. He was just a victim of poor writing from GG. As for this show, Drop Dead Divas, LAME SHOW !!!

  • Stacey

Yuck on the Kellie Martin aspect… guess I can stomach her for one show.

  • Zo

Not tuning in for him, ever! Now if it was Scott Patterson on the other hand…

  • Emily

I’m just happy DDD is coming back! You can’t leave us hanging with, “I’m her husband!” :)

  • Brock Germain

It does say EPISODE. It’s a case situation. How anyone could think it means REGULAR is beyond me.

    He’s a top actor!

  • Scott

For anyone complaining about him, go rent and enjoy the movie ‘Happy Endings’; him and Steve Coogan make a wonderfully hilarious couple.

  • p

I was hoping it would be about the actor who played Luke- he was so good and definitely should be in more stuff!
Agree with every post that didn’t like Christopher. With Rory/Logan and Lorelai/ Christopher the last season of Gilmore Girls had some of the worst TV couples ever.

    • Lorna

I hated Rory/Logan too. She should have taken Jess back when they kissed the last time he was on the show. Dumb girl. I liked Christopher, but Luke and Lorelai were meant to be.

      • Bridget

Totally agree! I thought Rory/Logan were awful…worst TV couple ever. Same with Lorelai and Christopher. With the different writer for the last season of GG the show felt completely off from the six wonderful previous seasons! Rory/Jess & Luke/Lorelai forever!!!

  • Claire

ugh. i love drop dead diva, why is HE on it!
