Exclusive First Look: 'Chuck' suffers a 'Hart' attack

Yet another reason I hart (not a typo!) Chuck with a fiery passion: When the show’s co-creators Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak decide to pay homage to something, they really pay homage to it. As I previously reported, the May 3 episode introduces Fred Willard and Swoosie Kurtz as a married CIA couple assigned to train Chuck and Sarah. Judging by this exclusive clip, the mentorship ends up giving Chuck some major Hart (making sense yet?) palpitations…

Awesome, right? Now compare it to the original below...

Reminder: Chuck returns with the first of six new episodes this Monday!

    • Hope

Pretty cool, but the only thing I’m not digging is that Morgan failed to mention Casey. Not cool dude. I can’t wait for monday night please hurry up and get here before I go into cartiac (sp?) arrest.

“Cardiac” hope. and I agree!! Love chuck.

It would have been nice to Casey in there, but it would have been hard to make him fit. He couldn’t have been the one who’s job it is to keep an eye on them because, well, that just wouldn’t be Casey, and there isn’t a fourth role. The best way to have worked him in would have maybe been to have a brief scene among the cuts of Chuck or Sarah drive by and wave at Casey who’s in a a parking lot or something washing his new Crown Victoria (in that near-seductive way he has…) LOL

      • Christopher Robin

I sure hope that does not mean that Casey will be the big death at the end of the season. The show just would not be the same without Adam Baldwin’s brilliant character, Casey.

It’s going to take surgery to wipe the grin off my face :D

  • winston

I think you mean 6 episodes.

  • Gambs

    That Chucking rocks.

Chuck is incredible at the way they pay homage to the 80s.

  • Ben

Excellent clip, you know until the Morgan part. At least it didn’t include Jeffster.

    • GimplyGump ☺

I loved the Morgan part. It lead right up to the Chucked Chuck-eye opener.

  • Shadow Step

    That is bloody brilliant!

Is that for real (cause the quality is rather crap) ?

But then I’ve always said that “Hart to Hart” was proof that you can easily have a leading characters who love each other and are out kicking but.
I don’t care about Willard and Kurtz (now if it was Wagner and Powers) – but that clip have me bouncing all over the room *g*

    Two thumbs up!

    • Billiam

The quality is that of a 1970s television show. You can tell the graininess is done on purpose.

    • Tony

Wow, youre really showing our age! LOL

  • Gabby

OMG!!! that was so amazing. thanks ausiello. i love this show so much. <3

Man, I started watching an ep of Supernatural and was all ready for grim circumstances and seriousness, and then I see this! I can’t stop smiling and laughing! Think I’ll need to wait an hour or two before I can be serious again!

  • Jem
