She’ll play Dr. Elizabeth Blair, a surgeon, board member of Hamptons Heritage Hospital, and an adversary-turned-mentor to Jill (Jill Flint). Harden, who last year added a Tony to her enviable awards chest for her tour de force performance in God of Carnage, first appears in Pains‘ season 2 premiere on June 3.

Love her! Sounds like they’re attracting a rather nice little collection of guest stars.

She’s way too good for this show.

What does this have to do with Marcia Gay Harden or her career? What is it with people submitting posts that have 0 to do with the original article?

@ jennrae – Shes way too good for you.
@ kelian – Yes, its wrong.

I can’t wait until this show comes back!!!

Talk about a “Damages” reunion. Campbell Scott (Joe Tobin), Anastasia Griffith (Katie Connor) and Marcia Gay Harden (Claire Maddox). Now we just need Glenn Close and Rose Byrne and we’ll have a basketball team.

    -SAVE DAMAGES!

      I second that notion.

    I love her! Great news.

      good news, athletedate

Can’t wait until all new Evan / Divya shenanigans! MGH is awesome and I hope she makes the Jill character somewhat interesting because she wasn’t at all the first season.

Marcia Gay Harden can do no wrong.

      EGOT-ing?

I’m really excited about Harden being on the show, but does anyone know if Ezra Miller (Tucker) and the actress who played Libby will be back? I always loved Tucker and Libby grew on me. I think they are both great little parts to the show and it would be cool if they became bigger characters or at least came back occasionally.

I love marcia. I’ll watch royal pains just for her.

I’d rather her back on SVU

    • giselle

She’s excellent. I hope she does return to SVU before it ends.

Am I the only one who’s never heard of this show? I even imdb’ed it to jog my memory, and am still drawing a blank.

it’s a tough one to remember because it’s really a summer show. but it’s very clever. the guy who plays the lead, mark feuerstein, apparently has been known as a bit of a show killer, and it’s cool to see him get a part that fits him really well. his assistant, i’m blanking on her name, reminds me a little of kalinda from the good wife (same type of snarky, snappy lines), I’d highly recommend it, good show

Met Marcia in person last fall. Very nice lady, fabulous actress. I had given up on RP, but now will have to watch again.

  • Lori

I still remember the guest spot she did on Law and Order. She is a powerfully dramatic actor, I bet she’s even better on the lighter side of TV. Good call! Love MGH!

  • Mincha

    Hey! This could be fun!

  • Brett

Marcia Gay Harden is one of the best actresses ever, right up there with Betty Davis and Meryl Streep. Best Marcia Gay Harden movie? Late For Dinner with Brian Wimmer. This should be MUST SEE VIEWING for fans of Marcia Gay Harden as it is one of her best performances ever and if you watch it, have a box of tissues handy.

  • Brett

She rocked in Meet Joe Black too!
Come to think of it, Marcia just rocks! Marcia-Marcia-Marcia! ;)
