So does this mean Lynette’s one of the ones biting the dust?
Unless they’ve been lying to us, Aus told us before that none of the principles were going to bite it.
it’ll be Angie since she is leaving
Well, they mentioned all the regulars on PP except Naomi and Violet, (and I guess Dell) so one of them is obviously the crash victim Sam’s going to work on. Here’s to hoping it’s not Violet…
Pete wasn’t mentioned either. The title of the episode leads me to think it’s Naomi.
I had the same reaction. If PP is centered around Addison, then it has to be Naomi.
I hope it’s Violet
Please let it be Violet….I’m sick of her whinning.
I agree. I think Naomi was in the car with her daughter and there was a crash. Maybe Naomi’s face is unrecognizeable so Sam doesn’t know he’s operating on her until after he leaves the OR and finds out about Maya.
sorry I meant I agree its Naomi. Like Violet or not, she’s about to be in an interesting storyline arc. They won’t kill her off.
Heidi – sounds plausible, but it’s way too much like what Grey’s did with George last year. Doesn’t seem likely given that plotline.
I thought is was Naomi ever since EW first posted that a Private Practice regular was dying a couple weeks ago.
I’m afraid it’ll be Pete (who is one of my favorites) but hope it’s Violet. It pains me to say that because I love Amy Brennerman. But I agree – the character now sucks.
I hope it’s Violet too. Can’t stand her character.
If that’s true, it’s just like Grey’s season finale last year.
Yeah, too similar to the George thing. I was thinking that maybe the crash victim was responsible for Maya’s situation. But even that’s too canny.
She did that for Grey’s finale last year, so I doubt that this will happen on PP
It’s probably Naomi. I’m getting a deja vu, it sounds just like the situation with George on Grey’s.
actually that is true. If she did that she’d get alot of flack so now I’m thinking its NOT Naomi. When they talk about Cooper and talk about ‘valiant’ efforts… I’m not happy if I’m right but maybe the end of a friendship is Cooper’s death to save Violet from someone or something right after telling Charlotte how much he loves her.
that sounds like a very familiar storyline…oh wait, shonda just did it on greys.
And she stole it from ER who did that story line years ago. What a waste of a show.
I think It’s PETE. If you follow him on twitter he has been cryptic about PP.
but Naomi could be a possibility.
Craig! Thank you thank you for being the other person out there who remembers Carter discovering the suicide was Omar Epps on ER. I love Grey’s but it made me sad that Shonda stole such a shocking and memorable storyline. And I love PP but I really hope she doesn’t re-use this storyline AGAIN. Also I sort of hope it’s Pete or Dell, I really can’t imagine the show without all three women.
I hope it’s Pete, I love the others too much.
didn’t Tim Daly twitter that it will be his character to die.
My vote is for Nai. It seems like the show is going for a death and life scene with Nai and Maya’s baby.
That’s a possibility.
Actually, Addison is in the crash (and lives), but Sam ends operating on the drunk driver that crashes into her.
but Addison is working on saving Maya and her baby
actually, if you read anything, or looked at the pictures. its dell in the crash with maya. if addisons in a crash, its after the whole maya ordeal.
its either dell or naomi or cooper who dies in my opinion. but according to AmyB people get together, with those you never thought they would or something :/
i hope the engagement is violet&pete!!! i love them together. they’re perfect and have amahzing chemistry!
That would soooo obviously be exactly like George’s death on Grey’s so they better not go that route.
WTH Justin & Rebecca separated already? They JUST got married. ARG
Seriously, WTH? They dragged out their nuptials too long, and now they’re breaking up? Boo B&S producers!
I don’t understand why they stopped reviewing Brothers and Sisters. I am wondering how they are going to end Robert Lowe’s tenure on the show. Why does he keep leaving shows when he’s popular??
seriously ridiculous. i know a lot of people think it’s weird, but i love the chemistry between justin and rebecca and the fact that this has been dragged out and over-dramatized is totally irritating, and a separation? come on.
After watching the most recent episode, I am sadly beginning to believe that it is Pete that shall die. I am not happy with this choice at all. If Pete dies, custody of Lucas will automatically be handed over to Violet. While I like Violet, I think she lost all rights to Lucas when she left him at Pete’s doorstep. To simply hand her custody is a slap to viewers/fans faces. She should at least have to earn the right to even be able to see Lucas…it shouldn’t just be handed to her.
I don’t like the Maya story arc at all…having her struggling to survive, as well as her baby, is just another insult to fans. People have guessed this little story a long time ago.
As for Naomi dying…could be. I would prefer her to die rather then Pete — this season I just do not like her at all. But having Sam operate on her and not realize it is her until after the operation — that is a tad bit unbelievable since he was her husband. Again, I am sensing Pete. Also, the ONE bad thing about killing off Naomi is what will they then do with Fifi? I love Fifi, like Charlotte, he actually grew on me. I don’t want to see his character disappear.
God help anyone Sam has to operate on because they just pulled this surgeon thing directly out of his a s s. Not too long ago he was operating on tiny baby hearts, as if it were a skill you could just pick up. It really undermines the amount of time a real surgeon has to devote, the number of years it takes to become even a mediocre surgeon. Oh, but yeah, this guy can be entrusted with itty bitty baby hearts. Who cares if he hasn’t picked up a scalpel since his residency, cut into my baby, please! (Shonda Rhimes has lost her mind.)
Addison mentioned that Sam used to be a great surgeon (she did mention the specialty but i can’t recall what it was at the moment) But then “something” happened that made him change his specialty to internal medicine. She didn’t give any details as to what happened or when, but if he was a surgeon he’s had at least 5 years of residency training and another 3 for fellowship training(i.e. specialty). That’s 8 years of surgery plus the number of years that he continued in that specialty.
Have you considered Dink the babies father and the most likely person to be with Maya.
aw c’mon thats how george left from Grey’s and they did that in ER too, c’mon writer’s!!!
why do I keep watching these shows????? Same story lines seem to just keep repeating.
lol i’m with you! i think i will give up on DH at the end of the season; it’s just getting grating.
I agree about DH – I feel obligated to watch the ladies since I’ve been there since the beginning, but the writing has definitely gone way downhill. But, I know I won’t stop watching, lol. I guess I just hope that with every week it will get better…
I gave up on DH after last season and I haven’t missed it since. You’ll be much happier without those annoying women taking up an hour of your time on Sunday nights. Trust me.
Looks like Sam is not the one dying on Private Practice. My guess is that he discovers the person who was the crash victim was someone from their practice (very similar to that Grey’s Anatomy line with George).
I was thinking the exact same thing…is that the only way the writers know how to kill someone off?
@lou They didn’t mention Pete either.
Still could potentially die: Pete, Naomi, Violet, Dell.
The word Valiant referring to Cooper implies ‘heroic’ – could be he dies to protect his friend Violet or to save Charlotte…hope I’m wrong.
“The End of a Beautiful Friendship” is the title. Have you thought that it could be the end of Addison and Naomi’s friendship because Naomi is going to die!?!
Um, yeah, read 4 or 5 lines up. I definitely already suggested that.
Oh sorry haha, I guess I didn’t read all the posts close enough
The posts were only 7 minutes apart. No need to be self righteous
Yes, let’s all bow to the omniscient Emily who originated the thought. She deserves credit for that very original idea. *Applause*
Or maybe the end of the friendship between Addison/Naomi isn’t because Naomi dies, but because Addison and Sam decide to be together, which ruins the friendship Addison and Naomi had.
You are Smart!!
maybe it’s the end of cooper’s and violet’s friendship…
PP I think Cooper disagrees with Violet’s play for custory and they have a fight.
I also worry that Cooper might bethe one to die
I think guessing Naomi is a good guess based on the title, but to be honest, I think that is too obvious… i agree that the end of the friendship could result in other ways than the death. They do call it “unexpected” which any of these possibilities would be unexpected, but I really think it might be something totally out of left field
That’s what I think and hope! I really like Sam and Addison together.
I think Maya is going to die in childbirth. Naomi is going to blame Addison. That is what I think is going to happen.
IMO the “beautiful friendship” likely refers NOT to Addison & Naomi, but to Cooper and Violet. The welcome addition of Alice’s Caterina Scorsone to the cast suggests that the person being killed off is female (so I agree that Violet and Naomi are the only two possibilities given the friendship clue). Violet’s mental health is definitely an issue — and so is Amy Brenneman’s physical health. It’s why Violet had to be written out and gone to Costa Rica for several episodes — and no, the exact nature of her health issue hadn’t been disclosed the last time I checked her blog). And Brian Benben has done a great job with Sheldon as Sheldon has taken on the function of the show’s resident shrink in Brenneman’s absence.
.
Finally, even before Violet was attacked at the end of last season, she wasn’t all that tightly wrapped. Heck, they established her in the first episodes as more-or-less stalking her ex-. Sometimes people don’t bounce back from extreme trauma and IMO despite Violet being a psychiatrist, she fits as a type of person that wouldn’t bounce back.
.
So my bet on so many levels is that Violet’s the one that dies.
.
– Rob
I think you make some valid points here….
Bree considers confessing a secret she’s harbored for years- would that be the 1 dark family secret revealed ?
So safe to say the dark secret is she gave up a child as a teen for adoption and he’s come back.
Oh, you mean Sam?
The only secret we know that Bree has is that she covered up Andrew killing Carlos’s mum. But I doubt it’d be that.
Thats exactly the secret they r referring to!!
What Justin and Rebecca are separating ? that blows.
Yeah, especially considering how stable they’ve been lately. Lame.
I LIKE stable Justin-and-Rebecca! How many times already have they had fight after fight? I actually fell in love with them again in the eppy where they eloped. “A trial separation” really stinks at this point.
yeah B and S really needs to come up with some new story lines- they just keep having the same type of drama happen to the same people…
I agree. What’s with that? They just got married and now they are trying a trial separation. Can’t couples ever be happy on TV.
Lynette and Tom are happy. Probably the only one’s.
yeah, I’m not a fan of that. They are so tired when their just fighting all the time, but when they’re happy and together they are a very sweet couple. I don’t like where this is going at all
Brothers and Sisters started out with promise, but has fizzled out. It’s just a constant stream of silly cliche stories, now.
It’s time to end it.
I sadly agree. I still watch it but it’s more out of habit. Seems like a Lifetime drama.
Luc and Sarah have no chemistry at all. I cannot see that going very far.
Last Sunday, it showed Justin wanting to go in the Army again…as if he didn’t have enough problems the last time.
Also, I wish they would wrap up Nora’s memory of that parcel of land. ( cannot remember the name of it.)
Shonda needs to learn how to write a good story arc!!!!!!!! All she does on both shows is toss people from relationship to relationship.
Killing off Naomi would leave the door open for a Sam/Addison romance now…creating a nice Pete/Addison/Sam triangle for next season. Though I have to say that I HATE the Sam/Addison pairing. I just don’t buy it. I’ve always liked her and Pete together.
Except that I read somewhere that Addison does find happiness and it is NOT with Sam OR Pete. I still hope it’s Violet’s character that dies.
Where did it say it was NOT with Sam or Pete ?? Shonda Rhimes has said Addie gets the guy in the finale, but the guy has to be Sam or Pete surely ?
I do not like the Sam/Addison pairing either. Come on, she has been best friends with Naomi for too many years.. And pairing them if Naomi dies is just wrong. How would Maya feel about that?
Thank GOD someone else agrees. I cannot STAND Addison/Sam. It is so forced and it’s really making me hate the show. I always wanted Pete and Addy from the beginning, but even that seems forced with the absolutely atrocious writing being thrown their way.
I hope it’s Naomi. No offense to the actor because I think she’s fantastic, but the character has become so awful and self-absorbed that I can’t deal with it.
Oh I totally agree – feels so forced.
So Happy to see that other people agree that Sam and Addison are TERRIBLE together. They seem like brother and sister to me so the chemistry just comes off as forced. Ugh.
My bet is definitely still on either Violet or possibly Naomi. End of a beautiful friendship could mean many things – Naomi and Addison; Cooper and Violet (and for a multitude of reasons, whether the title actual refers to the physical death or just the death of a relationship falling a part OR both!), we don’t know. Gah, I just want Addison to be happy with Pete (and Lucas)! So my hope is that Violet dies – like her friendships stuff w/ Cooper but EVERYWHERE else, the character does nothing for me but irritates me!
I much prefer Addison and Pete to Sam and Addison.. them getting together is just wrong- do they really need to always make her the homewrecker? Plus since the very beginning of the show Pete was a possibility for her- I really think he’d be a good match for her. Pete offers a lot for her- change from her stealing other people’s men and obviously the baby! THere’s too much drama involved with Sam.
Perhaps Naomi and Maya are in a car wreck together thus the fight to say the baby and Maya and the death of a character.
good theory
Excellent theory.
Except if Naomi was in the car with Maya, then her identity would be known when she comes to the hospital. I’m not sure that ALLl the drama in the finale would be centered around Sam/Naomi/Maya. I think someone else besides Naomi buys it.
You guys think Violet is annoying? Gee, I think all Naomi does is whine, I can’t remember an episode lately where she hasn’t be whining over one thing or another and it’s getiing wayyy to over the top. At least Violet is getting better, I hope they kill of Naomi.
Naomi is an annoying character, I agree. Violet can be annoying but given all her character has gone through – it’s understandable. I guess Naomi has gone through a lot too, but her whining has been much more egocentric
I’m thinking Naomi in a car crash on the way to the hospital to be with Maya. She dies on impact, the driver rushed to the hospital where Sam performs on him/her not realizing they killed Naomi but eventually discovers it. Meanwhile, Addison and crew fight to save Maya.. Maya dies.. baby saved.. Sam blames Addie.. thus the end of their beautiful friendship. Orrr.. Violet dies and it rocks Cooper’s world and it’s the end of their beautiful friendship. Ahh Who knows…. meanwhile I’m glued to the tube!
ooh good theory about sam performing on the guy that kills naomi! i used to love naomi but she *is* the least likable character this season so i hope shes the one that goes
The description says Sam works on a crash accident. Even if Naomi and Maya were part of the crash, if they collided with another car that still leaves the other driver. Sam could be working on that particular car driver and his “grim discovery” could be that the driver whose life he was trying to save was the same one that collided with Naomi and Maya, and while he was trying to save the driver’s life, the rest of his family members were fighting for their own lives.
I think it’s going to be Naomi because she really hasn’t been on the show in a while, and her character dying would bring Sam and Addison together.
Whoever it is on PP seems they are the person who hit Maya and her unborn baby and Sam’s issue is going to be to save or let them die.
I hope Ojai Foods burns to the ground. That storyline is well past its expiration date.
I don’t really care who dies on PP, as long as it’s not Sam or Naomi. I really want Sam and Addison to be together.
So do I. Love Addie and Sam
Best couple on the show.
I agree that it’s likely Naomi, and the purpose is to open up the door for a Sam/Addie pairing, which, like the other poster mentioned, I don’t like. I don’t know how people think it’s okay for them to be together when she’s been best friends with his ex-wife for 20 years. An ex-wife with whom he has a 15 year old daughter. I just dont’ understand that. They could be together, but it doesn’t make sense for Naomi to ever accept it. Also, Shonda’s way of getting the audience to accept a character parting is by phasing them out (See George O’Malley). Shonda drives me crazy. She’s clearly run out of ideas, and she’s very arrogant. I will say that I think that PP has been stronger than GA recently with the interesting and polarizing cases they’ve encountered recently.
This times infinity! Sam and Addison just doesn’t feel right, no matter how much you try to convince me!
Yes, inserting yourself into a messy domestic situation and stealing another woman’s child because you can’t have your own, is clearly the better path here. It’s not like she didn’t almost do that at the end of last season already — if Noah and his wife had had the baby already, she would have been all in on that too. Shonda would be hard pressed to manage to make Vapid, aka Addison, less sympathetic than she already is.
Are girlfriends not expected to care for their boyfriend’s child ? Addison knows she is not Lucas’s mom and has stated it explicitly many a time, but the fact that she can’t have children herself is bound to cut deep spending time with Pete and Lucas.
I hope they explore Addison having her own baby next season. An adoption storyline could be good.
I really don’t understand this reasoning. Naomi dies, so it’s ok for them to be together? NO. If that were to happen (which I hope it’s Violet), it may bring them closer together to grieve w/each other and maybe EVENTUALLY they will get together but it’s not like they’re going to look at each other and be like “Naomi is dead…phew, now we can finally be together.”
Technically the only reason it is not okay for Addison to date Sam now is because Naomi is against it and Addison doesn’t want to hurt her friend. If Naomi dies, there is zero reason why Sam and Addie can’t be together so yes, it DOES make it okay.
Shonda’s very good at creating characters – she just doesn’t know what to do with them!
